87 Lyra

The elf slices the chunky piece of meat for me. I told the lady that I could do it myself, but she insisted. She doesn't speak; I don't even know her name, but she remains obedient with her work.

She leaves my plate with pieces of bite-sized, perfectly cooked meat. I stare at it, unable to eat anymore because of how stuffed I am. Even so, I place the juicy meat in my mouth, savoring the deliciousness of it. It would be horrible if all her hard work is for nothing.

"What did you have to tell me?" I speak, covering my mouth with my hand while I stare at Faye with wondering eyes.

Faye succeeded in stealing my attention away from Rhys when she brought up something important that she forgot to mention since the day I came here. She said it was something about my mother, but she was interrupted midway when the next set of meals brought by the kitchen bursts inside the room.
