Call Connected.

"Ah, Young Midoriya, thanks for getting back to me."

"Sorry I missed your call, Sensei. I was talking and didn't want to be rude."

"No apologies necessary, young man. Are you busy? If not, meet me by the beach in a little bit."

"Oh! Sure thing! I'll be there soon!"

"Good to hear it. See you soon." Call Disconnected.

'I wonder what that's about. Probably his new teaching position.' And with that thought, Izuku started jogging towards the beach.

When he got to the railing, he saw Toshinori standing in the sand, looking out over the water.

He turned as he heard Izuku approach.

"Good evening, sensei!" Izuku said with a bow.

"Congrats on passing," Toshinori said as he reached out for a high-five.

Izuku clapped his hand to Toshinori's and smiled broadly.

"You should know that the school doesn't know about our relationship, and I wasn't a judge on the exam."

He regarded his apprentice with pride and a wide smile.

"I know you are the type to worry about favoritism, but that didn't happen here. This was all you."

"Thanks for telling me, sir. That means a lot."

Izuku bowed again, his respect and pride shining through.

"So, a professor at UA? That's amazing!"

"Yeah, I couldn't tell anyone until the school made it public. It was a good use of time, and would help me find a successor. But it turns out, I didn't need to worry too much." Toshinori chuckled lightly, and then clasped Izuku's shoulder.

"You have come so far, my boy. Even surpassing me in power. I have no doubt that you'll become the next Symbol of Peace, and you'll do an even better job than I did."

Izuku's smile was wide, and tears started to fall. He never believed in himself as much as Toshinori did now. To hear his idol and mentor put it into words was overwhelming.

He wiped his eyes and set his face on a smile.

"I'm passing the torch on to you, and so, my own power will fade in time. But I know that I can count on you to take my place. And I look forward to basking in the light of your triumph." Toshinori looked around, and noticed a couple groups, spending time on the beach.

"You have done so well, but don't let it go to your head. Stay Humble. Keep Training." "I will, Sensei!"

"Good. Now I have to get going. Keep up the excellent work."

And then Toshinori turned and walked away, leaving Izuku to his thoughts.

He walked home, pondering his progress, and devising new ideas or tools to help him.

He got home, jotted his ideas down in a notebook, and settled into bed.

The next month was going to take forever. But he had other things to look forward to.

The next day, Izuku woke up early and got cleaned up in record time.

'Not sure why I'm so nervous. She already said yes, and she already knows about my failsafe.' He quickly put that thought to the side, and made breakfast for himself and his mother.

While he was taking care of the dishes, he started to plan the date.

'Dinner is always a good choice. But what to do after? Maybe a walk along the beach? She does seem to like it there. We could also stop by the shopping center and walk around. Hm...'

'Send a message to Ochako Uraraka.'

'Good Morning! Hope you slept well! I'll meet you outside your apartment around 5 pm, if that's good with you?'

He turned to walk out of the kitchen and noticed his mom watching him closing.

"Have any big plans for the day?" She asked with a sly smile.

"O-oh, uh, yeah, actually. I asked Uraraka out for a date tonight." Izuku replied sheepishly, hand rubbing the back of his head.

"Oh Izuku! That's wonderful! I was starting to wonder when it was going to happen!" Inko's smile was wide and full of motherly love.

"Geez, mom. You're acting like I was going to be alone for the rest of my life, " Izuku chuckled.

"A mother tends to worry when her 18 year old has never gone on a date," Inko had a look of mock contempt, "and besides, I want lots of grandchildren, so you better get to it, mister."

Izuku blushed, hard, at that thought. "M-mom! It's just a date!"

The indignation in his voice only served to make his mother laugh.

"Oh you just wait, I've seen the way she looks at you. It'll happen sooner than you might expect."

"OKAY, THANK YOU, MOTHER!" he shouted as he sped back to his room, Inko cackling in the kitchen.

He got ready for the day, and settled down to do some more design work on his suit. He needed to have the costume design turned in by the end of the week, along with requested support items, and his designs were nowhere close to being done.

He drew short lines for his greaves including thrusters at specific angles, meant to help him fly, along with reinforcing clamps to stabilize him for a special attack he was working on.

Smooth, curved lines were drawn for his chest piece. Designed to increase his mobility, as well as regulate the excessive temperatures that he generated when using lots of energy. He included special instructions for the ideas he had for the backplate.

For his gauntlets: angles and straight lines, with sections that could be opened for tools he was requesting, as well as specific plates that would help with steering while flying.

He didn't really need the tools, but always wanted to be prepared, in case he reached his limit.

After a couple of hours of sketching and brainstorming, he stretched and went to make something for lunch. As he walked to the kitchen, he checked his Interface.

3 New Messages:

Thirteen: Morning, Deku! I slept good! The stress of not knowing about the exam results is finally gone.

Thirteen: 5 PM works perfect. I can't wait to see you!

Thirteen: I'm excited for tonight!

Izuku chuckled at her messages, before writing a response.

'Reply. Good! Dress casual and wear walking shoes.'

He smiled broadly, still marvelling that he managed to get a date with such a pretty girl.

After lunch, he went back to his design work until 4:00, when he started getting ready for their date.

It was about 4:45 when he left the apartment, dressed in his red shoes, jeans, and light short sleeved button up shirt. He walked at a measured pace, and got to Ochako's apartment just a minute before 5 pm.

He walked up to her door, and knocked.

A second later, the door opened, and crashed, mouth open slightly.

Ochako was wearing a very pretty pink shirt, with short jean shorts over leggings, and her pink trainers. The back of her hair was up in a ponytail.

Izuku snapped out of his revere, and smiled.

