45 His first love

"Why are you crying?" A young boy dressed in sports wear ask the little girl before him.

The little girl was wearing an oversized hoodie, her long jet black hair falling on her shoulder was little messed up with the wind.

Her round black eyes were watery, her cute little face was full of tears. She was sobbing silently.

He wiped her tears and hugged her tightly patting her little head, he said resolutely "Don't cry okay? I'm here, I'll protect you, always"

That was a promise he made to himself that day. At that time he was hardly fifteen, but he fell in love with her at the first sight.

The roaring of surfs bought him back to the present. His eyes were gentle as he recalled the past. The past that was now just a beautiful memory of his youth.

She probably didn't even have a recollection of the past they share.

The girl he was desperately searching for twelve years, finally appeared before him.

She was his teenage love, his first love.

But what about her, did she not felt the same thing?

Was it an illusion? The trust she placed on him, the care, the hope was it all just a fragment of his imagination.

He couldn't fathom it though.

When Samantha woke up the next day, it was already noon. She opened her eyes to find herself in a strange place. Panicked, she tried to get up but her head was throbbing with pain. She clutched her head, her migraine was acting up again.

"Drink. You will feel better"

She raised her head it was Yuhan. Thankfully

She finished the drink quickly, placing it back on the tray, she yelled "Shut the window. And turn them off... the lights"

Yuhan :"....." It's my house for god's sake

Even though scolding inwardly, he still moved to shut the window and turn off the lights. He turned to her, she was snuggling in the blanket, clutching pillow to her head.

"Migraine?" he asked to which she made a sound of affirmation.

He stared at her for a bit before walking out, he came again after a few minutes with a bowl of soup. He reached out to her, patting her head gently he called out to her "Sam get up"

Samantha groaned in pain. Ignoring her groans he pulled her out of the blanket, Samantha clutched her head tightly, her face was as pale as a sheet of paper and sweaty even her lips were trembling lightly. His heart ached at the sight of her pale face.

She glared at him with her blood shot eyes "Go away"

Yuhan chuckled at her fierce look, rubbing her little head he snapped "It's my home, my bedroom, my bed"

Samantha looked at him dazedly, her eyes were unfocused, she tried hard to focus but everything appeared blurry.

She had a severe case of migraine. Whenever it acted up she felt an unbearable throbbing pain in her head with extreme sensitivity to light and sound. The throbbing in her head increases even with slight movements.

Yuhan stirred the soup up then scooping a little, he took the spoon to her lips "Open your mouth" She had no strength to resist so she obediently opened her mouth. He feed her the soup spoon by spoon. After she finished eating he wiped her face then tucked her in the bed carefully.

She curled up under the blanket and dozed off swiftly.

A little girl was surrounded with a huge raging fire. Flames leaped up hungrily to devour the wooden sheds. Fiery wooden beams crashed and glowed brightly. Thick black smoke spread all around. She was shouting and crying"Mumma!!! Daddy!!!" Her round black eyes twinkling with tears. The next second everything turn black, she ran and ran fast afraid that the darkness would engulf her. She suddenly bumped into a strong wall of muscles, raising her head a little, her teary eyes met with a pair of ocean blue eyes staring at her lovingly. The darkness sorrounding her dissipates and came the beautiful sunshine.

Samantha slowly opened her eyes expecting to see the same loving gaze but what greeted her sight was a pair of long stretched legs wrapped in denims. She blinked then rubbed her eyes but the scene remain unchanged.

She sat up straight with a long sigh, Yuhan who was busy on his laptop quickly asked

Do you feel better now?"

It was then that Samantha realised her headache was gone.

Phew!!!

"Yea...you had my medicine?" Her migraine was already at the label where it doesn't go away without eating medicines.

"Yes... do you even realise how miserable you look whenever you got headaches, I possibly couldn't left you to die of pain" He scoffed, inwardly thanking the heavens that her pain was gone. Earlier he was so worried that he didn't dare to leave her alone, staring at her face for hours without blinking.

Samantha persued her lips "Just say that you were worried what's with all the excuses"

"... Tsk I'm not that free okay?" he retorted, he would never accept that he was worried.

Later, Samantha spent the whole day lazing around at Yuhan's place.

After dinner Samantha complained that she ate too much, so they went out for a walk.

There was a beautiful man made lake behind his villa so they went there to watch the scenery.

Yuhan had spent a huge sum of money to built the villa, it was a luxurious glass house with no other properties in a mile radius.

He was quiet person, he rarely came in contact with other people. Except Samantha he has no other friend or relatives.

They walked to the lakeside quietly, Samantha was wearing his sweatshirt as she didn't had her clothes with her. They were best friends and have known each other for years, others will have there own opinions but for her it was pretty normal to wear his clothes.

••••••••

On the other end in a dark room, Ethan was leaning on the headboard clutching an iPad in his hand. On the screen was a picture of a girl strolling around in the dark in an oversized sweatshirt with a man beside her.

The girl was obviously Samantha with Yuhan beside her.

Ethan clutched the iPad tightly, the picture was like a thorn in his eyes.

He had once asked An to follow her movements but now that was no more necessary so he ordered his men to retreat.
