Damn Cao Clan!

After running for a whole day, the duo flew away on Mu Yu's sword as Jin Wu sat on the front, panting like a dog.

Mu Yu looked at him worriedly, stroking his head silently. Jin Wu was recovering his Qi with a frown, "Where's the Old man?" Mu Yu shrugged and replied, "Not behind us… Maybe he's going to the Sect?"

Jin Wu frowned and muttered, "Then we can't go back." Mu Yu looked at him and sighed, "Clint… I can just-" Jin Wu waved his hand and cut her off coldly, "No! I'm not going to let you go back and marry some loser! You have to stay with me!"

Mu Yu opened her mouth and Jin Wu paused, clearing his throat, "Of course, you're my friend… You can choose who you want to marry, not your clan…" Mu Yu closed her mouth, pursing her lips in amusement.

Jin Wu's ears turned red, but he had a serious expression on his face, "We can go to Golden Willow City." Mu Yu's face contorted, "Grandpa's a Tribulation Realm Cultivator… I'm worried…" Jin Wu sneered, "Just a fool half a foot in a coffin, if he comes to Golden Willow City, I'll bury him!"

Mu Yu's face was tangled and Jin Wu looked at her. He turned back to the front, muttering "Unless… You don't want that." Mu Yu sighed and held her forehead, Jin Wu was silent and finally, Mu Yu explained seriously, "It wasn't always like this."

She sighed and continued, "In the beginning, Grandpa was always good to me. Even my parents were very gentle and treated me really well! The problem started when my grandmother died trying to cross into the Tribulation Realm. Her Qi Deviated and she died on the spot. After that, Grandpa changed drastically… Even going as far as to collude with the Cao Clan, selling me off to their young patriarch… Cao Ye. I didn't want to be a chess piece for the Clan, how could I be? So I left, telling everyone I was going to experience the world while I have time."

Her face changed into anger, "I didn't want to be a caged bird, for a scumbag waste of life! Imagine plotting everyone just to be a Clan leader in this lower realm! What a loser! A disgusting hypocrite! The way that guy smiles like as if he's a saint makes my skin crawl!"

Jin Wu narrowed his eyes, asking "Where is this… Cao Ye?" Mu Yu replied absentmindedly "Central Continent, Forgotten Dragon Sect." then she paused and said extremely seriously, "Clint, don't do anything crazy! That guy is a scum for sure, but he's not weak! The Cao Clan is the biggest clan in the Eastern Continent. They span the entire Continent and even control several Sects."

Jin Wu tilted his head as Mu Yu explained seriously, "This is the 'Big Boss Young Master'! The Cao Clan is a General Clan of the Royal Family in the Central Continent. One of the 4 General Clans in charge of the other Continents of the Starfire Empire. This guy gives me the creeps and he's probably colluding with Outer Demons or something! At any rate, I'm 80% sure he's the guy who gets humiliated and ferries Demons into the world at the end of the first arc!"

Jin Wu sneered, "Just a General Clan? Some space demons really don't make me scared at all." Mu Yu glared at him with her hands on her hips, "That's not the point! The point is that you're not strong enough yet!" Jin Wu asked, "Do you want to marry him?" Mu Yu retorted, "Obviously not!"

Jin Wu snorted, "Then what's the problem? Enemy now, enemy in the future. Even if he brings Space Herpes, I have to kill him!" Mu Yu glared at him angrily and snorted, "I'm ignoring you!" Jin Wu rolled his eyes and looked forward, narrowing his eyes.

Cao Clan?

What kind of balls does it take to try and steal my woman?

He sneered, he'll show these bastards the power of nuclear weapons!

One Nuke isn't enough? How about 1000!?

Meanwhile, Mu Yu was worried and angry.

Damn Cao Clan!

How dare you make my man take risks?!

When I chop your damn clan in half, we'll see who's laughing then!

A few days later

The duo landed on a mountain to rest and found a cave.

They walked inside, Jin Wu explored the cave with an excited face, pulling Mu Yu along, "Come on! Don't you know every cave in the world has Primordial Chaos Immortal Demon God Treasures?!" Mu Yu rolled her beautiful eyes, retorting sarcastically, "Yeah, right! What do you think this is? Maybe if you were Long Zi, but you don't have that kind of luck!"

Jin Wu snorted, turning to her, complaining "Do you HAVE to take the wind out of my sails every time?!" Mu Yu looked at him proudly, nodding "Yes!" Jin Wu grit his teeth and glared at her before turning away, snorting "Hmph! I'm ignoring you!" Mu Yu's lips twitched as they continued into the cave.

