123 A changed man

Huli sighed while sitting at his desk in his study. He looked out the window. He saw the clear blue sky and the sun was shining.

He didn't feel like working on all those documents at all, he preferred to sit in this southern garden with Kaida and the triplets.

When he thought of that, a small smile appeared on his face.

Ronin who was no longer surprised to see him coughed

"Your Highness, shouldn't you focus on the documents in front of you?"

Huli looked annoyed at Ronin and a sigh left his lips

"isn't it time for a break, First? how long have we been working?"

Ronin clicked his tongue and shook his head

"there is still a lot to do your highness, the faster you work the faster we are both with our family!"

Huli looked even more annoyed at Ronin and threw a document at him.

"we are among us, why do you call me by title, first! we have not been friends for years"

Ronin laughed at him and catched the document

"force of habit, Huli! just keep working!"

Huli sighed again and continued to work. he looked at Ronin with a sneaky look. he knew Ronin had an appointment with a councilor. Huli would then take his chance to slip away!

While Huli continued to work on the documents, he occasionally kept looking at the clock.

After a while Ronin got up and got ready to meet the councilor.

He went to the door, but before he left Huli's office, he frowned at Huli

"Don't think I don't noticed, Ice! I expect you will have finished at least half of the documents when I get back, or it'll just take us longer to finish!"

Huli looked at Ronin and pretended to be surprised and insulted.

"First, is this how you think about me? You know I take my job very seriously!"

Ronin raised his eyebrow and looked at Huli for a while, then nodded and walked out of Huli's office.

Huli waited a few minutes before quickly lifting out of his chair and rushing out of his office.

If the people who knew him before he married Kaida saw his behavior, they wouldn't believe this was the same cold-blooded person from the past.

Huli walked through the hallways of the palace when he looked out with a questionable feeling. Out of nowhere he heard dragons roar, as if they were sad.

He wondered what was going on, but he was sure that Kaida knew what to do.

He was tired of sitting at his desk and working on all those documents. So, against Ronin's wishes, he had decided to take a break.

'It would have been better if I wasn't a king!'

He was on his way to Tatsu's quarters to see if there was any good news. Jaya was ready to give birth any time, but if you looked at her nobody couldn't tell.

She was still fit and could still do anything. She wanted Tatsu to go to work because he was to overprotective and was monitoring all her actions.

Just when he wanted to walk on, he was surprised by Hiroki's fox leaping into his arms and Hiroki's dragon holding his left trouser in his mouth and pulling it.

Huli picked up the fox and lifted the dragon. He frowned and looked at them, and then he noticed that they were very restless.

"what is going on?"

Despite the fact that the fox was a puppy, his vocabulary was slightly more extensive than his master and he was able to clarify that there was something wrong with Hiroki. But for Huli ir was not exactly clear.

Huli rushed to the nursery and when he stood at the door of the room he heard Hiromi and Hiroshi crying.

'That's odd, why are they crying? Isn't Kaida in the nursery too?'

Huli quickly opened the nursery door and went inside quickly. He saw that Kaida sat in a cross-legged position on the middle of the bed.

Hiroshi was standing next to Kaida on the bed while holding on to her arm. Hiromi was on the other side of Kaida, while Hiroki laid still between her legs.

When he looked closely he saw a trail of blood running through Kaida's mouth and noticed that Hiroki's hand was red. He hurried to the bed and reached out to grab Kaida's shoulders but was stopped by an electric shock.

When Hiromi saw her father, she quickly crawled over and raised her arms crying.

When Hiroshi saw his father, he sat down quietly next to Kaida and pointed his hands at her.

Huli picked up Hiromi and calmed her down. While Hiroshi kept babbling as he pointed at Kaida with his arms.

Huli walked to the side of the bed and picked up the bell on it. He rang it so that the children's personal maids knew they were needed.

Huli then walked back and then picked up Hiroshi and Hiromi. He quietly placed them in their craddle.

"Wait here for Chika and Ena, they will come and get you in a minute, I will go and look what is going on with your mother and little brother"

Huli went back to the bed and looked at Kaida and Hiroki who were still not moving. This time Huli made an attempt to take Hiroki from Kaida. But the moment he tried to do that, Kaida held Hiroki firmly, as if she was protecting him.

Huli frowned and wondered what was going on. He had often seen now Kaida go to her place of thought. So he knew that even though she went there, she was aware of what was going on around her.

But now it seemed as if she didn't realize Huli was in the room, and she hadn't responded when the kids were crying. In addition, she had only awakened Hiromi and Hiroshi from her place of thought the mind, not Hiroki and herself.

Huli tried to grab her again, but was hit by an electric shock again. This time he was not about to let him self be restrained by the shock and forced through the force field he felt. When he held her he was shocked by her body temperature.

The first thing he noticed and that he needed to got used to was her body temperature. The first months of their marriage, they both had sleepless nights, as he often got sweaty often due to the heat. Kaida, on the other hand, often woke up shivering from the cold of his body temperature.

Kaida's body temperature was still high compared to Huli's, but compared to her normal body temperature it was too low.

He gently wiped away the blood around her mouth and touched her forehead with his palm. When he did, he felt as if he was being pulled in and seemed to fall through the air. It was so dark that he saw nothing.
