136 An Apology

"Whoever treated your foot did a miraculous job, miss."

Mina examines my foot further while I grip the stool to keep my balance. Her eyebrows met, and she gave me a look, questioning how I obtained such a cut. I look away from her face, pretending that I don't quite understand what she's implying. 

She sighs, reaching for the ointment on a metal container on the tub, "your cut seems deep, but if you earned it last night, it's a miracle that it healed in just hours. Someone that practices of mastered medicinal herbs helped you, and that's none other than Master Ducan." 

There's no denying that it was him. It was only the three of us last night before I blacked out. But I cannot tell Mina anything before consulting with Ducan first. She doesn't know about the events that took part last night, which is impossible. Mina must be the first one to know of any occurrences since she's closest to the king.