"You look really pretty, Uraraka! I like what you did with your hair!" She beamed up at him, blushing.

"T-thank you, Deku. You look handsome, too!", the blushing getting even darker.

"Thanks!" he said as he rubbed the back of his neck.

She turned to lock her door. "So, what do you have planned for us tonight," she asked, looking up at him.

He still hadn't taken his eyes off of her, and it was giving her a bubbly feeling.

"Oh, well, I thought I would treat you to dinner, and then we could go for a walk along the beach. I know we go there everyday, but it's much better when the sun is starting to set."

He smiled, and then pulling his eyes from her, turned to start walking. She was right next to him immediately.

"That sounds great! Are you sure you want to buy dinner? I don't mind paying."

"No no, Uraraka, this is my treat to you. I invited you on a date, remember?" She blushed again.

'It's not fair! How is he so nice? ALL THE TIME!?'

"Well, then at least let me buy dessert. I don't want you paying for everything.", she pouted a little bit, giving him slight puppy dog eyes.

Izuku threw his hands up in surrender.

"Okay okay! You win. You can buy us mochi after the beach, how does that sound?"

"Good. Then we have a deal." Izuku chuckled.

"So, where are we going for dinner?" Ochako looked up at his confident smile and felt the bubbly feeling again.

"I found a classic restaurant a while back that I have wanted to try out. Heard good things about it, so I figured we have some fun, and try something new."

"OK! That does sound fun!", Ochako said while bouncing a little bit.

'As long as he is near, everything is fun!'

A quick look of shock went over her face, Izuku none the wiser.

'Did I really just think that? Oh, I'm hopeless…'

They arrived at the restaurant a couple minutes later, and enjoyed dinner together, talking about what they are most excited for in school, what the dorms are going to be like, and other friendly subjects.

After dinner, they went for a slow walk towards the beach.

Getting there just as the sun was starting to set, Ochako had to agree with Izuku.

'It really is pretty out here. He was right, it's way different.' Izuku smiled and watched the water, thoughtfully.

They leaned up against the railing and just enjoyed the breeze and sounds of the beach as the sun set.

Izuku sighed happily, feeling content and at peace.

Ochako looked over at him, and smiled.

He had this small goofy smile and his eyes sparkled in the low sun light. She liked this look a lot. "I'm really glad you asked me out, Deku. I really like spending time with you." Izuku looked over at her, and smiled broadly.

"That makes me really happy to hear it, Uraraka. I like spending time with you too." He stared into her eyes for a couple of seconds, then pulled his gaze back to the water.

"We definitely need to do it more." He started chuckling.

"Though once school starts, I don't think we'll have much in the way of free time. We'll just have to make the most of it."

He smiled back at Ochako, who had a thoughtful look on her face.

"Whatcha thinkin' about?" He raised an eyebrow, teasing her a little.

She looked up at him, and smiled.

"Nothing particularly important!"

'He really does enjoy spending time with me. Even talking about school, like it might get in the way. What a dork!'

The sun was below the horizon at this point, and a cool breeze whipped across the beach.

Ochako shivered a little, and moved closer to Izuku, bumping elbows gently. Izuku looked down and saw she was blushing, with a faint smile, and shivering slightly. Izuku focused for a second and warmed up his blood and skin. Warm heat began to radiate off of him, which startled Ochako for a second. She looked up at his crooked smirk, and started giggling.

"Your quirk really is the best."

She hesitated for a second, then slipped her arm underneath Izuku's warm arm on the railing, locking elbows with him.

He stiffened up for a split second, then relaxed. He focused, and lowered the heat a little.

They stood there, just enjoying each other's presence for a couple minutes, then Ochako pulled away, still blushing.

"I think it's time for Mochi, what about you?" Izuku nodded and turned to follow her.

They walked to the same mochi shop they went to the previous day. Ochako paid just like she said she would, Izuku asking just once to cover it, but she was adamant.

After eating their treat, Izuku really didn't want it to end. He enjoyed being next to her too much. She was a calming presence that made the world feel right. They slowly walked back to Ochako's apartment.

"Thank you for a great night, Deku. I had a really good time!" She said as she unlocked the door.

"You're welcome. I had a great time too."

She stopped for a split second, then turned back to him quickly, and reached up to Izuku's face.

Izuku had a split second heart attack, before Ochako kissed him on the cheek quickly.

She turned, hiding her reddening face, and squeaked out a good night.

Izuku murmured, "Good Night." and then feeling his cheek as he walked home.

The walk home seemed to take forever, and yet no time at all for Izuku.

Sure, he had kissed her cheek first, but coming from her, it felt like…

'All tingly and warm. Warmer than the sunshine.'

He chuckled and shook his head, focusing on walking home.

After he got home, he found his mom in the living room, drinking tea and watching TV.

She looked up as he walked in, a goofy smile on his face.

"Have a good night?" Inko asked.

"Yeah, mom, it was...really good." Izuku looked down and smiled.

Looking back up, "It was great."

"Well, I'm glad. Make sure you get plenty of sleep tonight. Don't you start back up on your routine tomorrow?"

"Heh, yeah. I'm off to bed."

Izuku turned to leave, his mother watching him with a soft smile.

'He's gotten so big, so fast.'

There were three more weeks until school started, and Izuku was still putting the finishing touches on his Hero Costume. He needed to have it sent out tomorrow morning, so he was working feverishly to get it complete.

He had sent a couple messages to Mei, asking for input on some of his ideas. She loved everything he had to say, and was halfway through building most of it, even if it wasn't sanctioned by the school yet.

He managed to get the whole design complete in the afternoon, and sent in the info. He hoped they would agree with his ideas, some were a bit extreme, but all very useful.

His phone buzzed.
