10 Soul Transfer

Since soul form has physical properties just like a physical body here, weight applied as well. Just as Bluetail fainted, his body tumbled to the side and tangled with the green tubes. Under his weight, the green tube filled with green light was pulled out of the wall, green light flashed everywhere.

Inside Bluetail's head, two figures are sitting in front of two different screens, they are Bluetail and Bastet. Bluetail's screen is playing memories of Bastet and Bastet's screen is playing his memories. Scenes after scene played at an extremely speed, but somehow Bluetail managed to remember everything, from the moment of her birth, her cultivation, her struggles to her death, all the way till the moment she entered Bluetail head. Her entirely life is unfolding in front of him.

Turn out what Bastet tried on him isn't soul possession, but soul transfer. Soul possession is an extremely powerful and rare ability, only those stands at the peak or families with a foundation of million years could get their hand on such ability. Bastet is certainly not one of them, but she does have soul transfer ability.

Soul possession and soul transfer belong to the same category of soul skill, even their functionality is somewhat similar: to get hold of the victim physical body. However, there are significant differences between the two thus the power rank and rarity.

Firstly, soul possession gives the user ability to control both victim and his own body. Soul transfer switches their bodies, the user can only use his new body and the victim can use the user body. Both gave up on their original body and cannot switch back.

Secondly, the caster of soul possession can read the victim memories and can engulf the victim soul to strengthen his. The victim is unable to do the same and may have his soul completely extinguished.

No strong person would give up his powerful physical body to transfer to a weak one thus soul transferring is considered a lower level skill. However, it is still a soul skill so not many people have access to it, Bastet family can be considered well off.

Bastet decided to use soul switch not only because it is the only mean she has, but also because she has no physical body. The victim will not have any physical body to transfer to and simply extinguished once their energy used up, them reading her memory will not be a big deal after they died.

Bluetail fell his spine chilled. He will be expelled out of his body after he finished reading her thousand years old memory. Half of Bastet memory already flashed through, Bastet herself already finished watching his memory long ago and is looking at him with her sweet smile, her eyes filled with happiness.

He needs to find a solution, and fast.

He will be expelled once the memory finished, so he needs to stop the video playing on the screen. He thought of YouTube and extended his paw to touch the screen, hoping to see his now favorite "Pause" button. Nope, nothing happened, his paw went through the screen, it feels like the video is being projected by a projector instead.

Projector? He spreads his four paws trying to cover the entire screen and immediately filled with joy as the screen went black. "I actually thought this stupid idea will not worked, but it actually worked, sometime being stupid is not bad!" Beamed Bluetail.

Bluetail clang to the screen for a moment until he heard Bastet laughing.

"Are you stupid? Look at you, acting like a clown. Don't you feel hot as the video is playing on your back? You should feel honored that I take over your body, so your stupid soul will not stain it any further." Laughing Bastet.

Bluetail tilted his head to look at his back. He then drowned in a mixture of feeling stupid and disappointment as the video is still playing, just taking his back as the screen instead.

"What to do? What to do? If stopping the video is not possible, what can I do?" Pushed his disappointment aside, Bluetail is trying to find another solution.

At this point, three quarters of Bastet memory already flashed by, it is showing her memory of the last one thousand year till now. On the screen, Old Ginger is holding a small glass crystal and a scene of battle is being played inside that crystal (damn, Old Ginger body has been abused this long, poor bastard). A glance at the battle scene and Bluetail suddenly understood why Bastet had chosen him.

Two huge cats are battling each other, one with purple fur and a blue circle on his back, another with brown fur and three blue stripes at the end of his tail. The purple cat summoned a small ball of blue energy from his back and flung it toward the brown cat using his tail. The ball of energy grows bigger as it flew until it is big enough to engulf an entire city, electric currents are coiling around it like countless giant snakes, occasionally throw out flame and electric sparks. It looks terrifying and invincible. Despite the size, the ball flew with an incredible speed, many times faster than the speed a soul can achieve.

Facing such terrifying attack, the brown cat lightly raised his whiskers and let's out a contempt smile. From one of the three blue stripes on his tail, a blue metallic blade grew, imaging a spear but connected to a flexible tail instead of a handle. Unlike the giant energy ball, it grew only a few meters then stopped. Cold light emitted from the blue blade, giving it a deadly and dangerous feeling, but also a sense of calm.

The brown cat swings his spear tail toward the energy ball as it arrived less than ten meters from him. Under normal circumstance, the spear tail will be crushed under the energy ball and the brown cat will be exploded into nothingness. But this is by no mean normal circumstance, the spear tail emitted a blue energy which then covered the whole spear shaft, extended into a long and huge blue energy blade, slightly longer than the energy ball diameter. Unbelievable happened, the energy ball is cleanly slide in half after the spear tail passed through. The two halves of the energy ball became destabilized and absorbed into the spear tail right before it's about to explode.

Bastet had chosen him because she wants his innate ability.
