Inside The Warriors Tower

Quincy Jackson had just turned eight years old the day King Moonlight had thrown him into the tower to get some real world experience after training for so long. A typical eight year old would probably be at school doing early math equations, recess, and sucking on juice boxes, but after a near death experience, the young Quincy decided he wanted to live life on his own terms and become a Hero like the one he admired.

He would be lying if he said he knew it would be this hard though. He had been hungry for a full day the first time his request for food was denied and that was almost a full week ago. Since then he had found a couple of bug like creatures and some rain water drops on a couple of leaves. He was barely holding on and had little to no energy.

Lying prone under the cover of some brush, he watched the green goblin like creature that was the same size as him have a fierce fight with another goblin. Both of them had small sharp knives that looked like they were sharpened each day. Quincy's plan was to attack whichever one wins and hope for the best with his limited training. It wasn't the best of plans, but it was the best he could think of on the spot in his current situation.

Normally he would not have done something so crazy, but after the third day of being hungry, food is all you begin to think about. His crazed eyes watched with excitement as the goblins slashed at and weakened each other. Quincy was slowly and surely becoming just as wild as them the longer he stayed within the tower. It was a common sight to see the monsters and even sometimes people cannibalize each other to feed their hunger and he would bet all he had that the goblins right now were fighting to eat each other.

The tower tutorial floors were filled with traps, dangerous elements such as acid rain, poisonous bogs that would cause a poisonous fog on some mornings, and even an unlimited variety of monsters. It was a survival of the fittest type of place. Many people each day go missing after entering the tower due to not being able to complete a level and exit. A very select few choose to live here and slowly get stronger, but they usually like to stick to themselves like Quincy had been doing.

It was a place you couldn't trust others in. They were likely to stab you in the back for whatever you had. The harsh environment had the potential to either make or break a person. How you did depended on your mindset, previous training, and resourcefulness. Most entered unprepared both mentally and physically.

Quincy's heart started to speed up once he realized the smaller of the two goblins was slowly bleeding out and would finally soon die. He now had two choices, wait and hope the Goblin that was dying lands a couple more hits and weakens his enemy a bit more before he died or attack now while the obvious victor was distracted.

A normal person would have probably waited, but Quincy was not only typically fearless due to his previous brush with death, but he was also now hungry. Without missing a beat he ran up from behind the goblin with a jagged rock in hand and slammed it down on the back of the stronger goblins head. He repeated the process until the Goblin had stopped moving and was dead.

The other goblin that was still slowly dying due to loss of blood saw this and immediately slashed his dagger in Quincy's direction only to see the blade be blocked by the kids weird metallic bracers. Quincy didn't stop at just blocking the attack either as he quickly grabbed the dagger of the goblin he had just defeated that had turned into nothing but a pile of items upon it's death. Using the new weapon, Quincy slashed out at the slowly dying goblin in front of him.

He was slow due to hunger and had missed, but when the Goblin lunged at him again, he used the Goblins momentum against him and placed the dagger within the Goblins path causing the Goblin to stab himself and finally die.

Just like the goblin corpse before, the goblin he just killed disappeared in an orange light before a number of items dropped to the ground in his place.

...

...

In Quincy's limited experience after surviving a little while within the tower, points were the hardest thing to come by and could only be gotten if you fought with something a lot stronger than yourself and won. It was both a blessing and a curse that everything within the tower was stronger than Quincy and the only thing keeping him alive was his lack of fear, creativity, his godly defensive bracers, and limited martial arts training.

Up until now Quincy had been putting all of his points into luck, dex, and int. Thanks to his higher than a normal human dexterity, he was quick to respond to the goblins attacks, and his luck had helped him in obtaining more drops than normal. So far int had not paid off in any way. He had wrongly thought that it would make him smarter if he put points into it.

Remembering the previous fight, this time he decided to add the points to agility. Immediately he felt the change within his body and smiled. This is why his King had sent him here. The tower was incredibly dangerous, but it was also equally rewarding for those who had it in them to challenge it. Picking up the goblin meat which was basically video game meat, he grabbed it and then started a fire using the brush he had just been hiding in and the lighter he had brought into the tower with him.

After eating and finally getting rid of the hunger pangs that had caused him to go temporarily insane, he looked in the direction where he remembered the strongest goblin had walked from and started heading in that direction. It was a fifty fifty gamble, but if the towers system was right, he could find some more useful items to help with his survival.

After walking for around fifteen minutes he saw a small cave that he assumed was the Goblins personal living quarters. Entering it with a bit of caution, he forced himself to get over the smell inside and explore deeper within. The further he walked inside, the more he saw things he wished he hadn't saw. Goblins were vicious creatures that liked to torture and play with people before killing them. Quincy had to step over a number of dead before he found a chest in the back that looked different than the rest of the surroundings.

The golden chest was the first he had seen, but he had heard stories from Barbara that although rare, all of the warriors tower chest's looked the same. If you were lucky enough to find one, you could obtain amazing items that could be used inside and outside the tower. The whole time Barbara was inside the tower she had only found two different chest's herself. One of them was her current costume and the other was a cloak she had given to King Moonlight. Everything else she had gotten from the tower had been monster drops.

Quincy was excited to see what item he would receive and quickly opened the chest which revealed an old brown book that looked like it could turn to dust at any time. Picking it up the warrior towers voice was heard inside his head. **You have found a basic magical inheritance, would you like to absorb it's contents?**

Quincy's heart was full of expectation as he replied loudly. "YES!"
