The magical performance finished and everyone stood up to give Dana a standing ovation and yet, Noah still could not think of a way how to fix the frown on Jess's face every time their eyes would meet. 

Lucille, pinching his arm and tugging his elbow, gave him a questioning look, or Ellise's smug expression on her face was not helping him at all. 

This impromptu trip was meant to be fun. Surprising and meeting Dana and her fiancé, taking Jess and Lucille to different places around NY, and the most important plan of his—to propose. 

In his head, they were all going to be easy. He was nervous but totally excited. He had things planned out. He booked a hotel where Soraya and Jin would take care of Lucille so that he and Jess could have private time together.
