3 Kaito's Arrival

Kaito just sighed and when he went to go get water his phone rang.

At first, he did not want to answer thinking it was another call from another news agency trying to get gossip was about to turn around to get water and leave the phone ringing the somewhat cold Feng said

"Dude, your private phone is ringing"

And that prompted Kaito to see who it was as it was easy to find his public number but to find his private number that only close family and friends had was really incredible as he had Chen to help keep his private line pretty private unless you had the power to try and track his number. This also goes to the other three's private number as they want some privacy with their personal phones.

Kaito after some hesitation picked up the call but also put the call on speaker so everyone else in the living room could hear

Kaito: "Hello?"

Mei: "hello is this Mr. Ito Kaito on the phone?"

Kaito: "yes it is, who are you?" He was trying to sound polite but he was too curious

Mei: "this is Lawyer Lin Mei speaking"

Kaito and the others were speechless, just a minute ago Chen said he was going to look for other lawyers and then a lawyer called him, not just any lawyer but one of the best lawyers of her generation!

Kaito couldn't help but feel somewhat skeptical because why would Lin Mei, one of the best lawyers around, come to talk to him first? But kept the speculations to himself first to see why she called and he turned off speaker to listen carefully to her

Kaito: "Mm, Ms. Lin, why did you call me?"

Mei: "on the day I was done with one of my cases, I heard about yours from a reporter. I want to help you, I have my own reasons to do so. So I will like to invite you to my office to chat at 9 am sharp tomorrow morning in my office at Lin Law Firm. Goodbye"

And the phone call ended just like that without giving Kaito time to reply

Chen raised an eyebrow signaling to Kaito to spit out the information.

"The Lawyer Ms.Lin Mei called asking for me to come to her office at 9 am tomorrow because she wanted to help me" Kaito said, still confused as to why she wanted to help

At first, they wanted to try other lawyers out beside Lin Mei because she was packed with cases thus not even their influence can make her Kaito's lawyer for the time being but now they were the ones getting offered help

Chen thought for a minute and then said, "I am not sure if this is a hoax but judging that she got your private number I suggest going to the law firm to see if it is real or not."

Kaito thought for a few seconds then hummed to show his positive response towards Chen's comment

"You know, it will be lucky for you Kaito if it is real. I heard she is one of the best lawyers in this generation and at the age of 22!" Minseok commented with Feng nodding

Kaito just hummed again while thinking about the meeting that might take place the next day

- the next day, 8:30 am, Mei's office -

Mei just arrived at her office, and the moment she arrived, Assistant Huang (aka Wei) handed her milk tea and Mei started reading a case that was handed to her recently that she could either take on or reject

*knock knock*

"Come in" Mei said while drinking the milk tea and reading the case

"Xiao Mei, I have come to tell you your schedule for today" Huang Wei said while holding his work tablet standing waiting for Mei to finish reading her sentence so he can tell her, her schedule for the day

Mei hummed and closed her file so she can concentrate on her assistant/older brother figure

"At 9 am, Mr. Ito is scheduled to have a meeting with you but after that, you do not have anything besides reading your cases till 3 pm when your blind date will begin at the Quanjude Restaurant, after that, you will be free from any meetings or of that sort for the day" Huang Wei said, a chuckle almost left his mouth as he pretended to cough to cover up the fact he almost laughed looking at Mei's face which showed annoyance and grievance when he mentioned the blind date

"Anything else?" Mei asked

"No, I will take my leave now" Huang Wei said, bowing his head and leaving while gently shutting the door

- at 8:55 am, outside of Lin Law Firm -

Kaito just got to Lin Law Firm and stepped out of his Aston Martin car with black sunglasses paired with a black mask to protect himself from getting noticed and went inside to the lobby of the law firm with his manager trailing behind him

He arrived at the lobby and went to the receptionist desk to check-in since Mei told him that someone will take him to her office once he arrives through a text message right after she ended the call

When he went up to the receptionist and as soon as she looked up from the computer

she said, "Hello, how may I help you?"

Kaito replied back "Hello, I have an appointment with Ms. Lin Mei?"

The receptionist asked, "What is your name sir?"

Kaito responded back with "Ito Kaito"

The receptionist raised her eyebrow as not many get a direct appointment with Mei since she is a highly requested lawyer, most have to meet with her assistant first then if he gives an ok (meaning he found the cases to be something Mei would accept) the next day they can meet Mei

And besides the fact that he is in a sandal right now, she has not seen him yesterday so that means he got a direct appointment with Mei without having to go through Assistant Huang which is not easy, but she did not pry into the matter as everyone in the building was trained to be professional and polite regardless of anything

"Ok sir, let me call Assistant Huang to pick you up seeing as I was told too" the receptionist said, picking up the (PBX system)* office phone and dialed Assistant Huang's office phone on his desk

"Hello?" Huang Wei** asked

** = I will be calling him Assistant Huang, Huang Wei or Wei depending on who and where he is being mentioned, if when its office hours for example I will use Assitant Huang or Huang Wei but if it's not or when it's only between friends and family I will use Wei and etc
