2 Lunch Break

"Hi, Atsuki." -Akari

"Hey, what's up!" -Atsuki

Ever since the day Atsuki and I ran into each other, we started talking a bit more to each other. After putting my books in my locker, I would walk past Atsuki's locker and say hi to him. We'd just have some small talk like "How did you do on the test" or "Did you finish your homework" until the bell for Homeroom rang. I wanted to know more about Atsuki and what he does when he's not at school. But, I kind of find it hard to approach him. Either one, I get nervous walking up to him and decide to back out of it or two, he's surrounded by all the girls in the school! I guess asking him to meet with me privately would work but that's never going to happen. Right?

"Was there any Science homework due today?" -Atsuki

"Yeah, there was. Wait, did you not do it?" -Akari

"Crap! There was!" -Atsuki

"Our teacher reminded us to finish the assignment by the end of the week! I-If you want Atsuki, I c-could help you with your science h-homework during lunch. We could m-meet at the roof if y-you want?" -Akari

"Your a life savor Akari! I can't thank you enough! Can we meet in front of the science lab? That's my fifth period. " -Atsuki

"Sure!" -Akari

Ok, what did I just do? It was such a good chance to get him alone with me that my body acted on its own! I was so happy yet so frightened. The bell rang for homeroom and I ran away as fast as possible because I bet I would say something stupid if stayed with Atsuki any longer.

*Behind nearby locker*

"I didn't know Atsuki and Akari were that close to each other!" -Hina

"Maybe it was a coincidence? You know like when you pass someone and say hi." -Yui

"Yeah right! This is way too casual for a coincidence, Yui. Maybe she has a crush on him! I'm gonna ask Akari about this later." -Hina

"Finally, break time. You guys wanna go to the vending machines to get some food?" -Akari

"Um actually, before we go, when did you and Atsuki hook up?" -Hina

"WHAT??!! ATSUKI AND I DID NOT HOOK UP! " -Akari

"But, we saw you and Atsuki talking to each other in front of his locker." -Yui

I didn't tell Hina and Yui about how Atsuki and how he was the guy I ran into or how we cleaned the pool and went out to eat together. It's not that I didn't want to tell them, I was just afraid what Hina and Yui would do to me if they knew I was talking to a guy. But, there's nothing I can do to get out of this one.

"Remember how I ran into someone on my way to school a couple of weeks ago?" -Akari

"Yeah." -Hina, Yui

"Well, the guy I ran into turned out to be Atsuki." -Akari

"What! Really!!" -Hina, Yui

"Yeah, and we both were punished for pool clean up." -Akari

"Well, well, well Akari. What did I tell ya? The guy you ran into would be a hottie that you would fa... Wait, did you fall in love with him and want to kiss him?" -Hina

I couldn't hold it in, I was blushing so hard I looked like a freshly picked tomato.

"Oh, my, god!" -Yui, Hina

"IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK!!" -Akari

"Akari, we will do what we can to get you and Atsuki together. Don't you worry" -Yui

"I am going to worry about how you two are going to do so." -Akari

We all laughed together as the bell rang for fourth period.

*Ding Dong Ding Dong*

"Finally, its lunchtime! You guys wanna eat in the cafeteria today? I left my lunch at home." -Hina

"I have plans, sorry." -Akari

"Could it possibly be with him?" -Hina

Right in front of the door was Atsuki. He was waving at me to come to him. Didn't he tell me to meet him in front of the science lab?

"It's okay Akari, you go get him." -Yui

"I said it's not like that!" -Akari

"Okay, wanna go somewhere after school today? I feel leaving you guys because we usually eat lunch together." -Akari

"Sure! Then you can tell us what gonna happen when you two leave." -Hina

"Nothing is going to happen, Hina!" -Akari

"It's just a joke." -Hina

I said bye to Hina and Yui and left for the roof with Atsuki. I've never felt this nervous walking with someone to lunch. It's not like we're doing anything special together. Just helping him with his homework. But, I guess part of the nervousness came from the girls staring at me with jealous, devil eyes. All the girls in our school liked Atsuki so I don't blame them seeing some random girl that is not popular or well known walking beside Atsuki. But all the staring was so intense that I decided to walk behind Atsuki.

