52 The Results

Watching Mj at her unconscious state broke his heart so much. For he could seem not bear it much.

He now wondered how did Mj really managed to be strong to take care of him during his 1 year of being in a coma? It was even hard for him now, how much more to her before, in a foreign country and was forced to marry someone just so she could stay and help take care of him? He couldn't imagine the sacrifices Mj did and the hardships she had encountered during and afterwards.

He now have seen the big picture of Mj's sacrificial love for him. He didn't realized it before. But now that he is in the same situation as Mj did before, it seems so very hard to bear it. He could only pray to God, asking Mj's recovery and also asking God to give him strength to be able to bear the responsibility and take good care of Mj and their child, no matter what. He slept in exhaustion sitting beside Mj's bed holding her hand.

Another day and night has passed.

The doctor had come to tell Karl the results.

"Through the MRI, it was found out that there was a part of her skull bone that slightly cracked, and that cracked have wounded a small part of her brain that caused her to be in an unconscious state till now. There's no hemorrhage coz the wound was just small. However, it may take time for her brain to heal and the bone crack to heal itself too. We cannot do surgery for there's no need to. But we will have to wait for it to be healed. And that means, she will still remain to be unconscious, until such time she wakes up."

"How long will she be unconscious, doc?" worriedly asked Karl.

"Estimated, it would be, within 6 months to one year at the most."

"What about our child inside her? Will it not be affected now that she's in coma?"

"Surprisingly the fetus inside her is alive and healthy. In that case her pregnancy could still be taken cared of even if she's in coma, for as long as there will be no complications on the child. If she could not wake up yet at the time of her labor, we can do a ceasarian surgery and them both would still be alive."

"What's the percentage chances doc that they will both be alive?

I need my wife and my child to be both alive." verified Karl.

"Upon checking up on both thier vital signs, I say, it would be 90%. However, you need to pray too for both of thier safety. 'Coz we doctors, can only help as much as we could, we are not gods. You need to pray and appeal to our maker in regards to the lives of your wife and child."

"Okay doc. Thank you very much!"

Having seen the doctor left, Karl then proceeded to go to the hospital's chapel. For he could not hold his tears no more. The moment he arrived inside the chapel, he burst into weeping. He began begging and appealing to God for the lives of his wife and child.

"God, I don't know how to begin. But please I'm begging you, to spare the lives of my wife and my unborn child. Let them live safely please. And please grant me enough strength to be able to go through and face this hardships, for me to be able to take good care of them.huhuhuhu." Karl weeping out loudly.

Suddenly, he felt a seemingly comforting wind enveloped him and he shivered, knowing that he is alone at the chapel.

"Was that God's answer to my plea? I hope so," he thought. Having been comforted by the sudden wind that enveloped him minutes ago, he started to subside from his cry and slowly, he became calm. He sat down, stared blank for about 10 minutes. And then went back to Mj's room.

Seeing Mj still sleeping, he watched her from head to foot. And realized that Mj looked like she's just sleeping, like the "Sleeping Beauty" in the fairy tale. In fact, she's smiling a bit. That's what he saw in Mj's face.

"Am I imagining or what?" he pinched his arm and felt pain." He is not imagining, Mj is indeed smiling." he thought.

He then touched Mj's hand and kiss it and said, "Mj, honey, please come back to me. I need you. Our child is healthy, in 6 more months, you will deliver our healthy child. I hope before that would happen, you will be awaken then. And even if you wouldn't be awaken yet, the doctor's will make sure to have the baby delivered safely either in CS or induced labor. I prayed to God too for both of your safety. And you know what, I think I felt His answer to my plea for I felt the wind enveloped me all of a sudden. We will be a happy family soon. I love you much and I miss you honey. I will be here to take care of you and our child. I will always be by your side."

Suddenly, her ring finger move in one second. And he felt it. His heart skipped a bit.

But upon realizing that there was no other movements following after that, He decided not to call the attention of the doctor then, and stayed by her side.
