2 Fated Encounters

"I'm glad you're okay and you didn't get hurt" he stated sincerely

"Let's try to sit up okay?" he suggested she nodded they both sat up cautiously

they were sitting on the floor, being able to see the aftermath,

as security guards were rushing toward the other man on the floor, he looked like he had passed

out where he had fallen in his crumpled business suit,

Their three suitcases were lying tumbled on the floor in various places

Her parents were rushing towards them,

his grandfather who he recognized from pictures, an older gentleman with black hair streaked

with silver and a thin beard dressed in jeans a t-shirt and a suit jacket was also hurrying towards them

"Did you guys get hurt?" Anna's mom called to her coming to their side

"oh my god sweetie are you okay?" She cried picking her up from the floor and helping anna get to her feet

looking at her from head to toe anxiously to see if her beloved daughter was injured

"I'm ok mom" anna replied

"We got too preoccupied earlier and that's why this happened," her mother said "we should have minded you better we both know how tiny you are, people tend to not notice you" she hugged her tightly "mommy and daddy are so sorry darling"

"mom it's ok it's not your fault" Anastacia tried to assure her mother who was so soft-hearted started crying on her shoulder

"Mom!" Anastacia protested "don't cry I'm okay! Justin saved me, I didn't even get a tiny bit hurt thanks to him"

she pointed at Justin her father went over to him finally joining them

"young man I'm so very grateful for what you just did," her father said to him offering his hand

"Justin my grandson!"

his grandfather embraced him suddenly in a hug cutting between them rubbing Justin's back "grandson are you all right you didn't get hurt? that was quite a fall you took kiddo!"

"I'm ok granddad I wouldn't have let her get hurt when I saw what was happening, I was right behind her" Justin explained to the adults "and I saw the whole thing there was that drunk guy who knocked into her"

at the moment as they turned to look the drunk man was being picked up off the floor and escorted away by the hotel security guards

"Oh I'm so sorry" his grandfather apologized

"I am forgetting my manners in this situation," he offered his hand to Annas father "I'm Sergio Okami and this my Grandson Justin Okami he's raised in America, it's his first time visiting me here in Japan, I saw the kids falling down I had just come to meet him I was worried I would have to be calling my son and telling him that his son was hurt in an accident as soon as he arrived here"

"Under the circumstances, it's quite all right I'm Dr. Daniel Weyland and this is my wife, Dr. Sophia Weyland, and our daughter Anastacia Weyland" he introduced them quickly "I'm glad your grandson also didn't get any injuries he reacted so quickly to the situation how exactly did you manage that catch?"

"Oh um I'm an athlete, I practice martial arts" Justin explained "I do taekwondo so I knew how to fall so we couldn't get hurt, but I was mostly worried if I couldn't reach her in time, or catch her properly if I had been off even a little bit, she might have hit her head on the floor or something, we were really lucky."

"Ahhh! Martial Arts! no wonder you moved so quickly and you kept your cool quite well when all us adults were panicking"

her father complimented him "good job do you have any belts yet?" he inquired

"I am just an ordinary black belt in Taekwondo" he replied

"Just an ordinary black belt? I don't know any other teenagers who hold black belts in anything" Mr. Weyland replied

"so that is most certainly not ordinary how many years have you been practicing it?" her mother asked fascinated

"I started learning when I was a kid, my dad did it for exercise at home, I would always think it looked

cool and would try to imitate him, so my dad started teaching me a little bit, and I liked it, so I decided to join a martial arts club when I about eight or nine and I've been practicing ever since" Justin explained

"My grandson also competed in a few tournaments, he holds a few medals" his granddad boasted proudly

"he's the pride of our family I like that he so dedicated and hardworking too, it's to a traditional discipline to it's not easy to get as good as he is for a young boy!" he thumped him on the back proudly with a happy smile his eyes twinkling

"You're full of bright potential!" her father said to him shaking his hand "you'll do well in whatever

future you build for yourself you're a good boy very honorable and selfless very brave you're

cut from a cloth we rarely see these days"

"you keep that up don't ever change it!" her mother chimed in

"Thank you," Justin, responded flushing bowing his head bashfully under all the praise

"if there is anything your family needs during your stay just add it to your bill, we will

cover your expenses for the remainder of your stay, it's the least we could do because your lovely daughter was nearly hurt, she must have been quite scared too" Mr. Okami responded

"you'll cover our expenses?" Misses Weyland asked

"ah yes I am the owner of this hotel," Sergio stated generously

"well, its family-owned me and my late wife built it, some of the artworks here are hers" he added quite proudly,

"It was all her idea, her family ancestors used to own famous Inns in japan in the old days, so we

had this idea to build a modern hotel with traditional sensibilities,

we thought it might be interesting to see if we could have some of that old culture, in terms of art

works, and exquisite beauty and atmosphere that made those old places such a sight to see, and

bring it to the modern hospitality industry,

create a special place for family's and travelers alike, and give them a unique cultural experience they will like it so much that they will keep coming back again,

my wife loved people, she loved entertaining friends,' family anyone really, she would host a huge feast for no reason, other than that it pleased her,

to have everyone she liked all together eating her food," he chuckled warmly in memory

"We started from a little bed and breakfast place, and then it got this big because my son is also very good at business and such,

he had lots of great ideas to add, and he ended up becoming co CEO when his mother passed"

"it's quite beautiful here" Mrs. Weyland replied "your wife sounds like she was a very wonderful woman, and young Justin here, he is a good boy with a bright future" she patted him on the back

"you have a heroic streak in you too, rescuing my daughter like that, such a good-looking boy don't you think anna? Her mother asked

with a flush she only agreed with her mom by bobbing her head shyly

"Anna he saved you!" she prodded gently "at least say some nice words to him"

anna went forward to him shyly but then and impulsively hugged him wrapping her arms around his neck

her fingers tangled in his hair she squeezed him a little tight around the neck "thank you for saving me back there, I don't know what might have happened to me, I really am grateful to you, I hope you have a great trip with your grandad and have lots of fun and don't have any more accidents!"

he hugged her gently "thank you, and I'm glad you didn't get hurt, I hope you have a fun and

safe trip with your parents while you're here too, he said smiling she pressed her cheek against his

Justin's was startled as a small golden flame burst to life, where their faces brushed

she gasped in surprise jerking back "I'm sorry!" she whispered, "I didn't mean to!"

