105 Potion Room II

"Ducan!"

My heart could pump its way off my chest from its rapidness, and my eyeballs bulged from its sockets. I rush to his position to grab whatever I could of him, but it was too late. He disappeared down in just a matter of seconds. I place both my hands flat on the window sill, pushing myself up as I bend to look down the tower.

I feel numb and afraid of what I may see meters below me, but when I hesitantly glance at the overgrown bushes on the side of the castle walls, I find no corpse of a suicidal creature.

"What- Ducan?" I shakily croak, narrowing my eyes as I scan the entire place. My grip tightens on the solid brick to keep myself from following Ducan's choice of death. What must have run through his mind for him to result in jumping? He could have felt insulted by my prejudice and died with a grudge against me.

Ducan's ghost may haunt me for the rest of my life.
