3 Escape!

Ring! Ring! Ring!

'The alarm?' Plum frowned. It should not be possible for her to be found out...unless...

With the sounds of the alarm, the guards stormed into the room and pointed their guns at Plum.

"Don't move!" the man, who seemed to be the leader of the group, threatened Plum. "If you value your life, then get away from Mr. Wang!"

Plum glanced between her target and the guard leader.

"If you value your master, put your guns down and release me," Plum replied without concern about the hundred guns surrounding her. "I don't mind taking this man with me if my body will become covered in thousands of holes within seconds."

The guard leader hesitated for a second. Then, he yelled, "She's bluffing! Don't listen to the assassin!"

"You underestimate the skills of an assassin from the Black Rose Organization."

Understanding the meaning of those words, the guard leader could not order his subordinates to open fire. He knew that an assassination from "that" organization had their ways of killing people with a flick of their finger.

"Mr. Wang" made eye contact with the guard leader. Nodding to the hidden message that the man sent, the guard leader reluctantly lowered his gun as the others followed his lead.

Witnessing their compliance, Plum's vigilance slightly faltered as she did not notice a single gun still aiming at her.

Bang!

From within the crowd, a bullet pierced through her right thigh.

As the threads loosened, the guard leader waved a hand as he commanded, "Fire!"

With quick reflexes, she abandoned her mission and ducked. Knowing that the guards would not dare aim too close to their master, she utilized her target as a meat shield.

The bullets zoomed past the bed and peppered the window with holes. While Plum had her ways to face armed enemies, her injuries would hinder her movements and perhaps, lead to a fatal mistake.

Noticing her path to escape, she waited until their bullets ran out before gallantly jumping out of the window.

And, down from the fifth floor.

"Don't let the assassin escape!" the guard leader ordered his subordinates to chase Plum.

"Wait."

"Mr. Wang!"

The guards removed the thread from their master as the man languidly sat up from his bed; his eyes never left the shattered window.

"Do not kill her. Capture her and bring her back—alive."

"Yes, sir!" The guards saluted before evacuating the room.

From the crowd, a young woman rushed toward the man. Her night clothes were thin and seductive as they barely masked her voluptuous figure. Checking for any wounds as she felt around his body, she discovered that the man was unharmed.

Sighing in relief, the woman embraced the man. "Darling~, I was so worried that you would be killed."

Fake tears flowed down her soft cheeks as she curtly bit her lip.

The man ignored the seductive woman as he continued to stare at where Plum had left from.

Silence returned to the room.

His eyes became cloudy as perhaps not even God would know what the man's thoughts were under tonight's full moon.
