12 12. "Trade secret"...

His eyes softened and became warm as he looked at her nonchalant side profile.

Somehow, she created a perfect blend of west and east. Her exquisite looks with that traditional look gave a natural ambiance and didn't look out of place, even though, she was practically treating her drive like an F1 race, as the speed kept on increasing.

' It's weird or maybe she seems perfect to me no matter the cause.' He thought to himself.

As the view outside literally started blurring, he wondered if she was inspecting the speed limits and let out a light chuckle, which gained her notice.

She gave him a confused look, as if, asking why was he smiling.

He just smiled and said," Linlin, where are we going?"

"Ah!...To pick up grandpa's present." she shrugged.

"hmm~ Present, is it?", he gave a curious look.

This time he took a better look at the road and noticed that they were on their way to the airport.

"You found her!!", he exclaimed loudly.

She was expecting it and smiled.

"How?", he was really a bit flustered.

Well, they were talking about someone who has been out of their radar for over a year now!! Even he was unable to get hold of her using all his legal connections, so, it came as a shock.[The keyword being 'legal'...my son is trying to be as civil as possible!!]

She gave a soft laugh and chided, "Trade secret."

"Linlin!!", he was basically pouting.

"haha...it's nothing much. She has been out of station for a year now and I noticed that grandpa was lonely so, I decided to use myself as bait this time and it worked. Well, I had to bribe her a bit but it's worth it if you both are happy.", she explained while poking at those flared up puffed cheeks.

"Ah!! No wonder.", he was really shocked but thinking about their grandpa, he too, was happy and then he took another look at her.

'It was a rare look...no wonder', he thought to himself.

"So, where did you find her? Last time she sent a pic and said that she was in Hawaii, of course, we couldn't find her there" he was very, very curious.

"haha..why did you search there? Of course, she wouldn't leave a trail behind and was giving a feint", she knew that person the best.

"Then?"

"Well, I won't get into details but I have been keeping an eye on her ever since she left and after I came back I just waited for her to relax so that she could let her guard down a bit more, last month I finally got hold of her in Maldives, the timing of that pic or that sunset to be exact, didn't match with the time of Hawaii, so....." she trailed off, with his IQ he filled the rest of it.

The ride was smooth, excluding the thrilling ride itself, no matter her desire to speed up like that with him by her side, she won't let any mishap happen.

As they got out of the car to receive her she gave a call to the bodyguards under her direct command, who were in standby, to procure the place.

They went through the VIP passage to wait for their private plane to land as dozens of SP surrounded the area, they were after all celebs in C-country plus they had the power to control the economy of the country on a whim.

They didn't have to wait long, at about 10:40, that was about 10 minutes after their arrival, their private plane landed and a lady in royal blue coat style dress, inspired from the British Queen's signature uniform, came out accompanied by her personal bodyguards.

As she came closer, the aura she emanated deepened, she was the current matriarch of the Qins, Xia Jingyi.

Nobody would believe that she was already 65, as she looked no older than 40, her deep brown peach blossom eyes were similar to Meilin's, she walked to them with poise and dignity, not a single flaw could be seen in that perfected gait and aloof cold looks but that was just a facade for the world to see as once she saw qin Meilin and Qin ZiXuan waiting for her, her steps quickened and just like that--

"A'Mei!! ZiXuan!!", she squealed as she took both of them into her embrace.

"Grandma", they acknowledged in unison, this much skinship was the only the bare minimum because this seemingly cold lady when with her loved ones turned into a cute-always-squealing-or-pouting-preteen-girl.

"Grandma missed you a lot, let's sit and talk for a bit. Grandma hasn't seen you in a long while, let me replenish my energy", as she rubbed their faces with her small hands she had an expression of immense love as she doted on the both of them, a lot. She was all smiles as she held one hand each of the two and dragged them to the VVIP resting hall, all who knew her personally know that, Xia Jingyi was very hyperactive, Qin ZiXuan probably learned everything about being clingy and pouty from her!!

But before anything else, Qin Meilin helplessly shook her head as she looked at her Grandma and then at her XuanXuan who had a similar expression on him. She sighed and lightly coughed,

"Ahem! Grandma, isn't their someone who misses you as much as you do, other than us?"

Xia Jingyi froze for a second and then turned around. She let go of their hand and as she crossed both her arms over her chest, she pouted,

"Hmph!! I don't care about that old geezer, hmmph!"

Qin Meilin, looked at her and sighed again. [My Meilin sighs a lot....at first I was adamant on naming this novel as 'Sighs' but thank god I didn't....it was only because the readers wouldn't get the logic you know, I am just plain weird...sighs....See even I'm doing that \_(0_0)_/]

Qin Meilin herself crossed her arms beautifully over her chest as her eyes narrowed at the old-kid in front of her. Xia Jingyi was most afraid of this look, actually, everyone in the family was. In the Qin Family the most level-headed person was, no doubt, Meilin; Qin Mo was ruthless on the outside but towards his family he became helplessly doting and only looked after their happiness, not fit to control them as he spoiled them rotten for example his wife had been missing for a year but Meilin knew that once he saw her, he would just smile and let her go and on the other hand Qin ZiXuan and Xia Jingyi were kids in her eyes, she took it upon her to control them to a certain extent....sighs.
