12 Chapter 12 - Violet Nevermoore pt.3
Reading the letter brought upon many feelings for Long Ren. First of all, from these context clues, Violet Nevermoore should be a prominent figure or a strong one at least.
She had probably already reached the apex and wrote this manual on a whim. It's safe to assume she's at least much stronger than Xing Lao, as he also felt surprised with this manual.
While Long Ren did not exactly know how strong Xing Lao is, He should be quite high in the power hierarchy of this world.
He is an elder at the strongest sect here, that has got to amount to something.
Though he could also very well be a frog at the bottom of the well, but for now, he will ignore those useless thoughts.
He will reach Xing Lao's level sooner or later anyway, then, he will search for some answers. If he can't even surpass Xing Lao with his cheats, then even he will be massively disappointed with himself.
Although his supposed cheat hasn't rolled him anything else that's useable for him, other than the Space body cultivation technique Part 1 (Incomplete 1/2), which he still could not comprehend, and the futon set, he still has many chances to roll for something nice.
As for finding this Violet Nevermoore herself, Long Ren had no thoughts of doing so. Not even one bit.
Sure he felt grateful she had written this manual which helps him quite a lot, but even if they met, there would be no use.
Not only is he clueless about their meeting place, but he also does not have any space-related cheats. Sure he has some affinity towards the spatial elements and that one manual he rolled, but Long Ren doubts that's even remotely enough to be used to travel back to earth.
So, her name would just be left on the back of Long Ren's head, maybe he will meet her someday, maybe not.
Not that he could search for her anyway. He doesn't even know what Silvervale ore is.
'Welp, whoever you are, Violet, I will give you my thanks for this, good luck on your journey back to shitty earth!' Long Ren thought, silently giving Violet his prayers.
And as he was done with Violet's message, he heard the ever-so mechanical voice in his head.

The sweet sweet whispers of the gacha devil resounded near his ear. And as per usual, Long Ren logged in and rolled, hoping for the best.
These past few days of rewards haven't been generous to him. Most of the time he just receives something completely unusable.
Like on day 8, he received an item that can lockpick any treasure chest. Thankfully, every treasure chest in this world is protected by locks…oh wait,
THEY'RE NOT!
They're protected by runes that could kill Long Ren if he even tried using this item on it.
But then again, he also received some rewards that came from his previous life, which confuses Long Ren greatly.
Just yesterday he received a bottle of milk almond chocolates…Not that he's complaining or anything, it is a nice snack, but it really makes him wonder whether he'll someday get a nuke or something stupid.
'A phone that's connected with Earth's internet would be good, heh…' Long Ren joked.
With everything done, Long Ren stopped thinking about stupid things. He cleared his mind, and fell asleep with a smile on his face. What a great day!

TimeSkip-Chan snapped her fingers and yelled at the top of her lungs, fast-forwarding the world at her beckoning.

"Well, that's my one-year anniversary with this new body and world." Long Ren muttered under his breath.
Today marks his body's 13th birthday, effectively making him an adult by this world's standard.
Yep, this world is pretty backward on technology after all. The age of consent here is 13, while some nobles or high-ranking cultivators in this world would usually marry their children off at the tender age of 8 and conduct the ceremony at the age of 14.
Long Ren had expected this kind of thing, but he was still surprised nonetheless. As he came from the 21st century, trying to adapt to this world's cultural standards had been hard for him.
This past year, nothing much changed, except with Long Ren getting more nutritional daily sustenance with more taste.
Other than that, He and Xing Lao just kept doing their usual daily lessons, 3 days per week, 5 hours per day.
Xing Lao does have his duties to attend to after all.
His lessons usually consist of general knowledge, crafting, runes, a little bit of alchemical knowledge, etc.
Although they mainly focus on improving Long Ren's cultivation, having an extra tid bid of knowledge on everything else will only help Long Ren not get cheated on in the future.
Oh, and Long Ren finally learned that Xing Lao is actually a Grand Elder of the sect when they officially registered their Master-Student relationship just a few days ago.
Well, learning that doesn't really change or matter all that much though.
If anything, it only solidifies his answer to the question of why he hasn't encountered the "New student must learn their place" situation where some older gangs bully him and all that shenanigans.
Of course no one would dare mess with an Elder's personal disciple, especially if that elder is a Grand Elder. They'd just be courting death!
All in all, having a strong backing is really nice for the serene and peaceful life Long Ren wanted.
Speaking of serene…his supposed cheat hasn't been doing that much for him.
300+ rolls and yet he has not yet gotten anything that's even remotely as valuable as the Futon set he received..
His system inventory is now filled with many random items. At the very least though, all of them are unique, no repeats so far. This just shows how big the pool of items he could fish out of.
Thankfully, his inventory system comes with a sort and search function. So, even though he does not know the function of some of the items he has, he at least knows how valuable it is as compared to the other items. Sorted from the least to most valuable by the System.
In total, he has:
6 cultivation manual, with the most valuable being the [Space body cultivation technique Part 1 (Incomplete 1/2)]
50+ consumable items, Earth ascension Pill x5, as the most valuable one. (A/N: he can roll items in higher quantities than 1)
250+ cultivation materials/herbs/ores, with Silvervale Ore (500 gr) as the most valuable, which surprised Long Ren greatly when he received it. Though, the next in line is the Sunavalon grass (10 gr), which makes Long Ren wonder whether Silvervale Ore is regarded as more valuable because of its quantity or not.
And finally, 50+ items from earth…from a simple piece of bolt to a literal smartphone…cable. Yep, he rolled a smartphone charger…
'Can't win 'em all, I suppose.'

Today, like any other day, Long Ren was busy cultivating on top of his futon for maximum comfort and efficiency. He is now already a rank 2 cultivator, almost rank 3. A really fast pace for this world's standard.
Long Ren hears the door of his house opening, and there had only been 2 visitors to his house this past year. One of them was the Clan Head visiting him with Xing Lao, and Xing Lao himself.
The Clan Head's visit is just to check on Xing Lao's personal disciple and compare Long Ren to his own disciple, classic.
He does have a good-looking cup though, about as beautiful as Xing Lao's. Long Ren could see the rivalry between the both of them, with them going all passive-aggressive towards each other every time they talk, but, that is not important.
'I wonder what master wants today. It is an off day after all.' Long Ren thought while opening the door for Xing Lao and letting him in.
