44 Princess coming Home

As both Logan and his wife Yvonne were magic knights, it did not take them long to find out, that they had some visitors. None of these 'guests' really seemed to hide their presence after all.

It did not look like Ethan had already arrived, nor could Myra sense anything about Lynn, but when her parents opened the door in front of their little house, she noticed that there might be another addition to their family soon.

How long had it been? It was not even a full year since she had left and yet it felt like she had been gone for a long time.

She had seen more of the world, had her own place to live with her own little family. There were really a lot of changes that happened in Myra's life that completely changed around her situation in a matter of just these months.

"Mom, Dad, I'm home!" Myra shouted and the only thing keeping her from running right to the door was little Rae still sitting on the panther cat feeling a little bit shy.

Her parents stared at the two panther cats for a while and the little group that was just getting down from their backs. They just wanted to approach and take a closer look, when the two cats suddenly disappeared in mid-air and were just gone.

"Now they go home." Rae said, already used to Brightpaws disappearing all the time, Brightpaws who was still happily being carried by her with no intention of leaving as well.

"Myra!" Yvonne was really happy to finally see her daughter return from the academy for the first time.

She gave Myra a hug and quickly inspected her with a critical eye as if to make sure she was still healthy and eating well. When Yvonne finally took a look at the little child hiding behind Myra's legs, you could easily see her shock and then her mind doing the math.

Well, barely gone for a year, it could at least not be her biological child, but with the girl so attached to Myra, and Myra looking at the child with such love in her eyes, she didn't even need to ask to quickly figure out their relationship.

It would be rather rude to assume though, so she still did all the formalities that would be expected and smiled at the little child.

"How have you been Myra? I see you've not come back alone this time?" Her father just trailed behind Yvonne and didn't say anything. He just smiled and let her mother start with all the introductions.

Myra laughed and looked a little bit guilty to suddenly come to her parents with all these drastic changes in her life. She picked up Rae and started to introduce everyone.

"Mom, Dad this is our daughter Rae, she is currently four years old and a really lovely girl." Myra did not know how one would introduce their adopted child, but she was proud of little Rae and happy to have her mother meet the girl.

"Look what an adorable little girl she is Logan! Little Rae, want to let grandma hold you for a while?"

She looked at the child with a smile, and slightly reached out with her arms, making Rae first look at Myra and when she found no real answer there finally decided to 'take a look' at this new grandma.

While Yvonne picked up Rae, as well as Brightpaws, because the little girl simply refused to let go of the big kitten, Myra glanced at her mother's rather big belly, a question on her face that she didn't exactly know how to ask.

"Yes child, you're getting a new sibling soon." Yvonne had already noticed her looks and happily informed her daughter.

With both Logan and Yvonne being magic knights, even if they were not powerful, it was not unusual for mages and other magic users get kids late in their life, just getting a kids could take years though as magic used to interfere a lot.

"This is Aaron, my boyfriend." Myra continued to introduce Aaron as well and Aaron quickly earned himself two stares of Myra's parents who inspected him as they did with Rae earlier.

"Nice to meet you." Aaron's stoic expression had returned. It was funny to see how his expression changed when looking or talking to Myra and Rae and then comparing it with his interactions with everyone else.

"The father of the child?" Logan curiously asked, wondering about it a bit.

"Well, we adopted her, neither of us is related by blood yet." Myra told him quickly.

"Yet?" Not just Logan, but pretty much everyone else looked at her with the strange answer she just provided.

"Uh, well we could help her with a few bloodlines and improvements. A body is just a bunch of materials after all, changing it a little to improve it is possible."

"We still have to wait for the right time though, it is not good to mess with a body too much while it is still so young and malleable. We will start by improving her strength and fitness and then go from there." Myra explained.

"You seem to have learned quite a bit at the capital in the few months you were gone, but why don't we go inside instead of standing outside here?"

It did not take long for Rae to get used to her new grandparents and as both of them happily accepted Rae as their granddaughter the atmosphere in the little house was rather good.

Funny enough their youngest adopted daughter, was the first to bring home a grandchild and as if to continue the tradition, that child was also adopted. Other parents would have been disappointed with such a situation, but Logan and Yvonne were just happy about such an adorable addition to the family.

When Ethan arrived a few hours later, all kinds of stories were told and Myra did her best to not mention her strange plans and her status in the city. She just skipped over the parts that she didn't want her parents to know.

This basically included everything related to her friends work on their own kingdom, her shop or even that she held a title of a princess, either of a foreign country that didn't even exist and was purely made up, or of Luminos' royal family depending on who you would ask.

If Ethan didn't point out some things, they would likely never have found out, sadly though he didn't leave it alone.

"Say Myra. What's your bloodline names? I do remember you had some right? I have heard of a strange thing when I was at the academy."