Two Golden Core cultivators, it was easy to see in the dark.

They explored the winding cave that seemed to never end before coming to a wide open space full of bright crystals and stalagmites!

Jin Wu and Mu Yu looked around in awe, saying in unison, "Wow…" their fingers brushed by each other briefly, Mu Yu paused and stretched out her fingers, grabbing JIn Wu's hand. He didn't look at her, but grabbed her small hand firmly.

Mu Yu smiled slightly, shuffling closer to him as their fingers intertwined. They walked around the corner to see a group of pale skinned creatures!

Mu Yu and Jin Wu froze, staring at the creatures in shock.

The creatures turned and looked at the duo in confusion, hissing strangely. They were all pale white with completely white eyes, bald skin, pointed ears, and completely naked.

Jin Wu stared at the creatures with bulging eyes, full of wonder and excitement, "Troglodytes!" The creatures were startled and afraid, backing off and hissing while crawling on their feet and hands.

Mu Yu hugged Jin Wu's arm tightly, shaking. Jin Wu looked at her in confusion, asking "You're scared of Troglodytes?" Mu Yu shivered with a frown, "No… the stories aren't ever good though…"

Jin Wu's lips twitched and he pointed at the Troglodytes, "They're more scared than you! Don't believe those movies where they have them kidnap women and use them as baby machines… Even if they kill people, it's not because they're human. They can't even see. They use a special echolocation method to listen to the vibrations of movement and sound that bounce off the cave walls."

Jin Wu pointed around them, smiling "Technically, only they can hear anything in this cave. Cave systems are very mysterious. That room we were just in, maybe if you stand in there and I scream as loud as I can from right here, you won't hear me." Mu Yu was stunned, "Really!?"

Jin Wu nodded and explained, "The cave walls insulate sound to begin with. Mostly because the walls are porous from erosion. When you add in the stalagmites, sound can barely travel as is. Most people who get lost in caves travel with a few people but still get lost when in reality they might be only 10 meters away in another portion of the cave."

Mu Yu shivered and gripped him tightly, complaining, "You're not helping!" Jin Wu chuckled and patted her hands, turning back to the Troglodytes, "It's not that serious. We can use night vision naturally, it's impossible to get lost in a cave. Not to mention, if you get lost, all you have to do is blast the roof and escape."

He shook his head and added, "This isn't our old world anymore, we have more power than industrial machinery! If we want to leave the cave, we can go at any moment." as he was speaking, he got a bit closer to the Troglodytes, looking at them with curiosity and excitement.

You have to know, back home, these are an unsolved myth!

How many accounts of cave people exist? How many of them are dismissed? But the fact still remains, how do people randomly go missing!?

The stories are stories… but facts can't be disputed!

There was a case of a missing child that was found 2 weeks later over 100 miles away on a cliff that would be impossible for a child to get to without interference!

That kid said something about a cave woman helping him.

Anyway, that's the past, this is the present and there are Troglodytes here!

Jin Wu wanted to rush up and capture one, but these guys were terrified at the moment. This was the difference between the known and unknown for them.

Mu Yu pulled on his arm, pleading "Clint, can we leave? This place is freaking me out! Those things are seriously making me panic." Jin Wu looked at the Troglodytes with regret, "But…" Mu Yu was almost sobbing, "Please!"

Jin Wu looked at her teary eyes and sighed, wiping her tears, "Alright." he looked back at the Troglodytes while pulling Mu Yu into his chest, stroking the back of her head, adding gently, "Let's go." before turning around and leaving.

They returned back from the way they came in, passing by the shimmering crystals, exiting the cave.

The duo set up camp outside the cave and Mu Yu sat down, hiding her knees as she said weakly, "Sorry." Jin Wu looked at her as he set up a fire, smiling "It's okay." Mu Yu didn't say anything else and Jin Wu roasted food, humming to himself.

After they finished eating, Jin Wu was going to sleep in his tent, when Mu Yu opened it, coming inside. He looked at her and she nibbled on her lips, whispering "Can I stay with you?" He was stunned and scratched his cheek, smiling as he nodded.

She closed the tent and came over, laying down next to him.

He looked at her back and hesitated before hugging her close to him. Mu Yu snorted slightly and shifted into a more comfortable position, Jin Wu's eyes lit up and he hugged her tightly into his body as they slowly fell asleep.
