9 Chapter 08: Candidate?

Starting from 5 pm, Li family mansion opened its door to welcome the arriving guest. This kind of gala thrown by the chairman of Galactic fashion Magazine would normally only invite fashion associate and businessman but today they unusually invite every well-known dughter of reputable companies and actress whom known to have clean reputation. specially unmarried girls; the main purpose of this gala is to search for perfect candidate for the chairman Li's grandson.

Ofcourse, the Li family gala today was different. After all, this party is only for choosing a granddaughter. The background isn't important as long as the chairman approved of. for example, actress that came from a normal background could have possibly be chosen and became an instant madam, like cinderella so the Gala are alot bustling than usual.

Ladies have been competing silently, since who would not want to be the future madame of a big Fashion Corp? and so, the normal Gala became a very special day for those girls who wishes to have an all-out change of fortune.

Since the main reason is very special, the Li family decided to make the Gala in the Li ancestral mansion.

Soft music played as the guest enjoyed their time talking about business or random things. food and drinks that have been served could be said the best as the food had been prepared by famous chef. The Li family really had spend alot this time!

In a inconspicuous table a young woman sat down after refilling her plate of chocolate cake ganache.

The young woman, that have been eating nonstop but still maintain her elegant image was non other than melody, who truthfully enjoy herself in her own bubbles.

Melody had been eating every single food that catches her eyes, without making everyone notice what she was doing. The chocolate cake that she was eating now are her 2nd batch, as she really love how the pastry chef made it less sweet but still maintain the same mouth watering chocolate flavor.

"The Li family really leaves to the name of 2nd most wealthy family" i mumbled.

I slowly cut the chocolate cake with my fork and bring it to my mouth and almost moan at how delicious it was. through i hate going to gathering like this, but i really love the food they serve. The food i can't eat because of my manager, can be found here so its like i found a treasure trove and had decided to ransacked it, but i never do it to just any parties. really! I just chose the party with the biggest place so i can hide in inconspicuous corner to eat. small gathering is a no-no!

"There you are!" someone tap my shoulder causing me to stand up in suprise, looking like a bad girl that have been catch doing bad things. looking up, i saw the granpa whom personally given me the invitation.

"Grandpa!" i yelled and happily greet him, while patting my chest. ah, almost had a heart attack!

"Grandpa, you looked more handsome tonight!" i said looking at his stylish suit making him looked cheerful and easy going. I invited him to sit beside be. I walked to the nerby catering and put light meal in the plate, with a glass of ice tea and bring it back to give it to granpa.

"Grandpa, the Gala hasn't started yet but i know you've been working nonstop for sure as the event is really big. you should eat now as im sure, your going to be busy later!" i warmly said to him as i gently pushed the plate to him.

grandpa just looked at me as untraceable light flashes through his brown eyes, as he curls his lips to me, smiling brightly as he accepts the food i got for him.

"You really are, a great candidate for my grandson. really perfect to be her bride!" grandpa happily said as he ate everything on the plate.

"Grandpa - you....?!!" i really didn't know why grandpa say such embarrassing comment, he also said that a while ago, when we are eating breakfast.

Grandpa look up at me thoroughly before mumbling "truly match" "cute and behave" "look like can bear cute babies" and so on and so forth.

i shook my head and start minding my own food. unbeknownst to the two eating figure, a man seating in the wheelchair are watching the through his laptop. hacking the CCTV cameras in the mansion.

He watch as his grandfather make her way like a bee in the venue and had been ignored by young ladies in the venue, but have been well welcome by a young woman whom had been eating nonstop, since i had seen her entering the mansion.

Does she know my grandfather?? They seemed closed, is she one of my grandfather's candidate for me? my face darkened at the thought of it. I won't make a woman play me again for my money this time! specially since she seems close to my grandfather.

Just like the ancient said, women are destruction. Women loves money, technically they can't leave withiut it because they can't sustain their vanity and so money is the main reason of women's greed.
