2 Sweet Caroline

Sweet Caroline plays in the background of the memory. I sit on a couch with people I don't know. "You shouldn't have brought her. She doesn't belong here." We agree on that. "She's nothing but a nerd playing dress up and you know it." Ah. there it is. What everyone's been wanting to say. I stand and walk out of the house. "Give her a chance." I hear someone say as I slam the door.

I grab my fob and unlock the car I drove in. It's not mine quite yet. I still owe the boys a bit but its easy money, this next job. So easy even the Joker and his men couldn't fuck it up. And thats saying something.

I yawn as I drive to the meet up. The lot is deserted. What the fuck. We're supposed to go in five minutes and no one is here. Ya know what? I'll do it myself. They're useless anyway.

I step from my car and stretch out, loosening up for the beating that might happen. I pop my trunk and pull out a bodysuit. This is gonna be great. Just as I zip it up, a car shoots into the lot. I slam my trunk and hop onto it. I hit the fob and it shoots me onto the roof of the building next to the lot.

I take a few deep breaths and think about who all knew about tonight. Just me and a few people. I bet it was Ricky. Selling me out after I turned him over to J last month. They probably made a deal, which is rare considering who J is. It must have really interested him.

I peak out over the ledge and see him come out of a Black Porsche. A sexy car. Wonder if I could steal it. I lock up my car and it the button to send it home. I watch the gravel dust fly as it races home. I then switch to the hacking fob I created and point it directly at his car hood, where the sensor is. It locks on and I connect it to my own fob, locking it and sending it home. He watches this whith apparent rage. He then looks directly at me and points.

I freeze. He holds a gun shaped hand to his head and pulls the trigger. I duck just in time to miss the sniper but the way I'm angled, it still hits flesh. I smash my fist into the brick ledge at the pain and it crumbles onto the ground below. I head to the back fire escape, keeping out of sight, and silently creeping down. I know he's waiting. He doesn't like to wait.
