7 How Catra de-Stresses
After the Great War everything was at peace again. Perfuma started helping Catra with her issues. She began showing her how to meditate and cope with things that make her angry or stressed. Additionally she showed Catra some actions to help her relieve stress. Perfuma showed Catra how to paint and surprisingly Catra had a natural talent to paint and draw beautifully! Catra began drawing even when she wasn't stressed. She began sketching things, mostly Adora secretly whenever she could, It became such a thing that she had a books filled with sketches with Adora in different perspectives. There were many of her laughing, sitting and looking far off, eating and even some of her sleeping. One of her favorites was a drawing of Adora looking up, smiling with such great detail that it looked amazing. Of course knowing Catra she never told Adora any of this and it remained her greatest secret. One day the best friend squad decided to go to other kingdoms to check up on after the war.
"Are you sure you don't want to come Catra?" Adora asked propping an arm on the bed that they were laying on to look at the feline. Catra shook her head, turning to look at her lover right in her gorgeous icy blue eyes.
"I think I'll just stay here and enjoy the quiet." She said scooting over to get closer to Adora. Adora smiled and cupped Catras face.
"Alrighty love" She said caressing Catras fluffy check. "I'll miss you" she said grinning and looking lovingly at Catra. Catra smiled.
"I'll miss you too babe" she said leaning into Adora's hand, lightly purring. Then suddenly Adora grinned and grabbed Catras face.
"You'll have to make it up to me when I come back." Adora said softly, leaning closer until there was just a small gap between them. Catras face reddened as her brain came up with a list of scenarios to explain Adora's comment. Catra struggled to process everything and began to stutter.
"I-um-Uh-" Adora's laugh cut her off, she grabbed Catras waist to pull her body closer and shook her head.
"Naughty Kitten what are you thinking about?" she said giggling, and connecting her forehead with her girlfriends. Catra rolled her eyes still blushing.
"Shut up" she grumbled hugging Adora back burying her face in her chest hiding her flushed face. "I'll think about it." Catras muffled voice escaped the protecting of Adora's chest. Adora nodded and hugged her tight, not wanting to spend the day without her but respected her wanting some quiet.
"I don't have to go... They could go without me, we can stay the whole day in bed" she said stroking Catras hair, inhaling her favorite smell in the world, Catra. "Like this" Catra shook her head
"As much as I want that, they need She-Ra" Catra said softly not wanting to leave the comfort and security of Adora's embrace. Adora groaned.
"She-Ra can go by herself. I wanna stay with my girlfriend" she said planting her face in Catras soft growing hair. Adora felt Catra smile but shake her head,
"Just make sure you don't replace me Adora" Catra said half teasing and half worried. Adora grabbed Catras shoulders and tore her from her tight grip making her face Adora's serious face.
"You must think I'm a complete idiot if you think for a second I'll consider anyone to love aside from you Catra." She said sternly. Catra softly smiled
"An idiot? yes I do" she responded teasingly, but pecked Adora's lips softly and quickly. "My idiot. I'll have sparkles and arrow boy protect you from any unwanted She-Ra fans." She said firmly "No ones going near my girlfriend." Adora smiled and nodded.
"You do that Catra" she responded. They began to close the gap between them when they heard a knock at their door.
"guys? We have to leave now or we won't get there in time" Glimmer spoke past the door.
"Come In!" Adora said quickly kissing Catra and sat up to greet Glimmer. Catra stayed laying down for a second grinning before sitting up too. Glimmer teleported into their room with her hands on her hips.
"I've learned my lesson not to teleport in your room." She said with a smirk. Adora's and Catra's face turn red and they look into other directions. Adora cleared her throat
"Where's bow?" she asked changing the subject.
"He and Sea Hawk are getting the boat ready to visit Salines first. You guys should start getting ready now if we want to leave on time" she said tapping her foot looking at the couple still in bed with bed heads. "Maybe brush your hair first" she said holding back a laugh. Catra rolled her eyes and patted her hair realizing how bad it was her ears flattened and she began trying to tame her wild hair.
"Catra isn't coming on the check up." Adora said advocating for the busy cat who was too focused on defeating her hair in battle. Glimmers face turned to concern
"Is it because of Mermista? I'm sure she'll forgive Catra." Glimmer said worried for her feline friend. Catra stopped trying to comb her hair and turned to Glimmer.
"Its not that Sparkles I'd just like some quiet time and I'm not up to going over an ocean by a boat being steered by an arsonist." Catra responded.
"Sea Hawk promised not to try to set the ship on fire this time." Glimmer said wanting her friend to go on the trip with them. Catra smirked.
"Just want to catch up on my sleep nothing serious." She said trying to get worried Glimmer off her back. She wanted to paint the view on the balcony but didn't want anyone to know she could paint so needed to skip the trip. Of course Perfuma knew of her talent, but she promised not to tell anyone. Glimmer nodded at the suspicious behavior Catra was demonstrating, but decided to let her slip just this once.
"Fine you can look after the castle while we're gone." She said turning to Adora. "But you definitely aren't skipping this trip." Adora nodded and looked at Catra and frowned mouthing 'sorry' to her. Catra placed a hand on Adora's back and nodded sympathetically.

Catra walked Adora to the docks bravely but stopped when she got to the part where the water was.
"This is as far as I go Adora" she said staring at the water with such a hatred. Adora smiled at her and hugged her tightly
"We won't take so long I promise I'll be back to kiss you goodnight" Catra leaned into Adora and purred lightly. "I love you be safe and you're the only one for me" she said whispering the last part wanting only Catra to hear. Catra nodded and looked up to see Adora's beautiful face.
"I love you too. Be safe Adora" She said kissing Adora with such a love that made Adora smile through the kiss. They stayed kissing until Bow interrupted the quiet.
"Adora let's g- oh SORRY" he said apologizing because he made them tear apart to look at him.
"I'll be back before you know it" Adora said turning back to look at Catra who without knowing held Adora tightly not wanting to let go. She pecked Catras lips softly and let go to get on the ship. Catra watched her get on the ship and remembered todays the first day since Prime that I'm going to spend without Adora. she thought sadly. Adora climbed on the ship and frowned when she saw Catra waving this is the first time we're going to be apart since we confessed she waved back and blew a kiss to her. Catra smiled and quickly caught the kiss and held it to her heart, not wanting the others to see what she just did. She watched as Adora's figure became smaller and smaller until she no longer was visible.
After dropping Adora off at the docks, Catra began painting the gorgeous view on the balcony, when she finished grabbed one of her drawing books and began sketching Adora's face doing different things like smiling, laughing and that face she gives only to Catra, a face full of pure and unconditional love. she laid on the bed sketching what was burned in her mind constantly. Adora. She was always thinking of Adora. Whether it was what she wanted to do with her or just being memorized by her looks and her traits. She loved everything about her, How when she really laughs she starts snorting, how she has a little attitude that makes everything funny, and how she never gave up on her even when she was in her darkest and deepest times. She began thinking so much of Adora that she started purring quietly and before she realized her drowsy state, she fell into a deep sleep.
"Catra?" Adora said softly shaking a feline that was fast asleep. Then she noticed a fallen sketchbook on the floor near Catra had fallen sleep. She picked up and it was filled with her face? Did Catra draw all of this? She asked herself she flipped through all of it, almost all of it consisted of something related to Adora she really loves me i'm so lucky. But why did she keep all of this to herself? Silly kitten you didn't want to be embarrassed. Adora laughed quietly and adjusted her sleeping beauty so that she could hold her properly. I'll tease her about it tomorrow Adora decided as she closed her eyes and gently whispered in Catras ears
"I love you, my little Artist<3"
