3 A Carriage For Every Little Thing (2)

"Splosh..."

"That's the sound of something getting into the water!" the thump and splashes sound grabs Qing Lang's attention as he gets closer to the Prairie pothole. It was entirely a bet as the possibility of water source comes from underground or outside of the prairie is similarly high.

"Great! The water source is clean. And there's no hint of contamination around this area. I'm pretty lucky I think..." Mu Qing Lang scooped a handful of water for a sip. After making sure that the water has no issue with it, he starts to fill the Spatial Water Gourd until it was full.

If one wanted to ask what he feels at this moment, its why he only has one Spatial Water Gourd, not two, not three, or ten. While ten liters of water is more than enough for a person, its only enough for one to one and a half day at most.

"Wait..." Mu Qing Lang remembered something important.

"What was the thing that slammed onto the water's surface and caused splashes earlier?" Qing Lang scanned his surrounding but found nothing unordinary. There are some small fishes similar to capelin in his previous life swimming inside, but they're too insignificant to cause that kind of sound.

"I guess I should pay more attention the next time I came here. As for now, let's look for something worth collecting and return to the carriage. I think Xiao Hui should be hungry by now. If there are carrots around here that would be great."

Mu Qing Lang did not hesitate to leave the pond of water after he filled his Spatial Water Gourd. Using the way he made on his way earlier, Mu Qing Lang stumbles with no difficulties on his way back. This gave him a small window of time to collect random plants and woods along the way.

Meanwhile, a green silhouette left the side Mu Qing Lang missed when he inspects his surrounding. This being was around 120cm in height, two-legged creature, with a fully green appearance and earrings made of stone on both ears.

If Mu Qing Lang saw this creature, he will immediately recognize its name and their nature.

[Goblins]

A two-legged creature that similar to a human in many aspects. Capable of imitating the human and weaponry they used, the goblin is also excelled in stealth activities and kidnapping. Only from how it hides from Mu Qing Lang when he arrives shows how smart is the monster.

But instead of choosing to attack or following him back to where he came, the goblin left the small pond towards the south direction and arrived at its village about 6 kilometers away. There are three houses in this village, housing seventeen goblins altogether.

Their weapon was crude stone knives, and stone mace. Only the leader of this pack has a small dagger seems to be made from copper.

[I saw human storing water in the pond above the head. He seems weak]

The goblin reported to the leader of the pack in goblin language. For a goblin leader leading sixteen other members, fighting against a human can be said as sending themselves to death. This is due to the introduction of cultivation in every human settlement, which allowed them to increase their strength without a limit on how high can they achieve.

The cultivation in this world starts with Spiritual Palace Creation. They're ranked at First Stage as the lowest, and Tenth Stage as the highest before they challenge themselves for an opportunity to advance into Spiritual Palace Condensation.

To make it easier to understand, Those in the Spiritual Palace Creation are usually between Level 1 to Level 10, While those in Spiritual Palace Condensation are in Level 11 further.

As for the goblins, they are categorized as half-step Level 1 creature due to their limited size, body, health, and strength. A healthy human with mere cultivation can live over 100 years old, but for a goblin, it was only one-fourth of the human lifespan.

This is why four goblins may compete against a human in the battle of longevity, but it doesn't mean that four Half-Step Level 1 goblin can win the fight against a full Level 1 human. If the pack of seventeen goblins wishes to attack and plunder this human, they might need to be prepared to lose a third of their number in this attack.

While the Goblin is still pre-occupied by the news, Mu Qing Lang had his day easier. In his both hand is a bunch of by-species of wheat and also soybeans. As it was one of the best kind of plants to be grown in this prairie, Mu Qing Lang will not miss the chances to inspect them before he plans anything further.

Back to the Carriage of Immortality, Mu Qing Lang headed straight onto the chair just beside the table. Once the table scanned the vegetation he brought back, two options came up for me to tap of either one.

[*Chang-Er Bronze Wheat*]

[*Mingwen Soybean*]

"I'll choose Chang-Er Bronze Wheat first!" Qing Lang tapped on the first choice where the information about this plant came out without any delay.

Chang-Er Bronze Wheat [Unranked]

Condition: Matured / one of the three dietary supplements grown in Chang Emperor Prairie

Maturity: 7 days in a natural condition (60 hours if nourished by Spiritual Thread)

Harvest: 26 plantable seeds / Chang-Er Bronze Straw

-

Item Description: A matured stalk of wheat that naturally grows in the Chang Emperor Prairie. The plant is easy to manage and harvest, but due to the difficulty in milling them, the Chang-Er Bronze Wheat is treated as a wild plant throughout the entire Chang Emperor Prairie. Due to the lack of cultivation on this certain plant, it's quality is too low to be graded.

"I cannot believe what I just read. Did the Carriage of Immortality announce that this plant isn't qualified to be cultivated en masse to reduce the risk of famine throughout the world?" Mu Qing Lang cannot believe what was shown to him.

In his previous world, the wheat itself is one of the staple food eaten routinely, followed by rice, soybean, potato, and other tuberous roots. To see how it was undervalued by those from Chang Emperor Prairie caused Qing Lang to feel sad on behalf of the wheat.

"Should I... Cultivates it? With Carriage of Immortality by my side, can I achieve what I would like to do?" Mu Qing Lang considered the option but unfortunate for him, the carriage did not give him any other additional suggestion except the remaining choices still bolded.

"Fine. I'll slowly move closer to the pond by planting the Xian-Ren Grass one plot beside another. I'll start growing the wheat when I moved to the next short-grass area." Mu Qing Lang decided and tapped on.

Mingwen Soybean [Unranked]

Condition: Matured / one of the three dietary supplements grown in Chang Emperor Prairie

Maturity: 6 days in a natural condition (50 hours if nourished by Spiritual Thread)

Harvest: 11 pods / 3 plantable seeds each

-

Item Description: Planted by an ancient farmer name Ming Lao Wen. Because the soybean was cultivated by this man for one time, it carries his name as a tribute to his effort. The Mingwen Soybean can be grown at all season except winter and can be made into varieties of soy product. The quality of this plant is too low to be graded.

"Well, this clarify one question in my mind." Mu Qing Lang tapped his fist on his other palm as if he found out the answer to one of his questions regarding this world.

While the Xian-Ren Grass Seed produces by the Carriage of Immortality can be made into Xian-Ren Pill, this doesn't mean that all vegetation he found around him belonged to the same category. With two of the three dietary supplements in this Chang Emperor Prairie has been discovered by him, Qing Lang shows a hint of eagerness to search for the third ingredient.

This also made him decides on what to do next. He will put aside the Mingwen Soybean's seed aside for now, and continue to look for more of them. As for now, slowly shifting his base to the next short-grass area is most important.

And from there onwards, he will grow four batches of the Chang-Er Bronze Wheat before planning for something else. If he followed this kind of arrangement, it should be easy for him to collect at least 3,000 stalks of Xian-Ren Grass and between 500 straws of wheat.

What he did not expect is while he was so absorbed into the planning and understanding the plant, a team of six goblins is coming back to the Prairie Pothole to search for the track made by the human one of them seen earlier.

Their intention?

To rob this human of course, and increases their food stash in preparation to fight against the natives living on this Chang Emperor Prairie!
