1 First day of school

"Well, won't be that bad"

"I hope at least", I thought to myself whilst opening the gigantic door leading inside of the building specifically built for the training of beings like me, hybrids. Hybrids are offspring between a human and either a demon or an angel. Due to this, we have way more combat potential than ordinary humans.

When I walked through the school corridors, I noticed all different sorts of hybrids, demon hybrids with skin in a lot of variant colours with different horns and tails. Also angel hybrids with cute little wings on their back and half a halo floating above their head, clearly identify them as hybrids and not pure breed angels.

As for myself, I am a young demon hybrid with the same skin colour as a human, two small horns on my forehead and a rather short tail sticking out of my shirt right above my butt. I get told a lot that I am a rather odd looking demon because of my very human like appearance, which leads to confusion from time to time. I also like hide my tail in the back of my shirt, which just adds to confusion.

Oh, and I'm called Yoru.

This will be my very first day in the Hybrid School which aims to train young hybrids like me to become ready for fighting. Hybrids don't have to go to this school but they are rewarded greatly if they decide to do so. I, however, didn't really have a choice because I grew up in an orphanage and don't have any family. My parents left me in front of the orphanage as a baby. The lady of the orphanage told me that this happens a lot for the reason that angels and demons leave their partner quite often after knowing that they got pregnant or just after they lost their interest in them. They are after all something better than humans, so called celestial beings and that reflects in their mind set.

Not that I really minded having no parents, after all it had always been like this for me. Some other kids in the orphanage had it a lot harder than me, as they got into the orphanage after their parents died or gave them away as already somewhat more grown up.

It took me a while but I finally found my classroom, class 1C. Even after walking for 5 minutes I was still far from seeing of all the school building, there should be around 50 classrooms in here or even more. I entered the classroom and already saw some hybrids sitting here and there. It appeared to me as we can choose our own seating, so I took a seat in the middle of the class right beside the window. The other kids gave me a quick glance but didn't bother too much with me, as they already seemed to be acquainted with each other. The stares I got were probably because of my looks and nothing else. Sadly no one of my orphanage got transferred the same school as me. But that just meant I has to make some new friends, can't be that hard, can it?

5 minutes later the teacher finally entered the classroom.

"Hello students, my name is Michael Black, you have probably heard of my family name before but don't fear me at all I keep family and work separated."

"A colour as last name, he probably belongs to one of the seven powerful families. They are the most influential families of humanity which just shows how much worth is put into this school. Having a last name is already something that isn't ordinary, as most commoners rarely have one. Only the seven big families and other powerful families carry one", I thought.

"You all a look as though as you recognize my family name, which should put as a bit ahead already. For those who don't know, the Black family is one of the seven powerful families of humanity. Under the lead of the Blue family we have been trying to get stronger over the last couple years and this school is by far our best project. If things continue like this, they will probably be the lead family for the next decade as well. To explain it for you kids, every ten years the seven big families vote a leader family which job it is to lead humanity. After many decades of getting involved by both celestial species, the most powerful of humanity decided for this system to bring unity to humans and get rid of the chain the celestial species put onto us", Mr. Black started explaining.

"But don't worry kids, humanity also includes hybrids like you into their ranks, as most of you got abandoned by your celestial parent. This is far from being out of the ordinary because they only play around with humans like some throwaway tools.

You kids are here to get stronger for humanity and together we will achieve our freedom from their terror", he further explained.

"Anyways today isn't as serious as you might think, I just tend to get into monologuing quite easily. We will start with simple introductions so you will get to know your class mates a bit better, which might as well be your future comrades. Seeing that we have a big variety of different hybrids, please introduce yourself with your name, your race and what you know of your own specialties so far."

"Let us start with you little girl sitting right beside the window", he said as he pointed at me.