"Are you alright Akari? You kind of look pale." -Atsuki

"No, I'm totally fine! It's just that, there's a lot of people staring at us like we're a..." -Atsuki

WAIT! I can't say that to Atsuki! What if he gets the wrong idea that I want to be in a relationship with him!

"A couple?" -Atsuki

AHHH! HE FIGURED IT OUT!

"Don't worry, I don't mind looking like a couple with you." -Atsuki

His face right then began to glow, like a firework, exploding magnificently in the night. The fuzzy feeling I had on the day I met Atsuki came rushing back. I didn't know that having someone you love can feel this good.

Atsuki and I arrived at the roof of the school. It was kind of windy that day and I told Atsuki that we should find a better place inside, but he insisted that we stay out here. We sat down, ate our lunch, and began doing Atsuki's science homework.

"Akari, what causes algae to bloom?" -Atsuki

"Lots of nutrients like phosphorus and nitrogen found in the water usually cause algae to bloom." -Akari

"Wow, Akari, your smart! I bet you study every day!" -Atsuki

"I'm not that smart. I have to study every day to keep the information in my head, that's all." -Akari

"But man, I wished I was as smart as you. I don't have time to go home and study." -Atsuki

"Yeah, because you're too busy playing at the arcade with your friends." -Akari

"I stopped going to the arcade with my friends. I work at a part-time job now." -Atsuki

"Oh! Where do you work? I bet it's some restaurant so you can eat while you work huh." Akari

"You know that diner down the street from the arcade? The one with the giant duck as the logo, that's where I work." -Atsuki

"Oh, I used to eat there a lot when I was little!" -Akari

I didn't know Atsuki was this responsible in life. He looks like the type of guy to go out and have fun with his friends all the time and not have any worries. I guess there's more to Atsuki then what's shown on the outside of him. But I wonder why Atsuki started to take a part-time job now. Like I said before, he used to go to the arcade immediately after school with his friends and play until it got late. I guess I shouldn't pry into someone else business.

"Um, Atsuki, if you want, I can help you study after school since your busy with all your part-time job and stuff." -Akari

"Really! But I've already asked you to help me with my science homework right now. Are you sure your okay with that? I feel like I'm sort of using you. And plus, you also have things to do after school right? -Atsuki

"I actually don't really have any after school activities to do after school. Only on Tuesdays, I go help my grandfather clean his shrine so it won't really be a bother. Also, helping you with your homework right now is me making it up to you because I made you late and taking me out to eat." -Akari

"Well, if it's not a bother to you, then please let me study with you after school." -Atsuki

After that long conversation, we hurried to finish Atsukis science homework before the bell rang for Sixth-period. We finished just in time and started to pack our papers when a strong gust of wind blew one of Astuki's papers out of his hand. He lunged out, stretching his arms as long as possible to grab his paper. *Thud* I look up and see Atsuki on top of me. My head between his arms and my legs intertwined with his. His face was so close to mine that I could hear his breathing. I could smell the cologne he put on. He was blushing. Both of us were.

"Oh, uh-um sorry about that. I-It was an accident" -Atsuki

"Y-Yeah! Y-Your f-fine." -Akari

"Hey, um s-see you later i-in science!" -Atsuki

Atsuki got up and ran away so fast that I thought that he was like so superhuman. I couldn't process what just happened. Atsuki pressed me down onto the floor! Today's lunch was the most eventful lunch I ever had. If I asked Atsuki, would he come to eat lunch with me again? With that thought in mind, I packed all the things into the backpack and headed down to Sixth-period.

*Behind a wall*

"What does she think she's doing with Atsuki. She can just take him up here and act all lovey-dovey with him! I cannot allow this. I will do whatever it takes to get rid of Kaori Akari!" -Tanaka Ichika
