On a bright, sunny day, birds chirp as the screen progresses through the scenery - The Orphanage. All the while, pink flower petals, cherry blossoms, float across the scenery. The orphanage Happy Cannes Home is a project to help orphans and vulnerable children. That "happy home" opened its doors and welcomes now up to small amounts of children, at least 32.

Marron and Nino are two orphans whose parents passed away two years ago.

Little Nino holds up the shell Marron was looking at a second earlier. "Look, Marron!" , said Nino.

Marron respond, "I'm surprised you found something like this. It's pretty, Nino." Marron then pays Nino on the head while smiling. "Okay, you did a good job." Marron then puts the shell in her pocket.

Nino looking up again, eyes locked on a figure standing in the shallows. We can only see the pale figure's bare feet. Nino responded, "Look!"

We see the young boy from before, sans helmet. Blood from his eye flows down and a horn poking out from his head top. The perspective changes to his barely hidden eyes, switching from his right side to his left to show the blood still trickling down from his temple. He lifts his hands to his face, and after a second, looks up, wide-eyed and baffled. The boy first words were, "Mao?"

Acting nothing like the Number 11 we've seen before, the young boy is visibly frightened by Marron and Nino's presences and tries to run away. However, he trips and falls in the sand, sprawled out. He slowly pulls himself up and begins to cry like a young baby. Marron turns Nino away from looking directly at the crying boy. Marron demands, "Nino, take off short right now."

The trio stand by the roadside, near the ramps leading down to the beach. They're hidden from view due to the beach being under street level. The boy puts on Nino's outermost shirt, the white one, which is big enough to cover him down to his thighs. Marron confused, "It sure doesn't seem like she understands what we're saying." Nino replies, "He has a unicorn horn!" He reaches up to touch them, then pulls back in surprise. Marron responds, "No way! It's sticking out of his head!" As she gets a better look at the horn, Marron eyes widen in fear. A flashback to a figure, obscured in the shadows of the setting sun. They can't be seen clearly at all, and the vision of them warps. Marron stares into space until roused by Nino's prompting. Nino shouts, "MARRON!" Marron replies, "I think we should take him to the orphanage." Marron then smiles at the boy, "It's all right. You're safe now, hm?" The boy stares at Marron, not saying a word.

In a room in the orphanage, perhaps the sitting room or cafeteria, Marron take the boy to the caretaker Delarue. Delarue smilies, "Hello, Marron! Who's your little friend?" Marin replies, " I found him in the ocean and he was naked! " Delarue feeling pity, "On dear. He must be a street kitten."

Marron explains, "He can't talk. He only says MAO." " Can we keep him? " Delarue agrees, "Until we learn where he biologically comes from, he can stay. Please treat him nicely."

At the bedroom, two orphans Emile and Alya arrives to greet Marron. Emile replies, "Hey Marron! Who's the new kid?" Marron answers , "He doesn't have a name. Nino and I found him in the ocean." Alta replies , "Poor thing." The boy falls on the floor and started scream "MAO!" Marron said, "What? Well, um, I don't know what to do. And I don't even know what his name is." Emile replies, "Since he keeps saying Mao-Mao, why don't we just call him Mao?" The boy sinks to the floor, then looks up with a considerably happier look on his face. Nino replies, "He likes it!' Alya gasps and steps back as Mao pees on the floor. The scene switches to Emile cleaning up the mess with a bucket of water and a scrub brush, sighing. The scene then changes to Marron bathing Mao in the bath, rinsing him over with water. Marron replies, "You really should know better than to pee in places like that."

As Emile finishes cleaning the floor, Marron returns with Mao in tow. Marron said to Emile, "Sorry to leave you with the mess." Emile replis, "It's alright, but you didn't have to give him my underwear." Mao is wearing a tanktop and boxers, messes with the boxers as if trying to figure out how it works, unintentionally flashing his penis in the process. Marron said, "What else was he supposed to wear?" Delarue replies, "I'll buy her some new clothes. Are you guys hungry?" The four child except Mao splies, " YES LADY DELARUE! "

Marron reaches into the backpack and pulls out a box, but immediately drops it. A pink seashell falls out, which she immediately picks back up. Alya replies, "Is that..." Marron sadly answered, "Is was that from the last time Nino and I went to the beach with mama and papa. Wasn't long after that mama got sick and died. I don't remember what happened to papa at all. This is like a memento of my parents. And since I came to the orphanage, it just made sense to bring it." Mao sits up and takes the shell from Marron's hand. Mao stares intently at the shell, as if figuring something out. To the shock of Marron and Nino, he snaps the shell in half, then smiles widely as if expecting praise for what he's done. Marron gets up and grabs him by the shirt, alarming both Delarue and Alya.

Marron shouts, "YOU IDIOT! ARE YOU RETARDED OR SOMETHING?! THAT WAS FROM MY MOMMY BEFORE SHE CROAKED! What're you doing?! I said it was a memento of my parents, didn't I?"

Delarue responds, "Marron! No!" The caretaker forces herself between Marron and Mao, trying to restrain Marron despite her continued ranting. Marron shouts, "YOU JERK! What were you thinking?! Was that supposed to be some kind of joke, huh?"

Alya responds to Marron, "Calm down! Mao must have thought the shell..." Mao sinks to his knees the more Delarue struggles to keep Marro back. Marron again shouts, "You know, you know, you know what? Just get out of here! You heard me! Go! I'm saying, get out! This isn't funny!"

Dropping the shell pieces, Mao hope over the table and runs out of the house. The perspective goes on to show other parts of the house before looping back around to Nino standing in the doorway of the room, looking out in hopes Mao will come back. Delarue replies, "Maybe...since you looked sad... I think he might have thought that the seashell was bad." Marron is vivid but confused. "Wherever your mother is, I don't think she'd be happy to see you like this. Her memory ought to be worth more to you than just bitterness. There was nothing bitter about how she lived." Marron goes quiet, thinking on what she's said. Marron stand up and says, "I'm going to go look for Mao. We can't leave him alone, it's miserable out there." Marron and Nino wears raincoat and went of the search.
