37 Moonlight Dance

When her classes were finally over in the early afternoon, Myra quickly made her way to the city. Once again she was reminded of their lack of proper transportation. They had no mounts, not even simple horses, which made travelling kind of annoying.

Running and jumping on the road to the city once more and entering through one of the gates, she finally arrived at the inn. It was easy to see who occupied this little inn, as lots of kids were already playing in the garden and their excited voices could be heard all over the place.

Like a smart adult, she obviously brought them little gifts in the form of sweets and all kinds of tasty things. Maybe her own love of food did influence her decision about bringing sweets for them as well, but who would blame her?

When the kids realized that 'Miss Myra' was visiting them, they quickly all came over. Their excitement got even bigger when they noticed that Myra brought sweets for them.

"As I've said before I will teach all of you some skills." Myra told them while they were munching on the sweet treats that they just received. Rae was sitting right next to Myra while she explained the various things that she would be able to teach them and would probably have climbed into her lap if not for the fact that Myra was busy teaching them.

In the end, seven of the kids wanted to learn more about magic and five of them wanted to become a magic knight. As the two most dominant professions in Luminos, it was no surprise that the majority of the kids wanted to learn how to become a mage or a knight.

The others had various interests and while Myra could teach them in some areas, for others she would just have to wait for their school to be completed, then she could hire tutors to teach these skills at the school as well.

Once her little teaching session was over, she let them return to their games and got ready to check on the progress of their shop. As there was also a workroom and a living place included in the building, it would be easy enough to set up a little home here as well.

"I wanna come too!" Rae quickly decided that she would follow Myra, even if she didn't get to play with the others.

"Sure, if you want to join me, you can." She picked up the little girl and then they started their way through the city. "Oh, look how far they've already come with the building! Isn't it amazing how fast they can create the houses with the help of a little magic?"

Rae just nodded and stared at the big house. The kid had no way to compare how long it would take to build a house with or without magic. In the end she was still too young to worry about such things.

All the walls and floors were done, just the workspace area at the back with the forge and various tools was still not complete yet. There was also no furniture in the rooms yet.

"Do you want to help me prepare a magic formation darling?"

"What does it do?" Rae was always curious about the things Myra showed her. For the little girl, everything related to magic was amazing as the kids had all their lives heard about the wonders of magic.

"It lets you go from one place to another without walking all the way there." Myra tried to explain.

"Like a bird?" – "No dear not exactly like a bird. It's more like stepping into the formation on one side and then right away coming out at a different formation on the other end, without travelling in between."

"Like making a big jump?" – "Yes, something like that. We just have to make the distance shorter for the person jumping, while leaving the distance the same for everyone else."

Even making the point of 'leaving it the same for everyone else' showed that Myra was used to a very different scale. Who in their right mind would actually consider shrinking a whole world just to 'jump' farther? Well, Myra obviously would seriously consider it, not that she had any intention of giving it a try.

Unknown to Myra, the child picked up her habits. What was impossible for others, was just a normal exercise for Rae. She couldn't properly cast magic on her own yet, but she already learned that many things were possible that others could not do.

Myra looked around the house for a good room that she could transform into a transference room and soon found one that she liked. There were quite a lot of rooms in the building and compared to her own dorm room in the academy they all seemed to be huge.

She picked one for herself and quickly put her name in magical letters directly on the door.

"How does it look?" she asked Rae who was standing right next to her and watching her work and quickly got the answer she was hoping for. "It looks nice."

"Do you want to have a room too?" – "One only for me?" – "Yes, a room just for you."

When Rae nodded and Myra led them around again in order for the child to pick a room she liked, Myra was really happy with the decision to have a living place like this in the city.

A home was a really nice thing to have and since her parents were now living rather far away she would have to wait until she could fly to travel there more often.

When Rae picked the room right next to hers, Myra smiled and then helped with the name. It was just an empty room, but Rae seemed really happy about it, how could Myra not be happy as well?

She quickly calculated in her head how much power it would take to transfer from here to the academy and sighed as she was still too weak to use such an amount of power regularly.

'I guess I just have to make lots and lots of money so we can compensate with resources. I'm constantly improving, but it will still be decades before I am able to use my full power as I like and probably at least a year or two before I can teleport this distance without worries.'

A year just seemed to long for her to always travel with normal ways. There simply wasn't enough time and every day that she could not be here, was a day too long for her.

"I can't come here every day yet, but we can look for furniture and other things and by the time everything is ready I should have some ways of using the transference formation every day."

"Well, we first have to make it! Come, let me show you what it means to really cast some proper space magic."

Their rooms now claimed, they returned to the room that Myra decided would become their transference room. She also marked the door with a stylized portal symbol before they started to work on the actual formations.

It started with various supporting spells that helped to stabilize the house and the surrounding walls, before Myra added some runes to prevent any aura from leaking outside. The windows were spelled with an illusion that would just show a normal room from outside, while the door was magically locked and strengthened.

Just the preparations alone used up the remaining day and they didn't even start with the actual formation for the transference array itself.

When Myra noticed that Rae was close to falling asleep, she stopped what she was doing and decided to end their work for today. She returned to the inn and before they had even arrived, Rae was already sleeping.

"Sleep well." Myra smiled happily at the little kid who was now sleeping quietly in the bed with the covers pulled over her, before giving the child a little kiss and leaving the room.

Myra didn't look forward to return to the academy at this time. It would be another long run and short sleep for her, but somehow she already got used to it. If it became really necessary, she could always use magic to remove her fatigue, not that it was very good for one's health if used too often.

