Adventurer's Guild

The four of us were currently cuddling together in the basement of an inn. It might not be the best place but it does give us shelter and food. The cats were fast asleep except Luna who was half awake.

"Are you fine, Master?"

"Ah? Yes, of course. No need to worry about me. You should sleep soon as it's bad for cats to sleep late at night."

"Hmm…"

I was busy contemplating which things to buy with my 3000 thousand coins. I'm itching to spend all this money. But I had to prioritise whichever that could help me right now and should I buy a cheap common grade outfit or buy a piece of an uncommon set.

I've been checking with the system all this time and found out some things. First, wearing a complete set of an outfit gives a bonus effect. Though not all outfits were in a set. There were outfits that didn't belong to the set. Second, is about the title Escapee which is very interesting.

[Title: "Escapee!"]

Description: Earn bonus rewards whenever quests related to escaping is included. The rewards given corresponds to the difficulty of the quest.

It's a nice title that could help me earn more. But I have no plans to be a cat who earned by breaking out of prisons. I'm not Rey Breslin from Escape Plan.

Then there is this stuff about the system comrade thing. From what I've read it enables others who are registered as comrades to be able to see the system and have their own quest menus. In that way, they could also receive quests on their own and earn coins and in every coin they earn, I would also be able to get a part of it. I don't know how much would I get but it's sure that I would be able to share in their rewards. They could also access the shop to spend their coins and buy outfits for themselves.

Aside from that, I could also now access my profile. There were very few details but it could help me keep track of my attributes. From that, I was able to learn about my cat self more.

[Name: Alex] [Race: Shadow Cat]

Equipment: (Puss's Gloves)[31:29]

Attributes: [charm(+1)], [Shadow Affinity(+1)]

Skills: [Cat-Pick Locking Technique(+5)]

This is the first time I'm seeing my profile and I can't say that I'm not disappointed. I was expecting a bit more mc archetypes with a bunch of skills that are very overpowering. But I guess that the system itself is my cheat skill.

So my cat species is that of a Shadow cat? It sounds pretty cool judging from its name. Then I have this Shadow affinity which is also very paw-some.

[Shadow Affinity(+1)]

Description: Affinity to shadow magic.

Well, that's very descriptive and helpful. I could derive that from the words itself even without the help of the system. This affinity should be an innate talent from my cat race.

That concludes what I've learned today about the functions of the system.

Let's put aside the matter about using the coins and save it for the future. For now, let's just sleep as I am pretty tired with all the happenings today.

When I woke up, the gloves have already disappeared. The kittens were already gone from my side and were snacking on some smoked bacon.

"Good morning, Master!" The three of them greeted before once again continued to munch on their breakfast.

'Where'd you get that?'

"A human gave it to us master!"

I'm also pretty hungry but I can't bring myself to fight with these kittens over a piece of bacon. There was no food here in the basement. There were only barrels here probably containing alcohols. So I had to go out in the streets. Going to the kitchen inn was also doable but I also wanted to walk the streets in hope of triggering a new quest.

Spent almost an hour by now just strolling along the streets and haven't triggered a new quest. I've already had my breakfast from some passerby who gave me food.

As I strolled down the streets I saw this particular place. A place that one could find in every fantasy novel there is. Home to every adventurer everywhere.

The Adventurer's Guild!

From the outside, I could see all sorts of typical adventurers. There were those who wielded all sorts of swords from short ones to huge buster swords. I could see robed mages and lightly armoured archers. All bunch of races peacefully interacted inside.

Oh! That's a huge ass bear!

There was this huge gigantic bear caged on a carriage. Luckily it was sleeping because if not I could not even begin to imagine how this bear would act once awaken. It was brought in front of the guild attracting everyone's attention and made a huge crowd.

"Please bring it to the back"

Then a man who seemed like staff from the guild welcome them and asked for the bear to be brought to their training grounds.

Out of curiosity, I proceed to follow them. The cage was pulled by two burly men who's physique would be unrivalled if ever they were on Earth.

At the back of the guild was a huge space used by adventurers for training purposes. There were people practice shooting with target dummies. There were also those who sparred with each other using wooden swords. There were even a bunch of young and aspiring adventurers sitting on the ground as they were taught various knowledge by a middle-aged man who appeared to be a retired adventurer.

Suddenly all the attention were focused on the cage more particularly the bear. People gathered around and gasped in amazement as they praised whoever hunted this huge bear.

"Rank B, berserk bear!"

"Who's s strong enough to capture this?"

"Which party hunted this?"

"I think it was the Conquerors Party!"

It was then when a group of five came close to the bear. Each of them donning top-class armours which were all red in colour. The man who appears to be the leader told and bragged about how they have battle the fearsome beast and finally capturing it.

While the others had their attention on them I was deeply engrossed by the instructor who was teaching adventurers some essential knowledge.

hmmm
