59 Chapter 59

Sam didn't know what happened next. But he realized that the whole building he was in had gone into hell. This meant that many devil hunters had gotten in here.

From the piles of the crushed building, Sam emerged as he stood up.

He turned his head. The sound of a chainsaw making its way through could be heard.

Soon, Denji's head appeared.

BOOM

And lastly, Reze came to the scene with a large explosion.

Sam looked at her. She transformed back to her human form. Seeing that he was staring at her for too long, she couldn't pretend like nothing happened.

She smiled and said, "I know that a lot had happened between us in the past. But I think that we have a bigger deal to deal with."

"A lot?" Sam asked, "you mean you getting your ass handed to you by me?"

"And for the record, I wanted you alive to catch that idiot," she pointed at Denji. "But after our last try, I forgot about it."

What a good liar. She had never forgotten about it. She had been contacting Tony all along, and he had been ignoring her.

Sam chuckled.

Well, since this was a journey in hell, Sam didn't know if he or her would come back alive. He had a higher chance of survival since he was stronger, faster, smarter, and better. Let's not forget that he would get stronger each time he would kill a devil.

It wouldn't harm to see the look on her face if she knew.

"For the record, I'm Tony Redgrave." Sam said, "Nice robbing your money out of your pocket."

Reze stood there, frozen for a second as her mouth made an 'o' shape. She took a very deep breath and said, "Well played. But I don't have time to kill you, not when we are here."

"That's cute." Sam turned his head. There was barely any source of light, yet he could see.

He raised his head.

Infinite doors covered the sky.

The ground was grassy with flowers around it. Hills were here and there.

When he looked at the doors again, Sam doubted that these were the way back to Earth.

He wondered if other doors could take him into other worlds. Let's say, the world he came from?

Upon remembering his life back on earth, Sam couldn't help but smile.

'Those video games. Those weekend parties.'

He was someone from the 2020+.

Now, he was in the early 2000s.

Do you know what it feels like to live among people not from your era?

He could understand what it was like to be lonely without being alone.

"This place is nostalgic, isn't it." Sam muttered.

His words, however, didn't have the same effect on others. Some gasped, but Sam didn't even bother to look back at them.

Denji had been silent for too long. When Sam turned to him, he found out that he was helping people. It was quite a wonder to see Denji act like that. But then, that wonder vanished when he saw Denji helping a few female devil hunters, and the males were lucky to be there.

"So, what's the plan?" asked Reze as she stood next to Sam.

"The plan? Why are you asking me?"

"You are apparently the mastermind playing everything behind the scene, so you should know." Reze said.

Sam rubbed his chin. "Quite flattered for you to think this highly of me."

Sam didn't want her to be by his side, for he didn't trust a crazy woman like her at all. And he didn't trust Denji either, for that man thinks with his penis more than his own brain. It was better to depend on himself.

"Wait!" A feminine voice screamed. When Sam turned his head, he saw Kobeni running toward him. She was the short girl he once had trolled after killing the infinite devil. Well, she was still cute.

"I thought that you quit?" Sam said.

"I should." She replied. "But I'm not."

"So, what brings you with me?"

"I don't know. It's hell." She joined her hands together, shaking. "I'm quite afraid. What if I died, where would I go?"

"That's a good question." Sam replied. He started thinking about what to do. He could stay here and hunt some devils. But how to get out. Once they were quite far from everyone, Sam thought about something. If there is someone who can force the Hell Devil to get them out, it would be her. Luckily, he had a summon contact.

He lifted his head, sighed, and said. "Hell Chains, Descend."

"What?" Kobeni tilted her head, quite wondering what he was up to.

From nowhere, fire appeared on the ground. From it, Makima's figure appeared. Makima's figure emerged from it.

Kobeni was taken aback, her lips shaking. "Boss."

Makima put her finger on Kobeni's lips, and she said. "Forget about what you just saw."

Kobeni, all of a sudden, changed her attitude. She nodded without hesitation.

"I thought I said you should be more careful when you summon me." Makima said. Well, she never said that.

Sam shrugged, and he pointed with his head up.

Makima looked up, and she said. "How did you end up in hell."

"A large hand took me inside." Sam said.

Makima smirked. With a teasing tone, she said, "Were you too afraid that you had to summon me?"

"Honestly, I'm not willing to leave without slaying some devils." Sam said, slowly unsheathing his sword. "But if there is someone who could control a devil and force them to make a contact, no one is better than you."

"The devils in hell are born here. However, when they get killed, they reborn on earth. Only those who can ascend can get back here. But for you to think so highly of me." Makima smiled. "I'm flattered. By the way, do you want to see my old house."

"Old house?"

"I used to live here, and I came here occasionally."

"Alright, I get you." Sam said. "But before that, we should find the hell devil."

"I'll find him. But first, I have to deal with some people here." Makima said, slowly turning and looking toward Reze. Upon making eye-contact with Makima, Reze turned into her fiend form and started running.

Meanwhile in front of Sam, a few gigantic figures appeared. Most of them were above 20 meters. All had a strong devilish aura around them.

"Sam, don't think about anything rush." Makima said, holding Sam from the shoulder.

Too bad that she couldn't control him because he couldn't control himself either.

Sam unsheathed his sword and ran toward the first devil he saw.
