38 Chapter 0: A (not very) quick catch up of Reality Bending (Book 1)

Rydel Daera is a simple research student with a space force military background in the middle of an engineering expedition when he stumbles upon the resting place of a powerful item that can bend spacetime with his will. By closing and opening his palm, he is able to fold a region of space upon itself in order to hide something away, or put that pocket of space in another region of space.

After passing the trial of the artifact, he became the owner of the artifact named 'Glove of Summoning' and the activation sends out a wave of energy signature that's detected by another artifact user, Cellica Uleric.

Cellica explained after travelling to Rydel and meeting him that there are many more artifacts around the galaxy, but not many of them are activated and she is lucky that she was looking at the right place and the right time across the galaxy when the activation happened. Cellica's artifact allows her to see across the cosmos at all the possible wavelengths. She explained that a few other artifact bears have already activated their powers and set up a base on a mining planet named Athena 3.

There is Dolon, the warrior Aquarian, whose artifact can generate any amount of electricity; Ol Kon, a retired old Aquarian veteran, whose artifact can answer any question he poses once a day and a strange little Rockie named Torelamri, whose artifact have time manipulating powers that he uses it to catch deadlines.

Having just activated his artifact, the group known as the Bearers of the Artifacts offered to train Rydel in controlling the artifact and promises that he can choose to leave at the end of the training once he can control this immense power and not let it affect his normal living or cause dangers to people around him.

Through intense physical training and artifact skills training using the program provided by Dolon, Rydel have improved a lot and became rather proficient at using his space folding powers to summon items to him or throw it away from him. At the end of the training, he and Dolon had a trianing fight in the virtual servers of the galaxy's biggest online battle game, The War Game, of which Dolon is a professional player using her incredible Aquarian fighting prowess and the martial arts that she mastered throughout her lifetime.

After the training, Rydel decided to head back to his research institution Galactic Institute of Science and Technology to finish his degree, and that's when he encountered a thief from the wild region of space named Zel Frin, who used his artifact Pocket to slip through this universe by moving himself to a parallel domain of sort to steal an expensive research equipment from the department. Cellica is visiting Rydel and that's when she saw the energy signature given off by Zel's artifact activating.

Rydel chased down Zel and their spatial manipulation powers had a run in, causing both of them to be trapped in Zel's Pocket dimension. Through distracting Zel by talking, Rydel secretly activated his artifact to steal back the high tech equipment from within the secure containers. When Rydel is thrown out of the pocket dimension, he lost grip of the equipment and broke it by releasing it straight into the bush.

Before Rydel left Athena 3, Ol has warned him about an mysterious organization that also have multiple artifact users and is actively hiding from his and Cellica's detection somehow. He suspected that the organization is going to go after the broken equipment that's shipped back to the factory for fixing and followed suit with the Dolon's assistance.

Meanwhile, Zel returned to the person that hired him for the job, Lady Lily, the artifact owner of the Pen of Rearrangement, who disables the security system easily. Nobody is too happy with the result of this operation, and Zel is captured by Lady Lily. He was forced to do one last job to steal the broken pieces of the equipment back on it's way through shipping before Lady Lily will use her powers to fix the equipment herself.

By using Sir Deva's artifact power, Mass Projector, the shipment ship that's travelling at high speeds is pulled out of the paths of travel and blown up by the two crew member that accompanied Zel. He killed them for their betrayal as he uses this burst of energy which overrode the monitoring system and sends out an email asking for help to the bearers in case of his capture.

Rydel received the message and the bearers are able to travel to the planet named B1 in between the Wild regions and the Settled regions. Rydel and Cellica sucessfully infiltrated the base and rescued Zel as Rydel faced off against Gold, one of Dolon's older rivals on The War Game. He managed to win narrowly due to the creative use of his artefact, and the rescue group escaped sucessfully.

The group that's supposed to distract the main forces of the base composed of Dolon and Ol didn't fare very well, and Dolon is captured by Lady Lily after she learned that the Aquarian is also an artifact bearer. The Organization Lady Lily works for, the Absolute Being, made a run for it before the main forces of GBI, the government agency that Cellica works for, arrives.

Rydel swore that he will sneak into the Academy in which Absolute Being selects and trains their recruits in order to save Dolon. Cellica will work in the GBI to increase their focus on this organization and Zel is going to the wild space to coordinate with the rescue as long as learning about the possible fate of his long lost adopted mother.

The leader* of the Absolute Being left Lady Lily in charge of the Absolute Academy while he headed into the settled regions as Sir Deva went deep into the wild regions in search of more artifacts and their users.

*The underlings user the leader to refer to the boss of the Absolute Being, while those directly under his tutilage refer to him as the Master.
