57 Sailing Toward Danger II

"They don't believe us," Rhys gasp in disbelief. He grips the piece of paper that contains the message from the Thapabians. His brows knitted, and I sense the anger coming alive from his very expression.

Faye balances herself while she approaches Rhys, holding onto his arm as she reads the note with him. I want to stand so I can read the message as well, but there's already a sick feeling forming in the pit of my stomach. The constant rocking of this boat while the waves play with us is making me uncomfortable.

"They think that we're tricking them," Faye furrows her brows as well, "this is unbelievable."

I gaze behind me, at the dock we came from, then ahead of us where the island, covered with mist and stormy clouds. We've gone this far; going back would be a waste. If we do send them another letter, they might dismiss it as they did now.
