57 Is this really Vacation?

The next morning I awoke to the ship shaking, lights flashing, and the sound of an alarm that was quickly turned off. Wondering what was happening, I got up and went to see. When I got to the Captains Bridge I found Lola giving orders while a screen above showed a ship charging it's weapons and about to fire upon us.

"Anything I could do to help?" I asked since I was pretty familiar with the workings of ships at this point and may be some help if they needed it.

Lola who was punching buttons on her console without looking back shook her head. "No, we have this under control".

I watched the situation unfolding in front of me and the more I thought about it, the more ludicrous it felt to me. These are Daxamite's that were not only capable of breathing in space, but I was also sure just one of them was enough to destroy the ship in front of us with their bare hands if they wanted. Yet here we were inside the ship exchanging fire with them instead.

It wasn't my ship so I continued to sit aside and watch. Not long after, the ship in front of us stopped firing and entered hyperspace obviously choosing to give up on the battle and run away after realizing their firepower and shields were not as advanced as the Daxamites.

"Ugh, damn Pirates" Said Sodam angrily.

"Is this something that happens often?" I asked out of curiosity more than fear. Even though I was the only one that couldn't breathe in space long term.

Lola got up from her Captains chair and started checking the damage to the ship on a nearby screen as Sodam and Telos walked my way. "This ship used to be a small cargo ship before the Captain bought it and modified it, because of this we often have Pirates attacking us for our nonexistent cargo" Replied Telos before looking over at Sodam and speaking to him. "Would you like to finish our spar that was interrupted?".

Sodam nodded and walked to the training room with Telos, curious I followed behind them. As they started sparing, I wasn't really impressed. Their movements were slow and they appeared to both be getting tired very quickly. The only cool thing worth mentioning was their martial arts that I hadn't seen before. This martial art simply did not exist on earth and was very interesting to me.

Not long after the two were done fighting, the door to the training room opened. Without much thought I went in to talk with them.

"WAIT! DON'T COME IN HE-" yelled Telos, but he was too late, I had already stepped inside. My body crumbled to the floor like a rag doll as an immense pressure attempted to crush me. Sodam springing into action shouted out "Training Room twelve times gravity off".

Hearing his words, I started to understand as I stood back up and dusted myself off. I felt the Daxamite home planet and Earth probably had similar gravity by the feel of things. I had very little knowledge or experience to go on, but I assumed this was about twelve times the gravity of earth.

"Sorry about that Aeric, are you okay?I forgot Lola hadn't gone into much detail when she gave you the tour". Sodam had looked nervous at first, but that had changed into surprise when he had saw me stand back up. "It seems we worried for nothing though, you seem quite strong".

I had given them my first name when I had introduced myself to them, but I left out the fact that I was royalty. I didn't want our trip to be awkward. I had no worry about them knowing my identity, it should be okay considering I wasn't on earth or in front of any of Earth's heroes.

Hearing Sodam's words, I couldn't help but chuckle. "I thought you guys were weak at first as well despite knowing you are daxamites, so we are even. Little did I know you were training under twelve times gravity. I can take this much gravity, I was just caught by surprise when I walked in. When either of you feel up to it, I wouldn't mind sparing with you myself".

The three of us talked for some time before the two of them went to shower and change, they agreed to spar with me tomorrow sometime. I was looking forward to it, but until then I figured id test out the training facility myself so I yelled out. "Training room thirteen times gravity".

*Unauthorized User* said a robotic voice in response as Lola poked her head into the training room. "Give me a second, I'll authorize you for the training area". A few moments later Lola returned and called out to me from the doorway. "You should be able to give commands within the training facility now. Go for it, just don't kill yourself by getting cocky or showing off. Believe it or not, this machine has killed quite a few people even with all it's safety protocols".

"Noted and thanks for giving me access" I replied before speaking to the air again. "Training room thirteen times gravity".

This time I was ready for it and had my legs spread shoulder length apart as I prepared for the heavy burden of weight to descend on me. They had different gym equipment in the room, but I couldn't currently use them under this pressure so I started doing calisthenics and after that I started practicing my martial arts with a pretend opponent.

I hadn't had a workout like this...ever. While at home in my own training facility I could fight against any foe I wanted and learn new things, but I could not adjust gravity. I felt I should take advantage of such technology while I could.

After a strenuous workout, I had started to create a puddle of sweat beneath me while my clothes were fully drenched .
