17 Laptop's situation

"Phew, I hope Laptop understood what I said and got out. That was way too dangerous." Bluetail thought out loud when his soul teleported back to his physical body. He stretched his muscles then walk leisurely to his food bowl.

In the meantime, Laptop is being beaten black and blue. The angry cat monks stepped on him, some pulled his whiskers, some stepped on his tail, some bite deep into his skin. It is a tragic sight to see. The beating only stops when Laptop's soul suddenly disappeared, all the cat monks looked at each other in bewilderment.

"Has he remembered that he could teleport back to his physical body?" Asked a chubby cat monk.

"Probably, He is quite a slow one, his friend already got out before we even touched him while this guy was beaten up so badly. It hurts so much I think he couldn't think straight." A thin cat monk answered.

"I think that's happened, do you see him curled into a ball and shrieking? That was so satisfying, served him right for cursing us so much. I was just happened to be bored as well." Said another cat monk.

"Yeah It was a good beating. I even feel like I can absorb Soul energy faster after beating him. It is true that relax after hard work will yield better results." Nodded the thin cat.

What they didn't know is their vicious hands just destroyed Laptop beyond hope. The reason he was teleported back to his physical body was because his cultivation dropped back to Soul Tempting Stage, thus he lost his ability to split his soul.

Laptop was also in Soul Splitting Stage and this is already his 8th life. Which mean he only has one more life plus this current life to accumulate enough soul points to have a chance to break through the next realm. As we all know, the cultivation speed on Earth is abysmal, so the trust is he only has one life left to achieve it. It all depends on the next planet he will be reborn in and the Hell Judge's mood, but to be honest, gathering 192 soul points in one life is impossible, at least it has never done before!

Bluetail arrived at Hiroshima the next day to check on Laptop but couldn't find him anywhere, not even a shadow. A bad premonition appeared in his head.

"He should be fine right? What I said was perfectly adequate and make sense, Laptop isn't a stupid cat neither. But why isn't he here? He comes here every day just to hang out as this is his favorite spot." Wondered Bluetail. Then he saw Bubble Tea at the corner, but he seems to be perturbed and isn't drooling over foods like he usually does. He decided to ask Bubble Tea about Laptop anyway since both of them live in the same district so they must see each other often.

Bluetail approached Bubble Tea to ask about Laptop's situation just to be stunned by Bubble Tea's reaction. Bubble Tea looked at Bluetail like an official looked at some commoners, full of disdain. He even stepped back when Bluetail came closer.

"Why are you acting this way? What happened?" Ask the stunned Bluetail.

"Why? How shameless are you? I don't know the one who abandoned his friend to run away, don't talk to me again!" Said Bubble Tea full of contempt.

"Are you talking about Laptop? Where is he now and what happened? I clearly told him the way out before I teleported back, how is that abandoned friend?" Said Bluetail. Seem like his premonition is true.

"Liar, Laptop told me that you didn't tell him anything, he didn't even know you had already left when he was beaten up so badly. His cultivation dropped by a whole stage! A whole stage you hear me?" Bubble Tea is fumed with rage, he and Laptop are good friends after all.

Cultivation dropped by a whole stage?! What? Bluetail's stun transformed into shock into disbelief. He can't believe those cat monks can be so vicious to actually beat someone until his cultivation drop. He knows all of them are hypocrite but damn, isn't this too much?

"Where is Laptop now?" Asked Bluetail, it is useless to explain to Bubble Tea as he won't believe it anyway.

"What? Is your conscience working now? A bit too late no? Laptop is physically travelling to Daisho-in temple to take revenge. He hated them and you to the core now. He kept mumbling kill Bottle, kill Bluetail like he is mentally ill." Said Bubble Tea.

He didn't pay attention to Bubble Tea anymore and started to run straight to Daisho-in temple. Soul form can't harm physical things and vice versa, Bluetail doesn't think much about the cat monks group, but he still needs to see what Laptop wanted to do as he surely doesn't go there for a picnic.

Bluetail feels guilty. Things wouldn't be this way if he stayed a bit more and bear a few punches to communicate properly how to escape, and more importantly, Laptop wouldn't be this miserable and hopeless. Bluetail didn't feel guilty about how the duo started all the cursing at the first place, he felt they all deserved it now and the cursing actually isn't enough.

Bluetail arrived at the familiar temple and wait there for Laptop, travelling physically isn't anywhere as fast as travelling in soul forms after all. It may take a few more days for Laptop to arrive but Bluetail doesn't want to miss Laptop arrival.

He stepped on the temple stairs and heading toward the meditation hall after some hesitations. Someone needs to take the responsibility and he needs an explanation.

The temple is the same as before, serene and tranquil. There are small statues of Buddha everywhere, covered in green mosses. The scenery is the same but the situation isn't the same as before. The last time they came to cause trouble, the next time they came is to take revenge, why did this happen and what is the point? Bluetail is in deep thought as he walked.

"What is the point of friends? Why did I put so much effort into them? I was betrayed and now gained enemies because of them, for nothing. Nothing at all."

"Friends are just burden and they bring more harm than good!"

"I, Bluetail, won't have friends anymore in the future. Myself is the only thing that matter."

However, his paws continued to move forward, he wants to clean this mess first so he won't get any regret in the future.