"I'm not hurt" he whispered smiling "it's only a little celestial flame its harmless" he assured her

"it's the first time I'm meeting someone else like me" she whispered

he was surprised as she stepped out of his arms Justin could still feel the burst of warmth in his

cheek as he remembered what she just said

she had not met someone else like me, they were the same, she recognized him as celestial too,

pleasantly he couldn't contain his smile and his warm gaze kept meeting annas making her feel shy

and nervous butterflies erupting in her stomach

two bellboys brought their fallen suitcases back to them, on a signal from Mr. Okami, a concierge came over, "escort, these VIP guest to the nicest family suit we have," he ordered "make sure they have everything they need put their tab on my account"

"oh, it's really too much Mrs. Weyland" breathed "you don't have to!"

"nonsense!" Mr. Okami cut her off shaking his head "your family will stay in the suit and enjoy the rest of your holiday

on me, if this had been more serious and anyone had gotten hurt, it would have become a much bigger issue"

"We would not have sued" her father stated "it was an accident we aren't those kinds of people and we can afford to pay"

"But I would still have felt responsible given that it happened here at my hotel" Mr. Okami insisted "I would have felt most regretful to know a nice family came here to have a lovely time only to meet with such misfortune,"

"and you're both great Doctors, I've heard of your work, The Doctors Weyland, you have helped a lot of people your reputations precede you, I have a few friends who are doctors, and they admire you, and when your news comes out in the medical world, they show it to us, and can't stop talking about it more than once,"

"it's an honor to meet good people and I never imagined, I would meet you both like this so, please

allow an old man to treat you to a good time since it all ended safely, and no one was hurt my heart will rest easy if you accept it"

thank you!" Mr. Weyland replied taking his hand the pair shook hands warmly "it's great to meet you as well thank you so much,"

"allow the concierge to get you guys safely checked in," Mr. Okami said "I hope you continue

to have a lovely time in Japan while you're here, no more scary accidents!"

"of course," Mrs. Weyland agreed with a smile "we will keep a closer eye on her from now on"

"young lady, next time walk in the front, where everyone can see you," his grandpa said to her

"you're a very lovely child, you shouldn't be hiding, how about my grandson personally escort you? just to be on the safe side ok"

Justin quickly grabbed annas suitcase "I'm happy to help!" he agreed "I have to check in too as it happens"

his granddad chuckled "you're right! but I already have suit arranged for you go to check-in at the front desk"

their little group made their way to the front desk, anna and Justin walking side by side in the front this time

Justin towed annas suitcase while the concierge accompanied them

anna noticing what Justin really looked like, he was taller than her, dressed in a dark blue buttoned shirt tucked

into a pair of black skin-tight jeans, she could see his muscular thighs and outline of his muscles flexing as he moved his long legs

a pair of bright blue basketball sneakers were on his feet and a dark blue coat hung from his shoulders

it didn't look too grown up, on him either, it suited him well,

it was one of those coats that were made of a material that clung to his shoulders,

emphasizing their outline and making them look broad and sharp,

it fluttered when he moved and was styled to look like a military coat,

but it just made him look really cool,

with the way his hair hung messy uninhibited everywhere he looked like a rebellious bad boy walking next to her

she was secretly delighted with him as they passed the peach tree to the front desk beyond it,

a breeze lifted their hair blowing down through the open area it swept up a stream of four peach blossoms

and they swirled off the tree and down to the two children below

seeming to sweep on the breeze directly to the pair the blossoms landing in anna and Justin's hands and one

landed on Justin's hair

"oh so pretty!" Anna breathed in delight admiring the delicate pink and white blossoms in her hands

Justin picked the one on his hair in amusement he arranged his blossoms on the curled brim of annas hat,

"these suit you much better than me!" he remarked

she grinned up at him with sparkling bright eyes and latched herself unto his free arm Justin's heart skipped

as she slipped her hand into his, her fingers slipped between his small and delicate soft and warm intertwining with his

he really couldn't understand what it was about anna that made it hard to resist her she was younger than

him if his father saw him, he would probably smack him upside the head and give him a long speech about being

responsible for himself when he was around girls,

but every time anna smiled at him he felt himself go soft inside and he became defenseless all of a sudden,

he should put distance between them as was proper,

but he didn't want to hurt her feelings by telling her she shouldn't be so friendly with him so easily,

she didn't seem to be aware of herself as a girl and he didn't want to push her away he suddenly

wanted to protect that small warm hand that was now held so trustingly in his

the pair continued to the front desk it didn't take long to get checked in and soon it was time to go

their separate ways as they were going up to their rooms in the elevator

"let's hang out tomorrow!" Justin suggested, "there's a lot of things here to see and do it will be more fun if we do stuff together!"

"Okay!", she agreed with a bob of her head "we can meet after breakfast, or is that too early to hang out?"

Justin smiling shrugged "it's fine with me I don't mind however early it is"

"ok so see you tomorrow then!" she said smiling the elevator stopped on their floor and anna and

her parents and the concierge and bellboy with their luggage got off with them she waved

goodbye to Justin as the doors closed taking Justin up to his floor.
