Violet said goodbye to Brody's family as he walked her out to the car. Shifting back and forth on his feet, it was clear he was nervous about something.
"It's cold out," he said, trying to make small talk, yet not making eye contact.
She'd never seen him look so nervous talking to her and realized maybe his anxiety was a factor in his sudden change of demeanor.
As the snow fell around them, she closed her eyes as the flakes fell on her cheeks. "I love the snow, don't you?"
"Uh… yeah," he stammered as he looked her over. Her sweet smile warmed him to his very core.
