Misunderstanding And Broken Hearts

Dana's heart jumps on her chest when she hears Bobby yells Grand's name. She quickly turned around to see the man, but she wasn't ready for what she saw.

Grand holding the same girl she saw with him in the coffee shop. They were standing and talking so close to each other.

Dana heard a buzzing in her head, and she felt a coldness seep through her heart. Ah,... truly the man she's chasing isn't someone she can attain.

She felt Bobby's palm on her back urging her to move forward. Her mind is screaming no, but Grand's eyes already landed on them. She took a deep breath and thought of it as one of the social performances she has to do back home as part of her family responsibility.

Stepping forward, she acknowledges all the teaching her aunt Joy imposed on her at such a young age. The way she was taught on how she should control her emotion below her pelvic region, as not to have it shown on her face.

She forced down her jealousy, strengthened her back, pulled back her shoulders, and plastered her famous smile that made all the boys fall in love, and the majority of the girls hated her way back in high school.

She is now being extremely grateful for the five inches heels Madame Bae coerced her to wear because the girl standing beside Grand is tall enough to be a model.

Grand is gritting his teeth in anger watching Dana and Bobby approaching him. He can't take his eyes off on Dana's face,... err not just her face. Xian was right. She's such a babe. And the thought that Bobby has his claws on her annoyed the hell out of him. But Bobby was right, Dana is free for the taking.

But it doesn't change the fact that he's boiling in jealousy. He's been justifying it with himself that the reason for his jealousy is that because Dana reminds him of the first girl that actually broke his heart.

The same reason why he doesn't want to be involved with her, but at the same time he doesn't want anyone being with her other than him. He's aware that he is being a jerk. But what can he do, his ego is the one talking, and it wants the girl.

His eyebrows knitted in annoyance when he realized Bobby's hand landing on Dana's back. He exhales deeply to displace his desire to be one standing beside her. He pushed back the greedy thought of wanting to take a dibs on her. He can't afford to lose his concentration to his bigger goal in life. He wants the championship. Not a girl he can get any time.

"Happy birthday, Bro!" he said, as he pulled Dana away from Bobby to shake his friend's hand.

"Thanks! I thought you wouldn't be able to come." Bobby said, smirking watching what he did with Dana.

"Hello, I believe we haven't introduced yet. I'm Bobby," he said, giving his hand for a handshake to the girl who's grabbing Grand's jacket.

"Li Na," she answered bluntly.

Bobby can't help but grin when Grand shakes off the hand of the girl. It must be the girl his parents are matching with him.

"What's your name?"

Dana slowly lifted her left eyebrow when she heard the girl named Li Na asking for her name.

"Hello, nice meeting you. My name's Dana." she smiled sweetly to the girl's displeasure.

"Li Na. Are you friends with Wang Wei?"

Dana, keeping the perfect smile on her lips answered the girl, "Yes, we are."

"How did you know each other?"

It's like this girl is so shameless to the point that it's easy to call her a word that starts with the second letter of the English alphabet.

Dana discreetly smiled, glancing at Grand before answering the girl. "I've met Wang Wei from a friend." The girl looks unhappy with her answer, but she doesn't care. The idea that this girl is this insecure only means one thing. She doesn't have a strong hold with Grand.

Too bad for you, I've been dealing with girls like you all my life, is what Dana's thinking, watching the open irritation of Li Na.

"Do you want to dance?" Bobby asked her, that ended the staring competition she had with Li Na.

"You said you don't know her! She heard Li Na said to Grand before Bobby pulled her to dance.

"Thank you for tonight. Let me buy you a meal next time," she told Bobby when he drove her home.

But she didn't expect him to ask for it today, that's what she thought after reading the message he sent with the restaurant address telling her he wanted to have dinner there.

Glancing at the clock on her bedside table, it shows two-fifteen in the afternoon. She yawns thinking about what she should wear for dinner. She picked up her phone again to search online, but she saw an unread message from Jess. She checked it first then scrolled the Moments of her friends and stopped midway.

She put down her phone and then picked it up again. She opens her WeChat, and indeed she can see her previous messages and from what she can see, she now can send a message to Grand. Did he unblock her?

Confused, she typed a lengthy message to Jess detailing everything that happened from last night until today. She hates that she can't easily call her whenever she wants to.

She is still in the middle of typing her message when she gets an incoming call. Glancing on the caller's name she saw that it was Bobby.

"Hello Princess, are you still in bed?" he asked in his usual teasing manner.

"Yeah, but I've been awake for a while."

"How come you haven't replied to my message? You're buying me dinner tonight."

"Hai! Will buy you dinner… I was just answering Jess's message. Are you going to pick me up or should we just meet at the restaurant?

"Of course, I'll pick you up, what are we neighbors for?"

"But it's not like you're always staying here."

"Why Princess, do you want me to stay more in East City?" he asked still in his teasing voice, but with a tone lower.

Dana found herself speechless. She just realized that Bobby has been calling her Princess in the duration of the call like she's been his Princess her whole life.

"Hey, still there?"

"Yeah, what time will you pick me up?" she abruptly asks to end the call.

"Seven-ish."

"Okay, later then," she said and ended the call with a burning sensation on her face.

After dropping the call she went to the bathroom to wash her face but ended up taking a shower instead. Standing under the warm water, her mind drifted off to what was happened since last night.

Grand is still dating even when according to Ellise, he dumped all her girlfriends when he got his own team to manage. The girl Li Na is beautiful and quite aggressive with her liking of Grand. And her family is a long time family friend and business partner of the Wangs.

Bobby's attitude towards her feels different, and no, it's not just because he called her Princess. She isn't assuming special treatment from any guys as something more. It's a headache that she doesn't want to deal with.

Getting out of the bathroom wearing a robe and a towel wrap on her hair, she decided to pick clothes to wear for later. The restaurant is a bit formal, but she wants to wear something casual and fresh.

She decided on a navy blue flowing baby doll dress with long sleeves and a round collar. She picked a black platform ankle boots to go with the dress. She may not be blessed with height but with the help of heels, she can stand tall.

Lying down the clothes and the accessories she'll wear on her bed. She knew she had to do some shopping because she no longer has a lot of clothes to wear! She doesn't want to spend the money she got from Madam Bae that she decided to send a message to Nancy that she needs to buy new clothes.

Her mother said her aunt Joy can't support her financially, but then she knew that there are certain stores where she can get clothes from and have it put in her aunt's tab.

She still has a lot of time before Bobby arrives that, she decided to make herself a cup of matcha latte. She brought her drinks to the balcony and opened her WeChat again to stalk Grand, and got a big surprise when she saw the new profile picture he's using.

He is using the photo of him she drew and posted in her Weibo account!

He even tags the artist Arbiter on Weibo saying thank you and asking permission to use the said picture.
