8 Inhabitation Pt 2

"FUCK YOU, PINKY! GET BACK HERE!"

"KAMI, HELP ME!"

"EVERY MAN FOR THEMSELVES!"

Small explosions and squeals followed by lots of laughter drifted into the kitchen.

Izuku was getting dinner prepared, while most of the residents were in the common room or dining room. He laughed heartily as he watched Katsuki launch himself at Mina, who had started messing with him after her third defeat.

Uraraka was setting the tables with Ibara, while Itsuka was helping with the food prep, focusing on dicing onions and getting them ready to go into the big pot.

The four had settled on an Italian dish that his mother had tasted once while on a trip and recreated at home. Izuku was busy preparing the meat and adding spices and seasonings.

Momo was chuckling from her chair, sitting at the breakfast bar, watching the animated tussling and roughhousing.

She turned back to watch Itsuka chop the onions sharply and into perfect sized pieces, then dump them into the pot.

'She's really handy with that knife, almost like she was trained.' Itsuka noticed Momo watching and smiled at her.

"Mom's a professional chef, so I had to learn fast. She seemed to think it would me find a husband," she said with a chuckle.

Momo laughed with her, Izuku chuckling softly, moving over the stove and stirring the onions that were sauteing.

'Next, the garlic and pepper,' he mentally checked off as he portioned out the right amount, and mixed it into the onions.

"I'm glad to have the help, Kendo," Izuku said, turning to face her, smiling, "It makes the meal better when more people help make it."

"I agree! Mom always had me help her. It was great bonding time for us," Itsuka said, smile wide.

"I wish I could have done something like that with my parents," Momo said forlorn, a sad smile on her face. "They made time for me, but never enough to be able to have such wonderful memories." Izuku looked thoughtful for a second, then he looked up at her with his smile wide.

"I know we aren't your parents, but I'd be more than happy to have you cook with us!"

Itsuka nodded along with the green haired boy.

"It's always more fun with others," she said with a large smile.

"Thank you, I'd love to!",a soft smile on Momo's face.

'That's better,' Izuku thought, satisfaction glinting in his eyes.

"Okay, Deku, the tables are set! What else needs to be done?" Ochako's beaming face looked up at him from the dining room.

He stared, a goofy smile on his face, for just a split second.

"Thanks Ochako and Shiozaki! Go ahead and enjoy the party, food's not quite ready." Izuku bowed slightly to the young women, and turned back to the food prep.

The party had turned from just Katsuki beating Mina and Denki at video games, into a loud and boisterous get-together. Toru had pulled out a card game that brought Pony seemed to be really good at, getting the advantage against Tsuyu and Hanta.

Katsuki had gone up against everyone that tried to take him, even on teams, and still came out on top. Kyoka provided music, fitting for the environment, talking to Denki and Fumikage about their preferences.

The others sat around and talked, trying to ignore the amazing smells coming from the kitchen.

After the onions and garlic had cooked down, Izuku added the ground beef and pork mixture to the pot and began cooking it in the grease and onions.

He had Momo help him with the preparation of the pasta sauce, which she took to easily.

'A fast learner and a good listener!' he marvelled as he watched her measure out the right ingredients and put them into the food processor.

He turned and smiled at Ochako, a pointed look on his face, who smiled back and winked at him, blushing a little.

She knew that anyone who could pick up Mama Midoriya's recipes fast was one to watch out for.

Itsuka had moved onto the pasta, but instead of hand making, which would take too long for this meal, she set up a large pot of water and got it ready for the huge box of shell pasta.

It seemed like no time at all before everything was done. The noodles soft, 'Al Dente, just like they are supposed to be,' Izuku smiled to himself. The sauce joined with the cooked meat, poured into the big pot and then cooked to simmering. Izuku added some more spices, and a little heat, just to bring it up a notch. Once it was cooked throughout, it was time to eat.

Izuku gave a wave to Kyoka and she cut the music. "Thanks Jiro! Food's ready guys! Bring me your bowls!" and turned back into the kitchen, before the crowd swarmed over him.

He dished out food to everyone, and then sat down with the others.

He was surprised to see they were waiting for him to join. As he sat down, they all said at once, "Thank you for the meal!" and then dug into the conchiglie bolognese like they hadn't eaten all day.

Izuku sat stunned for a couple seconds.

'I knew it was going to be good, but I wasn't expecting that!'

Ochako was sitting next to him, and had a look of absolute delight on her face as she was eating.

'Almost as good as his mom's. God, I love this man…'

The front door swung open again, everyone turned to look at the last person in their class to arrive.

A tall, thin man walked in, carrying a bag and a box. He looked at the table of students and a slight smile crossed his face.

Izuku was the first to stand. He walked over the man, and bowed. "Greetings, I am Izuku Midoriya. When you are ready, dinner is served." The man looked again at the table, then back at on the green haired man.

Izuku noted that the man looked very tired, his lilac hair a mess.

"Ah, many thanks. My name is Hitoshi Shinso."
