4 Escape

While the two were discussing, I was deeply engrossed by the newly given mission by the system. It appeared the moment I was put in the cage.

[Quest triggered! [Escape!]

Task: Successfully escape and earn your freedom!

Reward: 100 coins, and the title "Escapee".

Still, now I'm wondering what coins are used for and the title makes me wonder if it has some buff like in games or just plain title. Maybe it's also a precondition to unlock related quests.

Even without the quest, I would have still escaped from here. After all, I wanted freedom more than anything. My will to escape became even stronger after recognising the girl. Because that girl despite her innocent looks was the "fondling-addict-tentacle-monster"! If she were to have me then I would have to go through the hellish experience every day for the rest of my life! I can't let that happen!

Now how do I escape this?

Surprisingly enough the "pet shop" closed so early in the day. Maybe just before sunset or so. The shop has already been closed for the day and was devoid of people. They were only caged monsters here like me. This place didn't even have a guard or something.

Ok, now about the girl.

From what I have heard earlier is that the girl didn't bring enough money so she headed back and have me reserved for now which Fredrick the middle-aged man agreed to. But since the shop was closed I think she would have to come back for tomorrow obviously. So I have till tomorrow to escape before I get sold and be a slave to satisfy her fondling needs.

Currently, I have no means to escape the cage and could only hope the system would have something that would help me.

I've completed the [Catsanova!] Quest earlier from a customer and I have yet to claim the rewards. I'm not thinking that a plus one in charm would help me now but I think those coins would!

[Reward Claimed!]

[Received charm(+1), and 50 coins!]

[Shop Unlocked!]

Yess! I knew it! For there to be coins then there had to be an in-game shop of some sort. If the reward coins were a currency here then I was certainly doomed but it isn't! Hahaha. It seems that I also have some sort of armour plot! Now let's check the shop function.

A shopping cart icon appeared at the corner of the screen just beside the icon for the quest menu. Upon clicking it rows of items appeared.

What is this? Superman suit? A power ranger set? And even a bunny outfit?

What on earth are these!? Is this a cosplaying system?

The items sold in the system shop were costumes for a cat! To think that this could help me escape was very stupid! If this suits could give me superpowers then I might have been able to.

Wait?! What's is this? Superman suit gives 1000+ bonus in strength, even other abilities like flying, heat visions, and many more! Legendary grade? Costs 100 000 000 coins? What the hell!

It seems that I have judged the system too early and now I know that the system couldn't be judged by a mortal like me. One should not underestimate the power of the system!

If I could have even one ability from the suit right now then I could easily escape from here. But even a piece of the superman suit hosted millions of coins. I don't even know if I'll be able to buy one of those in the future. Let's focus on items that would be of use to me right now.

In truth, any random clothes belonging to the legendary grade could probably help me now but their value was also very legendary so I skipped from the legendary grade and directly looked into the common grade goods. After a while, I was able to find cheap equipment that could possibly help me now.

[Burgular Set:(common)] (gloves) (20 coins)

Description: A random thief's glove.

Effects: Pick locking(+1)

It cost quite cheaply but the description didn't seem trustworthy at all and I didn't know if the plus one bonus to pick locking ability would be enough to open the lock on the cage so I searched for a bit more and found the right one.

After a half of an hour of searching and applying the right filters. I was able to find a suitable choice.

[Puss's Gloves:(uncommon)] (1250 coins)

Description: The gloves of the legendary Booted Cat. No magical beans could remain truly safe when the wearer of these gloves is lurking.

Effects: Art of Cat-Pick Locking technique!

The effect of the item was different from normal pick locking. If burglars needed lock picking tools then this one made use of a cat's claw. It was a good thing I actually read their descriptions more in detail and I was able to notice their difference.

I naturally can't buy this item but the system offered more than that. There is an option for a limited trial of this item for a very much lower price. By consuming all my coins, I could buy a limited trial of the boots for a four-hour use upon activating it.

[Item is converted into a trial card!]

[The effects of the item is changed due to a trial card option!]

What? What would I do if it changed!

I read the changes on the item so instead of having the complete technique. What I got was only a Cat-Pick Locking(+5). If I bought it then I should've been granted a technique that I could practice and improve but since it changed I was directly given the skill with the corresponding limit.

[Trial Card used]!

[Equip item? y/n]

After clicking yes, instantly the gloves appeared on my paws and am already wearing it. Good, I thought I would have to wear it myself.

The gloves were made of leather. It was very different from the original gloves that Puss as this one was made fingerless. It's very comfortable and fits just right. I wonder what I looked like now.

No time to waste! I want to get out of here as much as possible!

Using my claws I tried opening the lock. As I opened it the whole process felt like I've done it a million times and now I'm just doing it solely relying on my muscle memory.

It wasn't long before the lock was opened.

Soon the loud fell on the floor with a thud, attracting the attention of some monsters.

[Ding!]
