1 Rory

A man stood at a large docking station upon a ship. The ship itself was odd in shape, more akin to the form of a massive set ball atop a star like shape. Each point surrounding the ball emitting a small pink light. The center ball constantly shifting in color never settling, it appeared to be a small galaxy never revealing what laid inside the massive ship. The man, although lean in stature, had broad shoulders and large muscles upon his biceps due to constant laborious work. His features chiseled coming to a fine square jawline, his eyes the color of gold with specs of green that shaded his eyes like stars in the evening light.

"RORY...." shouted a gruff voice from behind the man. "...we are overdue for a shipment! You better makeup for last time. You know Carmine isn't a patient man!"

The man stood up with a bored expression "Did you weather his bad mood for me?" asked Rory "How very kind of you to be so thoughtful. I can handle my own battles Levi" Levi was a wide man short in stature with a bald head. His eyes beady and small with arched eyebrows as if constantly speculating his surroundings. Although he appeared harmless, Levi was Rory's accomplice in most things and connected to the nittiest and grimiest of people whom feared the duo. This was due to their foul tempers that often left people injured when challenged.

"Mmhmm." replied Levi "I definitely don't want to be thrown back into the brig, last time we killed 7 guards in Hortensia, they only let us out to chase us to the rim of their universe. Carmine is the highest paying for Caliber accounts. He paid off the guards in Hortensia so we could make good on our shipments. Caliber accounts don't create themselves and I don't plan on losing this customer due to your longing heart for a companion to complete you." stated Levi annoyed

"You don't think what we are doing is wrong? These are people whom we are essentially sending for slaughter!" thundered Rory

"It's not for you or I to decide! We were placed here because of our specialties and to keep our loved ones safe. It's either us or them." replied Levi in a tired voice

"I know that. Last time the blonde...."

"I know" Levi exhausted from constantly saving Rorys life often let him regress his needs for a family in the shipment of people. Each time seeking company from a delicate woman only to have them ripped away either by shipment or another mans heart.

"I never intend to take them but we are gone for months at a time and you have Lila to keep you company when we rest but I have no one." Rory was tired of being alone when he was younger sure he didn't mind being handsome with a string of ladies lining up to be his partner. He even married once but the woman left on one of his journeys to pick up shipment for a Caliber account. Being married to a man whom constantly left and was ordered to specialize in Caliber accounts was hard. Mainly due to the constant hate from the rest of the people in Hortensia. His universe was numbered with many people. Hortensia was a universe filled with many planets inhabited by other humanoid like people. However it was ruled by one cruel ruler named Darma. Darma was a queen whom ruled with an iron fist. Her rule more of a dictatorship, at a young adult age each person was tested for specializations and then placed in their own unique roles into the community. Although no one had control of their position in life, The migrators where the most hated. Migrators where people who would travel to other universes and find people to steal from other worlds and placed into ships. These people would then be delivered to Darma's home world and palace to be sent to slaughter or to become a soldier in Darma's massive empire, this is what a caliber account was called. An acquirer was a person whom sought out migrators to underhand the queen and use the people from other worlds for their own dark purposes.

Migrators hated their jobs but as a consequence for not delivering a migrators family could be sentenced to replace the missing shipments. The conditions for a migrators family was poverty. Therefore to make extra cash Migrators would

double their shipments and deliver a small portion of their shipments to an acquirer and then send the remaining shipment to the queen.

Rory although he only had his mother and step father was chosen for a Migrator against his will

just like any other migrator. However, Rory and Levi were a successful team and were often sought out by other acquirers for their specialty in picking choice shipment.

Rory as a result killed his time in the company of many beautiful women. The reality only hitting them when bought by another individual. Most of the women were lucky and placed in elite positions. Regardless of their luck they always seemed to find themselves finding comfort in another's arms while

Rory left to pick up another shipment.

Although the patten still didn't bother Rory, as time grew and he got older he tired of the games and wished to settle down to a single woman who would warm his heart. Rory looked longingly at the expanse before him. "Set for Emporia, I have a feeling we have an adventure ahead of us Levi." said Rory. Levi rolled his eyes but nonetheless returned to the massive ball like center to set their journey for the universe named Emporia.
