16 The memories of the Cerins (Pt.4)

The Fifth looked on with a sort of passive amusement as she finally saw the effect Three had rushed in here to brag about witnessing.

" so you are here"

Her voice was as calm as her personality and inspired a soft atmosphere that would have been well matched with green tea and a few soft snacks.

Nine bowed in respect to the elder and after a confirming look took a seat next to her.

"Sister Five-"

She was cut off by the old lady.

" Enough with the pleasantries child. To be honest I don't want to pass on my memories but I will because I recognize that it is necessary. My memories are not ones to be shared but shared they will be. They will be difficult to get through but you must persevere."

Then before Nine could reply to the sudden speech she was cut off by a palm to her forehead and the sudden influx of memories.

Five's memories started out quite normally, with the experience of being born but that was the extent of it.

The baby that was Five was immediately transferred into an orphanage and her life began. it was poorly run and operated so she tended to fall sick often and often had to make trips to the hospital when it could be afforded.

Nine lived through Five's multiple adoptions that were all terminated for some reason for the other and lived through the multiple horrors Five as a child was subjected to.

Nine lived through Five's development of a violent personality as a barrier of self defence and watched as she entered high school and became the most feared person, settling any and all fights with her physical capabilities and sharp tongue.

As she wasn't focused on her school work her grades were poor and could only get her into a low tier trades academy or into the night life.

Nine lived through Five's initiation into a gang, doing all and any odd jobs. From delivery to forced prostitution to murder until finally she ran away to the military.

Her violent personality was all but culled by her time in the military and she began to cultivate a calm and passive personality. Five lived by devoting herself to healing instead of hurting.

Five started out as a first aid helper and worked her way up to a combat doctor. She lived through seeing comrades, friends and lovers deaths until the country declared selective isolation and the military was all but disbanded.

With nothing but her skills she started up a small hospital in that same area she had run away from and worked there until she was let go and eventually hit by a truck.

Dissimilar to Four's death of being pierced through the heart, Five's death was rather quick and compiled all of the pain of being run over into a few milliseconds.

Nine awoke and shared a tortured look with Five, having realized that it as probably more difficult for Five to witness her own past as it was for nine to live through it.

Nine tried to find some comforting words, or at least some thankful words. but she was scared that if she opened her mouth she would began to cry.

Five only gave a calm smile and offered the younger girl a short sentence before ushering her out of the room.

" There is no need for regret child. what's done is done and the past is the past. Just make sure you live this life to the fullest so you don't end up coming here permanently."
