HOW TO SURVIVE DEATH!

At that moment the door opened and an elderly woman came rushing in.

From her facial features and exquisite beauty, Qianzhi knew that that was Mei-ling's mother.

"How is your head?" Her mother asked as she gently touched her head. "Li-Na said you hit your head when you were preparing your things. I hope there is no bruise"

Qianzhi gave a stiff smile. "I'm fine mother."

"My lady said she wants to buy a dog." Li-Na chipped in.

Her mother turned to her with a quizzical look.

"A dog? Mei-ling. How odd. What do you need a dog for?"

Before Qianzhi could even respond her mother waved her hand off.

"Never mind." She said. "The carriage would soon be here to take you. The Empress and royal family can't be left waiting."

Qianzhi began to wail as she went down on the floor at her mother's feet.

"Nooooo I don't want to dieeee." Her mother looked at her up and down like she had gone nuts.

Mei-ling's mother was surprised at her behavior because she knew that her daughter was a rotten and very wicked child who didn't care about anyone despite her home training.

Since when did she care about her own mother?

Li-Na jumped up quickly.

"My Lady please don't do that!"

But Qianzhi was already in tears.

"Die? Who said you will die? But you had always wanted to go to the palace." Her mother said as Qianzhi rubbed her tears and snort in her mother's dress. "It's what you've wanted all your life. What is with this sudden change of attitude?"

Qianzhi quickly came up with something to avoid further suspicion. "It's just that I don't want to leave you since you would be all alone."

She looked up at her mother her make up drained with tears.

The support FL's father had passed on and her mother would live alone.

"I would miss you too." Her mother said scared at her daughter's sudden attitude. "But this is the palace! You become a concubine! You've always wanted this since you were a child! The other girls in the village are in the envy of you! And you know this is a decree. If you turn it down, the palace would have us killed."

Another road to death?!

Qianzhi jumped up to her feet in an instant in fear! She would be attempting to prevent her impending death and yet be running straight into another one?

"Ahhhh no now I want to go!" Qianzhi said running off into her room.

Leaving her mother and Li-na standing confused at her sudden behavior.

Once Qianzhi got into her room, she locked the door and pondered for a good one hour on what she was going to do.

Then it came to her.

She would act like Mei-ling and try her best to not arouse any suspicion to herself.

She had to tell herself that from now on her name was Mei-ling and she had to answer as only Mei-ling.

If someone called her Mei-ling she had to answer or they would begin to suspect she was not the villainess.

And how was she going to survive from impending death?

In the original story, the ML was the emperor who had just returned from the war.

He had lost his twin brother in the fight and so it was the FL who had managed to make him fall in love with her.

He was supposed to be a Handsome man who was said to have had a heart of stone.

But the FL had melted it.

At first when Qianzhi had been reading the book it had been so romantic that the FL had been so caring and supportive of the ML that he had been a sad man who couldn't do without her, but now she was the villainess, Qianzhi gave a sulked face.

Why would she want to waste her time trying to melt someone with a heart of stone when she could as well just make someone else fall in love with her?

Wasn't she beautiful enough?!

She would go to the palace as Mei-ling, try her best not be hated by the first class ranking concubines, avoid the ML emperor and avoid the FL when she returned.

The FL was supposed to come to the palace after three months of Mei-ling moving in to the palace.

Hence why the support FL had had time to seduce him.

Qianzhi twisted her face.

She was sure the emperor wasn't that awesome! Especially for her to die for!

"Mistress Mei-ling!" Li-Na sounded panicked. "Please open the door for your servant."

Qianzhi jumped up and opened the door for her helper.

"What was my lady doing?" Li-na asked looking scared. "Does my lady need her servant to bring a physician?"

Qianzhi shook her head. "No. I am fine. Let's get dressed and be going."

That lifted Li-na's spirits and she pulled out a beautiful attire for Qianzhi.

Once Qianzhi was done dressing up, she didn't even need make up to add to her face.

She was extremely beautiful!

How did such a beautiful young girl of nineteen turn to a villainess to kill someone?

And it didn't add up.

If she was so beautiful why hadn't the ML fallen in love with her?

Then she remembered that the ML didn't fall for looks, that was why he had fallen for the FL. She had been kind to him.

Nonsense!

But thank goodness he didn't fall for looks, she would be able to avoid him.

Her things had been packed up and they got into the carriage.

The carriage had been sent by the Imperial Family so it was only meant for Qianzhi and her helper Li-Na.