--

Another day passed that became mostly an exercise in learning about different ways to sleep during class for Myra. In the afternoon she prepared a simple transference array and a formation to block the magic aura. She skipped on all the fortification and strengthening magic, because she didn't really expect any attacks directly at the academy dorms.

Completing the array she finally remembered that she told Aaron that she would dance for him. Walking to his room she quickly knocked on the door before coming in.

"Aaron, I have some time now. When do you want me to dance? Shall we go over to the little pond? There should be enough room."

Her words made Aaron smirk and he just told her that it would be better if it was later.

"Maybe during the night, we have both moons out in the sky today, I'm sure that would look pretty."

Not thinking much about this setup, Myra just agreed and decided to take a nap right in his room before she would face yet another sleepless night.

Once the sun disappeared over the horizon and was replaced by Gaia's two moons brightening the sky somewhat, even in the middle of the night, Aaron gently woke up Myra. It took a lot of time, but as long as she was not under the influence of alcohol at least she would wake up at some point.

"Mhm, is it time?" – "Yes, I thought it might be a good idea to head to the little grove south of the academy. It's pretty and no one will be there."

"If you really think it's necessary to go so far away. It's just a dance. Oh fine, let's go. Don't forget to bring that dress or whatever."

She was usually wearing pants or a robe and expected Aaron to pick something that was generally seen as more feminine for her like a dress. Aaron just nodded before he wrapped them both with invisibility and aura concealment magic causing Myra to raise an eyebrow.

"When did you improve on that so much? A little bit more work and even I will have a hard time noticing you."

Aaron just shrugged as if it was nothing special. "You said I couldn't come along when you're in danger unless I learned it, so I learned it."

Both of them left the academy soon after and headed for the grove. It was indeed a quiet place with no other humans around for miles. A little spring could be found at the side of the area and both old and younger trees covered the place on all sides. With the pathway leading to the grove twisting and turning quite often, it was completely hidden from sight.

Aaron sat down next to a little tree and placed a folded bundle of clothes right next to him. Myra was curious what he picked for her and quickly unwrapped it. It did not take long for her to see what he picked for her, but she did not find the expected dress, - at least not a typical one.

"Seriously? You picked this?!" she rolled her eyes and looked at him, still not sure if she should frown or laugh.

"Mhm, you promised I could pick, I picked." Aaron's grin was even bigger now than it had been when he managed to trick her.

"Fine, I did say that. I should be more careful about my words." she grumbled a little bit more but then decided it might be rather interesting.

With no one but Aaron around, it wouldn't be as embarrassing and the idea of wearing something to entice and charm was new and exciting in a strange way.

Myra moved behind some trees to change her clothes and blushed even more when she found some skimpy underwear matching the outfit among the clothes. 'Pff, you will so regret this at some point.' she thought to herself with a little amused smile while quickly changing out of her normal clothes and into the new ones.

'Why did I even bother changing behind a tree?' she really questioned her stupidity to allow for this whole dance thing to happen.

The underwear was bad enough, the lacy things barely covered her private parts and the thin black fabric, while it was at least covering her, it did not leave a lot to the imagination.

Now the dress, if someone wanted to call this a dress, was even worse. Myra would call it sleepwear as it was not much more than a pretty chemise and even if she used it in her own or Aaron's room just to go to bed she would feel exposed.

It was black and had the same lacy style as the underwear. Unlike the underwear though, it was made of a sheer material making it easy to see through. The halter-less outfit started below her shoulders and reached her upper thighs. The lacy parts would be at the top of the outfit crossing over the chest and arms and also at the lower parts near the thighs. Everything in between not covered by the lace, was easily visible through the fabric.

When she finally stepped out from the trees and slowly walked to a place a little bit away where she had enough room to move, she was blushing fiercely. Myra had put her shoes away and started to dance barefoot. As the grass wasn't high in this place it was easy enough to move around.

The quick and elegant steps and the romantic atmosphere with the moonlight shining and the innocent young woman twirling and dancing in front of him caused Aaron to stare in awe.

Myra danced and danced and Aaron did not dare to look away for even a moment. There was no magic involved that he knew of, but he was still as if entranced.

When she finally completed the dance and shyly came back to him he was still staring.

Aaron was still looking at her, enjoying the sight of his girlfriend in a skimpy outfit and he did not want to ruin the mood by saying something.

He would have expected her to run back behind the trees to change into her normal outfit again, but instead Myra was just standing there. When he noticed that she was slightly trembling and realized that she was close to tears he instantly felt ashamed.

"I'm sorry, I didn't think wearing this would make you cry." he did his best to console her and quickly moved closer to embrace her in his arms.

"Do you like it?" she mumbled and he couldn't help but agree. "If you don't feel comfortable it's alright though, I won't force you to do anything you don't want to, even if you do look amazing."

"Silly Aaron. If you like it, it's fine. I was just scared you didn't like it. You didn't say anything for such a long time, I thought you didn't find me …"

His face instantly brightened with such an unexpected change of the situation. "Shh.. calm down. You're the prettiest little fairy I've ever seen."

They spent some more time together with just the two of them at the grove before they finally returned. If the others had known, there would likely be another discussion and some more jokes at the next breakfast meeting, but tonight was something just between Myra and Aaron.

Happy about the outcome, even if it was rather unexpected for Myra, they both fell asleep shortly after returning to Aaron's room. It was yet another happy memory they shared that they would treasure for a very long time.
