She has been in labour for the past hour and I am getting really worried, I hope they both make it out alive.

Oh, moon goddess save Anna and the baby, this pack needs a heir and I need to still be fit to train him and I still need my mate by my side as his mother and my Luna.

I should be in there with her, as her mate, giving her the strength and support she needs but-

"You're a puss"

My wolf Jack interrupted my personal reflection and I closed the mind link, I didn't need his sarcasm right now.

But he just reopened it right back..

"Relax Rodal, she'll be fine. Anna is strong and so is Lynn. You'll be a father and have a strong heir to make Vollmond as the strongest pack in the South even stronger, just like you and your father and his father and-"

"Yeah I get it Jack " I said shutting off the mind link again.

I sighed and ran a hand through my messy brown hair, this was harder than I thought.

Maybe I should go back in and make sure she's alright.

"Alpha... " someone said through the mind link

It was a female voice, so I assumed it was the midwife no other person would dare to mind link me right now.

"Yes" I replied gruffly

"She has been delivered of a baby and it's a girl"

She said the last part with a squeal and I could tell from her voice she was very excited.

The new Alpha of full moon pack will be a girl, how is that even possible, a female Alpha, that's the next thing to impossible.

There's only been one female Alpha in the history of the werekind, history says she was meant to bring peace to the North, South, East and West side packs, including the rogues.

Heck, she was meant to restore peace to all the other supernaturals , the vampires and witches even hybrids and to begin the lines of the Legendary Alpha females.

'Tough job'

But she never could.

Yeah, she brought the union to all the sectors sort of a mutualism but she couldn't bring peace between the rogues and pack wolves and ever since then there hasn't been a female alpha.

"Congratulations " Jack said but I wasn't sure I should be happy. He didn't sound too excited either.

I felt a hand on my shoulder, and then picked up the scent of my Beta, Marshall.

" It's a girl" I heard him say.

And I turned around to face him. His blonde hair was messy, as a result of running his hand through it a little too much, I wasn't sure who was more frustrated right now. His brown eyes dark and his expression solemn and I wondered what he was thinking.

"I know" I breathed, giving him a look so he could keep talking as I had no idea what to do.

" Alpha.... You know it's that time again right?"

" What time?" I replied feeling rather confused.

What could have gotten him so rattled, his brown eyes darkened and he kept looking around.

"The pup of the blue moon... Meaning that the pup would not have her inner wolf"

My eyes widened as realization struck me.

" I think it's about six greats.. " Jack said in my head.

'Let me finish would ya'

Ever since he got mated to a human werewolf, Every blue moon the next born alpha would be human. Though not a pure human, the pup wouldn't have it's inner wolf, meaning it wouldn't be able to shift.

'Meaning she'll be weak.. '

" We can't have a weak Alpha, we've worked so hard for this " Jack said in my head

" You don't think I know that " I replied shutting off the mind link... again.

" Alpha..... What are we going to do?" My Beta asked

" Well we should see the child first " I said.

With that I turned and started walking in the direction of the maternity room and I could smell my Luna Anna and something else more delicate than hers, my pup.

I pushed through the doors and saw her holding on to the baby.

She looked at me with her deep hazel eyes smiling and then looked back to the baby, who was staring at her.

I moved closer to them and picked the pup, she had pure black hair, just like my father and light blue eyes like mine, her button nose and full lips looked just like Anna's. She was a beautiful pup.

And then she smiled at me, putting her fists out like she wanted to touch me.

"This is your daddy, little one" Anna said.

Making the widest grin make its way onto my face. I forgot all about the Alpha troubles and enjoyed the warmth of my family.

"Alpha" The Doctor called. " What will the pup's name be?" she asked.

Anna and I never talked about female names.

As I parted my lips to reply. Anna answered.

"Fortress, Fortress Selene Merrick" Anna said and the doctor smiled.

I looked at Anna confused but she just gave me a knowing look.

"I'll explain later" She said through the mind link and I nodded looking back to the baby who had made herself comfortable in Anna's arms and was slowly drifting off.
