135 The Burden

The events that wished to curse us this unfortunate night eventually lead to Ducan saving Rhys and me from fighting ourselves, the threat of the lurkers, and the cold biting on our skin. Thankfully, Ducan did not say any word when he teleported us back to the halls of the castle.

It was to my lucky heavens that he arrived sooner than I thought. He helped me bring Rhys to the comforts of my bed, at the same time, assuring me that he will awake as himself.

I stole glances at his face behind his hood, making sure that it's him without a doubt. It has been days since I have last seen him, and our last meeting wasn't that eventful to remember. However, I realized that his presence would only mean the kings too.

When both of us secured Rhys' condition, I only wished to ask him so many questions. We have yet to settle our differences in what happened in the forest. I believe we have dragged it far too long since the king and he refused to come home.
