Wedding Day-1

"It feels like a dream. All those memories... of five whole years." Jing Lihua whispered to herself. Her fingers lightly brushed the huge glass panels of the hotel room at the tall skyscraper.

She gazed down at the bustling city at her feet.

It was Dawn. Redness spread across the margins of the sky as brightness began to dim, announcing the arrival of night.

It was real, all of it. Yet, to her, it felt so unreal.

"Did all of that really happen?"

A heaviness settled deeply upon her heart once the realization hit her.

"But why did I have to come back on the day of my marriage with Su Liwei?

Why could I have not come back a few days earlier?

Just one day...

Why could I not come back one day earlier when I hadn't signed those papers... those papers that would ruin me.

All those five years of torture...

Is this because God hates me? Does he really want me to re-experience everything?

Do I really have to go through all of that again?"

She closed her eyes. Moisture gathered at the corners of her eyes. Jing Lihua took a deep breath and walked to the decorated wall-long dressing mirror in her wedding room.

She took in her current appearance; the twenty-six years old Jing Lihua.

The Jing Lihua at that time was as delicate as a rose petal.

The Jing Lihua who hadn't yet experienced any drastic hardship.

Those hardships that would ruin her delicacy.

Her A-line, pure white wedding gown cascaded down her petite stature and spread on the floor. Her think and heavy healthy hair was done into a bridal updo braid. Two strands of wavy hair hung loosely on both sides of her squashy cheeks.

Glancing at her attire, she couldn't help but think. "At my wedding, my dear sister Jing Tian had tried to ruin the day for me. However, Zhao Liying and Mo Liang, my best friend, had taken charge of preparing me. It was so unfortunate that later, due to Su Liwei's dislike towards them I had distanced myself from the only people sincere to me."

Jing Lihua observed her natural features at that time.

Her puffy cheeks held a hint of natural blush. Her nose was perfect; straight and slightly edged. Her cheekbones were high. Her lips were thin with a deep cherry hue.

Her light green eyes accentuated her fair skin; like a pair of finest quality jade.

This was how she looked at twenty-six, unlike the haggard appearance at thirty.

At that time, her looks could be said more beautiful than that of the top models in the whole country.

A glimmer of hope lightened in Jing Lihua's heart.

"All is not lost."

She closed her eyes and reopened them. Her dull eyes regained their brightness.

"No.

Since God has given me this chance, I won't yield without a proper fight.

Unlike before, I am aware of the true color of the people around me.

I know a lot of things they don't

I am at an advantage,

I won't let things end like they had in my last life.

I... will change my fate."

Suddenly Jing Lihua's light eyes darkened to a deeper shade. Her face was still the same; innocent and naive. But the air around her altered drastically. Her gaze was so different from the naive Jing Lihua that had once naively fallen in love and given up everything.

Under her eyes was a thirst to change her fate.

A thirst... for vengeance.

She turned and walked to the small bar. Pouring herself a glass of some expensive wine, she wondered at which point of life she was.

"At this point, the heart of the naive Jing Lihua was filled with delight and optimism as she looked forward to her married life. She had eagerly waited for her husband... But he only hurt her."

Her delicate fingers tightened around the glass. Determination flashed across her sharp eyes. Those eyes didn't have the same cheerfulness and naiveness, but unparalleled strength and cunningness.

Glancing at the heart-shaped clock on the wall, she wondered to herself.

"It should be time. He should be here any moment..."

Just as she finished talking, the noise of the card sliding across the lock was heard. The door to the hotel suite was pushed lightly and a lean figure walked in.

Su Liwei walked in dressed in a slim fit, custom made wedding tuxedo. At the age of twenty-six, his youthful sharp features and handsome appearance could make anyone halt in his path and turn to look back.

Even the years back in Jing Lihua's last life hadn't affected his appearance much.

However, the severity of the coldness that lingered in his aura would force anyone, who dares to approach him, to step back in fear was still the same.

'I have to admit, his looks can make any girl fall for him. Then what was that naive Jing Lihua in front of him? How could she bear the brunt of his attack?'

Deep buried memories from her last life surfaced. Jing Lihua's heart wavered for a second.

She quietly took a sip from her wine glass.

Her exterior showed no cracks. Instead, she faced him with equal coldness.

Jing Lihua knew what he was going to say next. And before he could humiliate her, she took the initiative.
