'Home' - a  place where Laurie has been estranged since she lost her father. She and her mother had a hard time patching their relationship ever since. 

In the beginning, her mother served as the mediator between her and her father since they always clashed with each other. When her father died, her mother didn't know how to communicate with her. There's nothing to mediate. And when her father died, she was angry. 

Her guilt hid in anger. She was angry at everyone and everything. And her way to release her anger was to do things that were against her father's rules. 

That's why when Jiro said they would go home; the word felt strange to her. She doesn't consider any place home. Not even London where she spent so many years because of work.