"Ah, what strange thing Ethan? Why would you like to know?"

"You see, during the academy examinations, nearly a year ago, there was a young woman about your age and height taking the oath. She has black hair, pale skin … and red eyes."

Everyone instantly looked at Myra and Ethan. What was her brother referring to? Black hair wasn't uncommon and there were lots of girl that had black hair. Red eyes however were extremely rare as one would need a special constitution for such an eye color. They would not normally appear.

"I also heard her name was Myra Elení Aer." Ethan pointed out and everyone was quiet for some time before all started to ask questions at the same time.

Myra did her best to calm them down and tried to explain.

"I didn't know the meaning of this name at the time. Well, currently the royal family thinks that I'm some foreign princess, while they let everyone else believe that I'm part of the royal family."

Yvonne stared at Myra as if to scold her daughter. "So you just forgot to tell us about that little part."

Myra nodded guiltily. "I'm sorry I don't want to make you worry and I also didn't want to drag all that trouble that is following me because of it to you."

Logan still frowned while Yvonne gave Myra a hug. "Dear, don't worry about it. We're old enough to deal with all kinds of trouble, don't try to do more than you can just because you want to shield us."

"That reminds me, we brought some gifts. Now that I'm a princess I have a lot of things, so I thought I could give you some to improve the situation here. I'm sure Ethan and Lynn could also use some funds and it can't hurt to prepare a few things for our new brother or sister as well."

The story continued, this time in a little bit more detail than before.

Rae was playing with Brightpaws, happily eating all kinds of cookies that Yvonne had made while everyone else just chatted and shared all the experiences they had made.

"Aaron, Myra, when will you …, well I guess you will marry at some point?" Yvonne already assumed that Myra and Aaron would marry, but it would be rude to just make that assumption.

It was normal in Luminos for a couple to marry and with Myra already being 15 and Aaron soon turning 18 there would be nothing special about it. In the end, it was the decision of the people who wanted to form that kind of bond though.

Myra blushed and looked at Aaron. "We didn't really discuss it yet. I wanted you to meet him first."

"Aww, what a good kid you are." Yvonne gave her yet another hug. "Of course if you love each other you have our blessings. It will also be good for Rae and make your status official, she won't have to face any questions about her parents that way."

"You better take good care of our little girl, well, of both of them actually little Rae is an additional surprise." Logan laughed and advised Aaron in a friendly manner.

"I will not let anyone harm them Sir." Aaron just accepted the task without blinking an eye.

"Oh Myra, have you already heard about the divine fire acting up? They say there's going to be a passage to an old dimension opening soon." Ethan brought up a topic that Myra had not yet heard about.

Yvonne quickly tried to dissuade them from the idea. "All kinds of powers already arrived there. They didn't even stop in a small village like ours, but I have seen some travellers going up the mountain. It would be dangerous to mix with all those power and I don't want any of you to get hurt."

"Wouldn't that be bad for Myra? If I remember correctly, that statue is a splitting image of this younger sister of mine." Ethan grinned. It had been a long time that he called her sister.

"They have likely already seen it and there is not much we can do about it. It's a statue in Luminos though, it wouldn't be surprising to have it resemble someone from the royal family right? They might just think it's some ancestor of the royals."

Aaron nodded and agreed. "I don't think the statue will become a big problem. It might cause some people to recognize her, but it's not as if Myra's name isn't well known by now."

Even though she's the princess that's shrouded in mystery the most, with barely any information of her, her existence is still common knowledge. There were quite a lot of people at the entrance examinations after all."

"It sounds like an interesting place, but I'm not happy with the idea of going to a dangerous place with a lot of powerful people around. I can protect myself and I can also protect Rae, but it will be harder to protect all of you as well at the same time while also limiting my powers to not destroy the whole place."

"How strong are you exactly sis?" Ethan wondered.

"It's not so much about how strong I am, it's more about how much I can channel through this body before it burns out like a candle. I really don't want to take the time to reform it and start from the very beginning again. I already spent 10 years working on it and constantly improving it."

Ethan was rather impressed. "I never heard of someone who can even reform a body. That would basically make you immortal! So what if you don't burn out the body? How strong are you without harming yourself at the same time?"

Myra gave it some thought, but it was hard to compare, as everyone she could compare herself with was just too weak in her eyes.

"I guess I can currently use the power of a strong violet grade mage or knight, but my magic control and efficiency is likely more that of a Hierophant in this body. A normal violet grade power user is really not a threat. It would take a dozen of them to fight me if I were alone just with this body."

"I can use short bursts of power though to use earthly grade magic, but it puts a strain on the body. I haven't met anyone strong enough to compare that kind of power yet though. I could probably level a city if I really have to without killing myself, but anything beyond that would mean to start a new body."
