7 The reality of dreams ( 3 )

He was well aware of the change in Sandra as they entered . He put it out of his mind and walked to his seat , following him Sandra sat between him and her manager .

The employees were shocked to see the young girl beside him . Throughout the meeting they kept glancing at the two of them , the female workers filled with jealousy at their being so close .

What no one could feel was the tension that Sandra felt surrounding her as she tried her best not to react to his presence . Deep inside her mind all the memories slowly flashed by making het feel alone even in this room full of people .

" I only initiated this meeting to inform you that i will now be taking over this company officially . I expect my employees to be true , sincere and hard working . If you meet my expectations I will reward all if you with a bonus " With simple words Brad delivered a powerful speech . He was not a man of much words but rather preferred to show his power by actions. The room was silent as the employees tried to comprehend his words . what a bonus with a little effort . they weren't dreaming were they ...

" Meeting adjourned " Brad walked out of the room leaving everyone behind . These two words finally reached Sandra's ears . As she saw him walk away without a second glance at her she felt something inside her break as her cover of an ordinary girl was thrown aside .

Back in his cabin Bradlin closed the door and leaned against it . It had taken his whole will power to walk away from her . Through out the meeting as the directors presented their files his eyes had never left her . As she sat there silently trying to blend in with the crowd he felt like a part of his mind was itching to go and comfort her . When her manager had asked her to pass his file she was still in denial and had not responded , the manager had brushed her hand and snatched his file . Watching this a demon rise in him as he saw the lust filled gaze that he gave Sandra .

He had always thought how would they meet again , he did not expect that she would look so worn out as if life had sucked her essence .

Beneath her fake smiles he could see the real her , still stubborn and sharp but an insecure child who dreamed of the prince charming that her books described . Once in the past he was her hero . Everytime she had a problem he would be there listening .

A knock on the door pulled him out of his thoughts . Straightening himself he opened it to come to face with those adorable big eyes that looked like they were going to burn him alive . " Ah , long time no see Miss Dellison "

Sandra was tired by the time she walked to his cabin and her cover of confidence was broken . She stumbled into his office as his deep voice stirred something inside her deep down .

They had met by chance through a common friend . Sandra despised men at that time and he was the only one who could get to her stubborn mind . But now after everything broke down she hated men more than anything. She had always dreamed of him coming back .

Consoling sad people had never been his style but the first time he saw her crying he felt like god was punishing him . He had held her for an hour until she stopped and came to her senses and ran away . Ever since everytime they were sad they would rely on each other . The more time Sandra spent in his company she could not help the feeling of betrayel shatter her heart .

Stepping around him she sat down on the sofa in his room and waited for him to say something. 

She wanted an explanation . He could sense it but he knew his reason would drive her further and he would not let that happen .

He sat down to her and reached for her hand . Sensing his move she pulled it away and put it in her lap .

"Whats changed Mr. Bradlin , Are you not aware of you actions in the past . " 

Hearing her accusing tine his heart clenched in pain as he looked at her. 

" Sandra give me a chance . I'll tell everything to you , I am really sorry for what happened " Bradlin hd always been a proud man who would never give in to the other party hearing him she questioned as to what had happened that changed him , she knew that life changed everyone at some time and no one was an exception to the problems of life . However she was not in the mood to hear his reply .

" Its good to know that you've changed . I hope this change has also made you realize that I too have moved on and from now we are strangers in this world who have no future with each other except the fact that you are my boss and i am your employee " Sandra walked out of his room leaving him alone with the shadows of sunlight
