15 Lifebound Reversal 1

"That... That's it? No special effects? No colors dancing and rumbling thunders?" Elle did not expect that an amazing-sounding technique would end up being so anti-climatic.

Morbius on the other hand found it weird. His thoughts were the same with Elle. All he did was absorb the Magic Plate into his mind sea. It could've been impossible. Mind sea is a sacred place that only the consciousness could dwell, but it is innately closed and out of access until a certain cultivation realm.

When the body, mind, and soul are connected to one's Energy Veins, chances are, that energy would invade the mind sea. Mind sea is governed by a special vein, but unless the energy is pure enough, it could risk poisoning the mind sea. This is what cultivators call Energy Poisoning.

There are three places impure energy must not enter. They are the Mind Sea, Heart Throne, and Soul Palace. These three places are inaccessible until one reached a certain realm of cultivation. Mind-Body Realm is the minimum requirement to fully open the Mind Sea. Heart-Body Realm for the Heart Throne and Soul-Body Realm is needed to open the Soul Palace.

"It seems that the absorption succeeded, but I couldn't access my Mind Sea." Morbius felt that he could access the Mind Sea today, but something is lacking. He needed a push to open the passages to his Mind Sea.

With his Ancient Dragon Physiology, he had long gained access to the veins that govern Mind Sea, but his consciousness is barred from entering.

"Did you follow what the manual says?" Morbius might've overlooked something. In cultivation, it is not impossible to make mistakes. Morbius flipped the book open and check everything.

Morbius muttered while reading, "Hmmm... the first step is to agitate the veins stated until energy enveloped the Magic Plate. Then, the whole plate will enter the palm in form of energy. The energy of the user must be Pure Energy to prevent Energy Poisoning. The Magic Plate will travel to the Mind Sea. The Mind Sea will require a vast amount of energy to crumble the physical Metal Plate. If the energy reserves are not sufficient, the Mind Sea won't activate. Activation will only occur once the Metal Plate is fully dissolved living the Age Identification Spell behind."

"Oh, then that is it. You need a tremendous amount of Pure Energy. The question is, where will you get it?" Elle doesn't know about the mountains of Energy Stones inside Morbius's Storage Ring.

With a flick of his finger, the surroundings were filled with Energy Stones. Elle was dumbfounded by the scene in front of her. The amount of the beautiful Energy Stones in front of her might be shocking, but what's more shocking is the sudden appearance of such stones out of thin air.

Energy Stones were scarce enough, but what's more scarce are space-related artifacts.

With his palms empty and opened upwards, Morbius started his circulation. "Elle, please replace the stone above my palm as soon as the light dissipates from the Energy Stone. Repeat the process until I open my eyes."

Elle might be a Foundation Building Realm, but she is already at the stage wherein she could see the energy particles in the air, but not absorb it though. Elle sat near enough to reach Morbius and the stones with minimal movement. For normal people, they could only see a young man and a girl playing with blue rocks, but what the two could see are different.

'Shit, this technique is an energy black hole. No wonder the realm required for this technique is above the Energy Refinement Realm.' In a few seconds, the light emanating from the stone dimmed. The stone might have lost its luster, but it could still be useful later.

Elle hastily replaced the dim stones with a new one. The process repeated until evening. During this time Elle took quick bites in while Morbius channeled the Pure Energy to the veins that govern his Mind Sea.

Inside his consciousness, after accumulating enough energy, Morbius could see the dark consciousness. Every time he channeled a certain amount of Pure Energy, it is as if the dark world is being painted with white. He discovered early on that he could control the appearance of his Mind Sea.

The Mind Sea that he formed is akin to an island. The island is quite big, with a small hut in the middle. Without his consent though, a huge monolith suddenly erected reaching the infinite depths of the sky. The monolith contains indecipherable symbols. The few comprehensible parts of this monolith are the words, Bone, Flesh, Soul, Skin, and Appearance. Old doesn't mean weak. What makes a person weak is his constitution, but there are constitutions and even circumstances that make old people stronger. Even though Morbius is a living ancient relic, he is void of mortal constraints. His appearance might have aged for some reason, but his body as a whole did not deteriorate.

Displayed in the monolith are digits pertaining to his age. All of his ages are 4006 except for his appearance which is 17. He needed to cultivate Lifebound Reversal and age is important. He does not know about the effect of age in this cultivation except for a higher quality of pure energy and more efficient energy conversion. His organs will also be strengthened and become part of his energy reserves like an Energy Source. He would also gain the ability to absorb the impure energy in the air and filter out the impurities. The bones and flesh regenerate faster and become stronger proportional to the quality of the Pure Energy and Pure Energy Quality is proportional to the age.

The only downside is that the cultivation technique is dependent on the cell life cycle. As one ages, the process becomes slower and thus slows down the cultivation of Lifebound Reversal. Even if an old cultivator delves into this technique, his speed will be hindered by his age despite the good quality of energy.

'Cell life cycle? This is an assumption but my cell's life cycle won't stop because I am an immortal, but it indeed is slow when I checked it. Wait... Alma's Cell Rejuvenation.'

Morbius did not circulate the Pure Energy according to the Lifebound Reversal yet. He waited for his Mind Sea to complete.

Then...

He opened his eyes wide in the real world and looked at Elle in the eyes. His action, flustered Elle making her avert her stare. "I am not looking." She said.

"It's complete.", Morbius said and smiled.
