1 Drifting

I'm 17 and highschool really is boring

A life as a highschool student isnt what I expected, it's more or so like a survival of the hungriest. People from each class gallop around looking for girls to mess with and it's pretty shameful. So I try my best to avoid every group especially the "factions," they're so troublesome. They reek of hate and they only fight for stupid reasons like territory.

Now that I think of it I dont have any friends.The more I drift into space I get a spec of loneliness floating around me. Even if I'm tall I still have the traits girls and guys find unattractive such as black eyes, pale skin, long eyelashes, bad posture and an emotionless gaze near the window, but I guess it's not all that bad. I mean I live a really simple yet stable life, and no one says anything.

Monday was like any other day, study, then go to school, except I changed my route of walking near a forest where convenience stores were and a flicker of light illuminated the blue sky then pops began and a whole crowd of people came rushing toward the light. I didnt mind it and the vendors and pedestrians didn't seem to aswell so I walked my way to school. Once i got to school people were the same as usual,

"did you see that huge light"

"no what do you mean light?"

Rumors began to circle around the school and thousands began to wonder too, but I was the only one that never really minded.

"I wonder what I should do once I go back home" I whispered under my breath

as soon as I said that the quiet girl with blue/grey eyes and blonde hair glanced back.

I thought to myself, "was I too loud? does she hate me?"

as soon as the class ended the quiet girl dropped an envelope on my desk. I opened the it and it read, "please come to the sidewalk near the (Card Forest) at 3 pm."

My mind was going in circles and my stomach was churning. If I went was I gonna be kidnapped? confessed to? or even worse teased???

I finally made up my mind and went. When I arrived it was the after noon and she was there in a battle gear? The people walking near weren't as confused as I am, they were walking passed as if it was normal, so I walked up to her and she said

"wait a sec," pulling out a card

she handed the card to me and it read "invitation."

"what this?" I asked.

"it's for you, y-you look trustworthy and quiet so I thought you'd keep this a secret" she said

"but we don't even know eachother?" I exclaimed

"I'm Nessa, and you're Sawari?" Nessa said with excitement

"wait how do you-" I was interrupted

"because I-l...like you" she said under her breath

"huh," I wondered

Another shot of light illuminated the sky near the forest

"what was that nessa?" I said

"it's been happening recently, and that card I gave you is for the test you'll take to go on adventures. I've been doing this for a long time, and there's others here too." she explained

"so this is more or so like a game?" I said

"yes, it's been here since then, factions at our school go here since the light in the sky started beaming, they go here to get stronger, but I only go here for adventures." she said while blushing

"adventures huh?" I said with a grin

So i began to walk toward the forest and a barrier like thing passed through me and a man with a face of light and a body of light appeared before me.

the light said, "hello sawari, you are a really lucky individual"

I said, "why? and who are you?"

the light explained, "you are the embodiment of a ruler, with a good companion on your hands"

I said, "what do you mean ruler"

the light pulled in a stats screen with cards in front of me, and a skills tree that looked unlimited. the skills read out "1st: grimoire of mystery, 2nd: staff, 3rd: the light prayer of healing, and 4th passive: bravery." the lights began to fade and it was getting darker

I yelled out, "who are you?"

as he faded away I tried chasing it and as I ran i tripped on a stone and landed on nessa, our lips touched, and my eyes locked on hers, she closed her eyes and hugged me so tight that I could feel my body turn to noodles. She loosened her grip and removed her lips from mine.

Nessa said, "I've been waiting for this moment ever since grade school"

She started to blush and passed out. I stared at her for a good 5 minutes.

I thought to myself, "I'm in deep s***"
