4 Black

~Ouch, What in the hell has just happened to me? Why is everything around me dark dark?~

Sawyer tried calling out, being heard by absolutely no one, or at least no one who would answer his question.

Sawyer tried opening his eyes, quickly realizing that he possessed none of those. Neither had he arms legs or a body at all. As he noticed as soon as the pain in his... he wanted to say head. No. Rather the pain came from his entire being simultaneously. It was not a horrible pain. Instead it was more of a stinging like that of stubbing a toe just spread evenly throughout all of him.

~I suppose I have died haven't I ?

There is no way I survived all that not with all the technology of earth. After all I do recall feeling my skull crack and my brain come out. Or maybe that was just my imagination.~

Sawyer tried recalling the events that had passed though rather reluctantly at first.

~Stairs are fucking dangerous.

Who would have thought that nether the federation nor the fire would be my end, but instead just plain old stairs... What a lame way to die~

He lamented about his early death.

~Well at least this is not entirely unexpected. I got into this mess through proving the existence of a soul or my soul rather. So with a soul death naturally isn't the end. ~

For a dead person Sawyer could report feeling quite well even without a body.Without a body, the stray thoughts that usually clouded his mind had vanished along with his flesh and bones.

~Unbelievable, my thoughts feel so incredibly clear, as if someone had suddenly removed all that static noise out of a radio broadcast by adjusting the frequency. It's like I finally understand the language my mind operates in, while before I was the programmer I have now become the programming language myself. What a weird experience.~

however while reveling in the feeling of finally being unrestrained by his body, Sawyer failed to notice the slight suction force that was pulling him towards somewhere. Yet even if he had noticed it, there was nothing he cold do about it without Limbs or any other way to resist.

Sawyer instead already tried understanding the nature of his own existence and

searched within himself for an underlying structure that could be identified or a pattern to be found. Because Sawyer at heart was a hardcore science enthusiast who loved the act of understanding researching and figuring things out he quite quickly went to try and understand his situation and himself.

And beyond any of his expectations, what Sawyer had tried actually showed immediate results. As soon as he tried understanding himselve he suddenly saw, felt, smelled, Tasted, and other sensations he could not even begin to comprehend, a bundle made entirely out of glowing and somehow sweet tasting string like substance Made of even smaller parts each giving him the feeling of them holding some sort of numerical Value that was constantly changing multiple thousand times a second and interacting with one another .

'In a way this reminds me of a mix between neurons a computer and DNA '

'Quite odd actually that I can observe myself (or what I presume to be me at least) . I am sure this will be the key to understanding how a soul works.Let's call it soul perception. '

Right after Sawyer tried turning this way of observing himself off on on again and it worked without a hitch.

Suddenly however Sawyer felt the sucking force that had grown stronger while he was preoccupied with learning the secrets of the soul. It drew him in and without any means to resist the odd power he was whisked away into whatever was causing that suction force.
