Meeting The Tall Boy From The Past

"We have landed at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, time is twenty minutes past ten, the temperature on the ground..."

The pilot voice jolted Ellise from her reverie and realized she never thought how she would act, and what she would say to DT, now that she'll be living and working alongside him.

-WIZ Club, Shanghai-

"Boys get a hold of your raging hormones, we don't want to scare the first and probably only girl teammate we'll ever have." Ghost said to members of WIZ club who went over the top on preparing a welcome event for the mysterious, new member.

He can't blame these bunch of geeks though. Who would have thought that Wan would break his rules of no girl members allowed. Maybe the boss got soft since marrying his young wife. He's been working side by side with Wan since their tournament days, as his defense teammate, and now as manager and trainer of these kids. Wan's rules are notorious for being set in stone.

"She's here!!" a screaming One runs to report, as he was the one appointed to watch out for the car from the airport that picked up the new teammate.

"Are you ready?" Wan with a devilish smile asked DT, who's lounging on the bench press.

"Huh? Why do I have to get ready to meet your prodigy recruit, just give her in Grand's team," he told his uncle with disdain.

"Okay, don't take it back. She'll be under Grand's team then," he said.

DT, frowned at his uncle's grinning face like he has something towards him that is extremely amusing. "I really hate it when you're acting like that," he said, tilting his head towards the first floor because the racket was suddenly silenced on the game floor.

"She's here. Let's go, so I could have my fun, while you could wallow in regrets." Wan said, with the mysterious smile still plastered on his face, as he walked ahead to the spiral stairs that would bring them right in the middle of the game floor where everybody is waiting.

DT lazily stood up to follow his infuriating uncle to go down, he quickened his steps when bolstering cheers erupted from the first floor, where Seven's can be heard screaming at the top of his voice, "It's you! It's you!"

Do they know the new member? he thought, going down the stairs and then stopped dead track with his breath caught in his throat, when he saw the girl surrounded by rowdy boys, - wearing a white polo shirt, over black faded jeans. She's wearing the smile that's been haunting him since she disappeared in thin air after that night more than two years ago.

Her long dark brown luscious wavy hair, hugging her slim figure, also frames her small oval face that held those deep-set pairs of dark gray eyes. As if, she felt his intense gaze, she turns in his direction and said, "Wèi, hǎojiǔ bùjiàn (Hey, long time no see!)"

F*ck!!, DT screams internally. He caught his smile and tightened it before it showed on his lips, and said as casually as possible, "Yeah, it's been a while, and it seems like your Mandarin got better."

"Okay boys, Ellise has to pack her luggage, get some rest, and time for all of you to get back in front of your computers because she'll kick your asses when you don't take your training seriously," Wan said. "And that includes you DT."

DT throws his smirking uncle a murderous look.

"Boss, she can kick my ass anytime," said One, beaming.

"Let us show you your room Ellise." Ghost said, picking up Ellise luggage.

"Xièxiè Ge ge (Thank you, older brother)."

"How about you sit on your computer and I'll give you a whooping kick in the ass." she hears DT said to One, as she walks following Wan and Ghost to her room.

"This will be your room." Ghost said, opening the metal door. All of the rooms inside this building are re-purposed container vans, which give it a very industrial feel.

"The room next to you is aunt Lan Cheng, you can knock on her door if you need something. She's not there at the moment, she is, I think running errands with Grand, you'll meet him later at the party. He's the only member missing on the game floor."

"You've been here before, so you're well aware of the rules and how things work here," Wan said. "We can't offer you a special treatment, just because it's you."

"Everything is fine and in my liking, Boss," she said smiling to Wan.

"Hmm, good then, let's talk about the few days off you're asking before your training on the game floor with all the members," Wan said, pulling the wooden bench on the foot of the bed.

"Yes, I'd like a two weeks time off to meet people I have to see before starting being an official member of your club," she said, sitting down on a wooden crate opposite Wan's. Suppose this crate serves as a coffee table in this room.

"As of today, you're an official member of the club. You already signed the contract and the validity of it starts once you set foot inside this building." Ghost reminded her.

"You must be quite busy and not have enough time to read the documents," Wan told her gently.

She turned red with embarrassment because she knows what's written in the contract and asking to get out of the dormitory isn't allowed. Members mostly just get off during the New Year holiday, she even heard from DT before that there was a time, they didn't get vacation the whole year when they lost a game. Wan is infamous for being hard to his players. She knows that her special treatment is due to Wan and Joy's friendship. She doesn't want these men to have an impression that she isn't serious about being a CTF player of the club.

"Unpacked your things, and take a rest. Your welcome party will be at dinner time." Ghost said. "Wan you need to look over Spirit's string command today."

Ellise gives her a grateful smile for saving her face in that awkward situation.

"Have a good rest and have your gamer name ready for later," Han said, standing up to leave the room.

"Don't be shy to tell Ge ge if you need help." Ghost said, closing the door and being smacked in the head by Wan.

Ellise giggles, while dropping her body on the bed. She doesn't think she needs a rest, she's too excited to be here.

DT looks taller and more handsome, she thought. He doesn't look like he is angry with me, should I apologize?, Ellise thinking about how she should proceed later on. She wants to have a civil working relation with DT. She'll be here for a long time, and she doesn't want to be uncomfortable with him and Asya.
