41 Arthur

Arthur, Mj's youngest brother, grew up to be a responsible guy. After having graduated as Nautical, he then did landed a job as a Navigator of Queen Elizabeth ship.

So he has been earning big amount of Euros for the past 4 years and has been supporting financially their mom Mione.

Although he had married 2 years ago and have a son, he never stopped his financial support to his mom Mione, instead, he continued and increased it some more of his monthly allotment to her. For his salary has been increasing too as the years have passed.

Eventhough, there were some conflicts between them siblings, but they managed to resolved it maturely. All of them 4 siblings, which Mj was the firstborn and the only daughter, and Arthur was the youngest, grew up maturely, only leaving Mom Mione not growing maturely as to not fit to her age.

Arthur's character was different from his mom and different from Mj's. He strived so hard to achieved what he got now. He was a working student in college. At the same time, selling some things like peanuts snacks while studying in college and working as a library assistant.

He graduated Magna Cum Laude inspite of his hardships. And so when he landed a job he did got a high paying salary job easily, because of his hardworking character, credentials and capability, he was easily entrusted with a good job.

And so, since then, he took over Mj's responsibility of taking care of their mother financially.

And yet their mother Mione was not contented of his financial support. For she wants more money and more money for her to spend on non-sense things. In short, she's just wasting the money of Arthur. She was wasting Mj's money before too that's why she stopped supporting her financially, and Arthur did took it over.

So when Arthur knew that their mom was just wasting his money, he also got mad at Mione and did stopped supporting her for like 4 months. But then he realized that no matter what, their mother is still their mother whether she learned her lessons or not. So he then continued to support her financially regardless of how she will spend it.

"Mom, I wish you would really learn to value the money I am giving you every month 'coz it's part of my hardwork. I hope you would not continue to spend it foolishly." asked Arthur.

"Don't worry my son, I promise to spend it wisely. I will obey you, as you are my last hope." promised Mione half-heartedly with sugar-coated words.

But Arthur have already known that she would continue to spend it foolishly for she have not matured in her mindset yet even until now.

He could not blame Mj for not continuing of her financial support to their mother. However, he could not dare in his heart to not continue to support financially their mother inspite of her foolishness. So he only lift it up to God, hoping that their mother would finally change and grew maturely in the future.

He was blessed with a good and understanding wife as well, and a cute son, so that made him feel contented somehow in his life.

Little did he know, that their mother Mione would actually do more foolish things, to take advantage of what she was given with from her daughter and son.

For Mione, the 500 thousand pesos that Mj has given her, plus the monthly pension of her late husband, plus the monthly allotment Arthur has been giving her, was not really enough. She thinks that her children owes her a living. And money greediness has already crept into her heart.

And so her greediness for money continued... and increasingly continued her greed for money to the point of whether it's a big or small amount of money she were given, still it wouldn't be enough for her. For she will crave for more money and more money for her to easily and foolishly spend it with...

And she tells and advices other people this, "You should bear children more and more. For the more you have children, the more children will give you money when they started working themselves. So, you as a mother, would have more income and more money will be given to you from each of your child when they will start working and will have their own salary. For example, one mother has only 5 children and the other mother has 9, for sure, once they all started working, the other mother who has 9 children would definitely have more money given to her by her 9 children compared to the one mother that has only have 5 children, right? And that my friend, is such a wonderful kind of life. A life full of money. Hehehehe"
