01. “Hey there Princess!”

I was just a high school student who wanted to focus on my dreams and make my mama proud of me. I knew that someway somehow I had to get some work to support myself while in school. Well handling school and work was not easy but with the help of Bryant, I was able to be back on track always. Anyway, my name is Valerie Kay and Bryant Lytton is my best friend. He is my everything, when I say my everything, I don't mean my boyfriend but he's like my brother, father and mother. He takes care of me like my mom would do.

Bryant Lytton was a famous singer in the school and many people knew him and they thought I was lucky to be his closest friend but I cared less. "Valerie, you need to focus on your studies, you're going too low, just take a look at your grades Valerie, what will happen if your mom gets to know about it?"said Bryant. I was so ashamed of myself so I bow down my head and answered,"Sorry Bryant, I don't know how come. I think it's because of the work that's why I'm going down. You know that I close very late at night and I go to class very early in the morning. I get little chance to learn or even time for myself." Bryant, though is tough, he is also soft-hearted so he hugged me so tight and told me everything will be fine. I just like that because I get to enjoy the warmth in his broad chest.

Sunday, after church, as we were walking down the road to our hostel, Bryant brought out another suggestion to which will help me with my academic work. He handed a piece of paper to me and when I opened it, it was a job vacancy for a personal assistant for the Princess of their town. In shock, I asked,"Where did you get this thing from Bryant?",he looked at me in wonder and said,"Sometimes, the questions you ask me make me wonder if you really know the kind of friend that you have". I shook my head and said," Thank you so much Bryant. First thing tomorrow I will go and resign from that midnight job". I smiled and hugged him. The job will start during our summer vacation, so I was certain that I could do it. Now I can focus on my studies then work after school.

One day, Bryant told me to escort him somewhere but he never told me where we were going. We got into the car and he drove for about thirty minutes, finally, we got to a large gate which I've never seen before so to satisfy my curiosity, I asked,"What are we doing here cause as far as I can remember, you don't have a house and you don't come from this town." I was expecting an answer from Bryant but he just smiled and shook his head. I couldn't make it out, but all I know was that I was angry with him. Why should he keep me in suspense? Finally, the gate was opened and he zoomed in. When I got down from the car and looked around, I realized that it was a palace and it was really beautiful.

Bryant had told me that I was going to work in the palace during summer vacation.
