8 Ch. 8 : Survive

" Su Mei? " A young woman hesitantly called out. Somehow, the most enthusiastic member who propose the exploration suddenly went quiet, maybe she was scared?

They have just passed a room full of zombies, which unfortunately occupied the storage room. Although they don't want to be sieged, but they have to grit their teeth and begun to plan on how they divide the jobs.

There's 4 zombies inside, facing 8 people, of course they have number advantage. But all of them are mostly hiding behind the people who come down to first floor, only several people have experienced first hand how to kill those zombies. And of course, the woman are not exposed at all, so it's normal to be scared.

Yuan Ran patted Su Mei out from her daze, but Su Mei unconsciously let out a yelp out of surprise.

All of the members angrily glared back to her, telling her to shut up, they didn't want to attract those monsters attention before they finalized the plan.

Su Mei consciously apologize, " I am sorry, I am also thinking how to deal with those things.... Do we really need to? I mean, we can just pass to the secretary department first to look, right? " After all, the first priority to find the card key of kitchen storage. The second is food, then weapon.

" But Yao Shan said someone just transport several gallons of water to this place. Won't it better to stock the water first since it's closer then continue to go up after that? " This argument shuts Su Mei, who then bites her lips and then stuff herself to the corner. Yuan Ran is also surprised by the reply, so she ignored her weird behavior and went to comfort her instead.

Su Mei could only forced herself to smile and appease the woman in front of her, saying it was nothing. After all, what's good of saying things that no one will believe? Especially when she got no evidence of it!

Starting from year ago, she have read an online novel that are quite famous. And not only that, the name of supporting character is Jiang Su Mei! She had seen many novels starting novels, some similarity didn't immediately excite her, but soon enough, she is swept by a torrent of exquisite valiant female lead's heroic acts.

The female protagonist is a woman called Wei Ya, an independent and strong woman with hourglass shaped body and owner of powerful fire ability, coupled by a harem of male leads that are fighting for her affection and favor, both in the open and in the dark.

To put it bluntly, it's brainless(a pun) text, full of cliche super OP female lead with a dozen of male leads, like typical stallion protagonist with a hundreds of dead brained(a pun again XD) beauties with large breast and 8 inch waist, but in different genders.

So Su Mei enthusiastically followed the text for almost a year, when the author suddenly announced that they will upload 2 final chapters, one for the final ending, and the other one to answer the fans' conspiracy theories.

In fact, as soon as they reported those appearance of 7 ice mountains that just suddenly appeared out of nowhere, she immediately acted fast and start stocking up supplies, dry and long lasting food and many other stuffs like medicine, then locked each of the doors with double locks. Unfortunately, if not for the fact that she saw that the novel didn't follow the 'a jade become a space' troupe, she rather grit her teeth and risk to find a way to steal one of female protagonist harem's space ability.

But there's of course an exception, the patriarch of Shi Family in the capital, who owned several high grade paintings, only to find him and Shi direct bloodline to have the ability to enter the space between paintings. Inside the painting, he can put his supplies, and even helped the military to swallow whole granary to bring back to the base, earning a supreme height of authority. They played as minor supporting role until its found out that direct heir of Shi family who ran away from home has been helping a cannon fodder from a capital punishment, surnamed Song, who let a zombie inside the base, and accidentally let it's virus mixed to the water tank and led to inner zombie breakout in the east base.

Then they severely beaten down by other jealous forces in the base before having to move out to another base.

The reason why Su Mei immediately dislike Song Qian Yi is when she found out several key plots inside the novels coincide with Song Qian Yi's condition, a young capable woman who is going to be married to a powerful, rich man in F City, which is the place where she work, and also pregnant. She was so surprised by the similarity, and concluded that this novel might be real. Then who is Jiang Su Mei who is destined to die miserably to protect her non related sister, Wei Ya? She is neither young rich lady who wantonly pursue handsome guys in the story, is she just an unnamed cannon fodder who happens to share the same name as the protagonist's little sister?

She clenched her fist tightly, she won't be so stupid to not to do anything! Anything to survive this apocalypse! But to do that, she must do something to help her a step further than anyone else!

A sigh escaped a pair of chapped lips. Shi Xiao who finally got to rest after cleaning up those remains pursed his lips as he encourage himself to move.

He manages to clean up unscathed, and after lined the corpses to the side of the room, he sat down and eat another portion of foods and an egg to appease his growling stomach.

He didn't have enough stamina to do anything else, so beside sealing the entrance, he immediately patted his butt and went to eat and drink in the corner. He was very exhausted, deciding this is the last time he'd try to go alone. He have to find some reliable people to team up, preferably someone with high moral value, strong combat experience, and willing to negotiate.

It's better after he rested for awhile, and he immediately searching for supplies and most importantly car keys. Only elite staffs in manager positions and higher are bringing their cars to the company, he displayed some of car keys he found and compared their ability. Which boys didn't like cars? But he only want stronger cars with bigger compartment to hold supplies and maybe tougher walls and of course, maybe that kind of super cars that ate low amount of gasoline and 1/3 rely on solar panels.

It's been a trend lately to own a solar panel powered cars in capital two years ago, he hoped that the trend reach here too. But after looking through the cars keys, he couldn't remembered some of them, and decided to bring them all. Anyway, if he somehow alerted a swarm of zombies in underground garage, he could press the keys to confuse them.

He placed them inside the side of his backpack, and stuff the foods and drag the water back to his temporary camp. Tomorrow he will to start looking in another floor, maybe 4th or 3rd floor?
